I did a good deed today
« on: May 25, 2005, 08:00 PM »
I was in Wal-Mart and for the first time ever, saw the new wave of figs, grabbed abunch of Neimodians, Wookies(both diff colors and droidekas, but behind all of this was one SA clone, I was so excited and quickly grabbed.

As I walked out of the toy aisle I saw a kid that looked about 8 looking through the pegs, I walked over and said what are you looking for? He told me he was looking for the new clone trooper, I though for a minute, smiled and handed him the SA clone, saying to myself ill find it another day, I havent felt bvad about it since, I made a kids day and gave it to someone who these were meant for, not a collector, a scalper

a kid

Nice!!

I gave away an At-TE gunner a few weeks ago and the next time found 6 on the pegs.  I wish the same to you.

You are never alone when there's a clone.

Great job!  Those kinds of stories are always good to hear!
The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
Is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

Not enough good deeds these days.  That is great, it is good to help a fellow collector, but it is GREAT to help a kid.

Yup, and his dad is all fat hiding in mommy's basement with a tight t shirt stretched over his hairy beer belly with greasy hair tied back in a pony tail, glasses, and a goatee that doesn't fit his face.  He also has a connection to the internet and eBay as his homepage  :D

Just imagine the kid then turning the corner and saying to his dad, "Look Pop, another 41 clone, now we have 2 squads".

No, really though, that was a great thing to do. Sometimes we have to remember that these are just toys and kids are going to enjoy them a hell of a lot more than we are.

That was a cool thing you did!

Not to toot my own horn, but yesterday I gave my wife two AT-TE Gunners and two Nemoidian Warriors all MOMC to give to two of her students for their birthday.

I feel horrible for these kids... my wife teaches MR (severely mentally handicapped kids) and the boys in the class love Star Wars.  At first I wanted to open them, but I'm glad these kids will have these figures.

I've given up a couple of things I hid in the pegs before, and I get good karma for even trying sometimes. I saw a vader Med Table a guy(teen) was looking for, and I hid it for me(very swiftly), and then my concience got to me, and I tried to hunt him down to hand it off, with no luck, but I was rewarded later by finding a gunner. :)

This is always good to hear and my hat goes off to you for doing so.  The thing that a lot of people forget is that kids don't have the means or the time to go to stores every day like most of us do, and because of that, a lot of the more difficult to find figures are ones they don't ever even see.  This might have been the kid's only chance to see a Clone, so you did a good thing.
