Zett's scene
« on: May 24, 2005, 09:44 AM »
I have not seen much talk about this scene.   The 12 year old Padawan must have taken out about 7 or 8 clonetroopers before meeting his end?   He went out more spectacularly than most of the master Jedi.  Although his situation is much different of course.

I have no point other than it was a cool scene I thought.

Well, the difference here (in my mind) is that he was on the attack, rather than getting taken by surprise. I think Ki Adi Mundi, Aayla Secura and the rest of them probably could have taken out clones by the dozens if they were on the attack.

True, Lando.  All of the Jedi we saw getting gunned down by Clone Troopers were ambushed.  There was no warning, and that's what made it so disastrous.

He was Lucas's son. Thats why he took out a mess of clones.

actually, thinking more of this scene...i like it more and more.

first, i think zett is remniscent of padawan obiwan in ep.1....spinning and kicking the mess out of battle droids.

second, his death is significant and it's not just some extra shot so lucas can be a popular dad.   the  younglings represent the future of the jedi order....they die.   Zett is a little older so i wouldnt bunch him into that symbol, but i would say that his death is the death of the jedi as loyal protectors of liberty.

maybe you think i'm stretching.  just food for thought.

It was disatrous, but not in a tragic way. Clones are simple minded. As soon as the order was in their head, I think any Jedi should have sensed a disturbance and reacted. These scenes were very dissapointing for me.

Which is why I loved Zett's scene, we got to see one go down the way they all should have gone down, fighting like the heroes they're supposed to be.
