RotS Deluxe Clone 3-packs
« on: May 11, 2005, 10:57 AM »
Since we love our Clone discussion here, I thought this pack needed to be separate from the other wave 3 stuff...   ;)

Looks like GH dug up a picture of the Colored Clone set...

Colored Clones, Loose
Colored Clones, Carded

So, will we see this colored set in addition to or instead of the all-white pack shown at Celebration 3?

Oh that is going to be tough on you completist carded collectors.  LOL!  Good luck with that.  I thought they would do the color variants.  Good move by Hasbro.

I might actually pass on these... reason being that the regular Clones are a lot easier to find for the ROTS line than they were in the SAGA/Clone Wars line, plus the quality of the regular carded stuff has gone way up.

So, I think I will pass on these... but who knows.  I really can't stand the lying down Clone though... that's such a dumb pose.

Yeah - I've never really liked the laying-down clone sculpt either.

If they needed a third "pose" why not have the clone standing at attention like at the end of AOTC when they're all lined up to start loading the transports. To me THAT would be a better pose then laying on the ground.

I will pass on them to.  However, if they are like the Clone Wars 3 pack I will only see one once and that's it.  I still like the fact you get 3 figs for $10.  Granted they kind of suck but for army building they look ok in displays.

The laying down one has no use whatsoever, due to the new helmet design. He cant look up or anything. Useless. ::)

I don't know if I like them yet.  I suppose I will have a long time to think about it, since they'll be hard to find.  I wish they would do some color variations on the #6 and #41 clones.

Hmmm ... wouldn't it make more sense to do all three with the same coloration?  ???

In any event, I'm looking forward to these. As figures they aren't spectacular but they're plenty adequate for dioramas and displays where you're not going to play with them much anyway.

I just hope they ship the hell out of these so there's enough for everyone.

It makes a decent dead clone when you place it on it's back.

I don't know if it's the paint, the pics, or what, but those look awfully bootlegged. I think I'll pass on them like I did with the CW ones (which I never even saw anyways).

Had to see this coming.  As long as the price point stays at roughly $10 a pop, I can live with this.

I'm just hoping there isn't 5 variations like there were for the CW line.

I thought someone from Hasbro said at C3 that there'd be colored variants of the Clone 3-packs again...  Or am I dreaming?  Pretty sure that's what they said though, so this doesn't come as a surprise at all to me...

Pretty sure they confirmed the variants. No big surprise either way though for me.

There was a point in time when I really liked the 3-pack clones. That was in the time period when the carded clone was the near equally pre-posed AOTC red Clone, and just anything that gave variety was an improvement.

Post Clone Wars SA Clone, the EE 4-packs, its cousin the Target Clone, and ROTS #41 Clone, I could honestly not give two ***** about these. I'm in the camp of wanting all these paint variants done on SA Clones. And they're certainly proving they can produce the paint schemes quickly with these. There's no reason they can't do it on a superior toy.
