Picked up my set at a local Target tonight (along with a second Clone Battle Pack).

After seeing these figures in person, I decided to buy 2 sets - the carded set I was going to originally buy as well as an opener set.  Sure, they are $13 bucks each and it's probably too much but I kinda like them in a "lava-y" sort of way.  With the light just right, they do kinda have a reflection that makes them look like they might be on a lava field.

Yeah, you know, it's funny... I actually like the "lava reflection" thing as well.

It's gimmicky but it actually works, I think. They look like they're on Mustafar, and the bases top it off.

I have more of a problem with the figures themselves. You can't really do many duel poses with either of them. Pilot Obi would obviously have been a superior choice, and the only viable Duel Anakin is the Evo one. Most unfortunate.

One of the most awaited duels in the history of movies, and Hasbro couldn't get two "action" figures together that can actually be posed to look like they're fighting. Good work on that one there.

I too was on the fence regarding these figures, I definitely was going to get them, but I wasn't keen on the idea. When I got the two sets of them today, I decided that I really do like them. I kinda wish now they had used the ROTS Vader as the Lava Reflection Vader exclusive and packaged him with a Mustfar base as well so you could have all three "lava Reflection" figures displayed the same.

The paint-op on the Obi-Wan really pulls out the detail of the sculpt well - you can see the dispair on his face.

The 0228 number is actualy for the clone 5-pack. Vader(Anakin) and Ob1 share the same number 0298.

Buddy of mine got me the Lava figs and I'm very thankful for that...  It's gonna be all I can do to snag a Clone 5-pack and Shadowtrooper I'm thinking so the Lava figs "out of the way" gives me some focus on that 5-pack right now.

Hopefully I can get a couple of the Trooper...  Pricey as it is, I'd like a 4-man team of these just because they strike me as a special ops kind of team.

Somehow I think pmundheim's thinking along the same lines?  Paul, what say ye?

I saw some of these today at a scalper booth at the local comic convention. I was pleasantly surprised to see they don't completely suck, and if they were the normal $6 I would've at least considered them, but because of the price and the bull**** gimmicky nature I still refuse to go anywhere near these things, just on principle.

They are alright, nothing to amazing, but i thought good enough to pick up.

I was not impressed.  I'll pick them up on clearance but not at regular price.
