Please, Please, No...E.T. Sequel?
« on: July 21, 2005, 01:40 PM »
E.T. Sequel in the works?

This (behind Star Wars Choppers) is the worst idea I have heard this month.  Damn it, stop remaking stuff and get some new ideas out there.  Stop making sequels to things that don't need sequels

This has me depressed :-[

Well, we've already hit rock bottom when Jessica Simpson was selected to portray Daisy Duke.  It only gets better from there.
This is what happens when you invade Wakanda

Yeah, this doesn't sound like a good idea at all.  I think E.T. was a movie that can just stand well on its own, it doesn't need to turn into a franchise with a number of sequels (or any, for that matter).  You would think Spielberg would have more sense than that.

I'll wait till I see an interview with Spielberg and he actually says "I'm making ET 2" before I believe this.

If there's one movie that doesn't need a sequel, it's this one.

Doesn't he have Indy 4 to worry about now?

I'm of the opinion that Indy 4 is also a horrible idea

Aw crap. Horrible idea.

I don't completely believe this story, though. And even if it's legit, I think he'd come to his senses before actually following through.

This may of been good if he did it back in the 80's but not now.  I hope this is either not true or he comes to his senses and dropd the idea.

E.T. is probably my favorite movie of all time, I've said it a lot but I cry every single time he finally gets to go home.  Its such a classic story and ended just fine with no need at all to tarnish anything that came before it.  Outside of Godfather II, ESB and Silence of the Lambs, sequels in general suck ass.

Spielberg wouldn't do it would he...

I agree, why must everything have a sequel? Especially a classic movie like this?
