I hate spiders (all insects, actually), snakes, and needles.

Man, I hate needles. Really.

And I have a paranoid fear of sexually transmitted diseases.

I sort of have a fear of heights...I can take it if I need to.  I have to climb up on some 20-40 foot tall tanks from time to time, sort of like climbing a silo on a farm, I really try not to look down

Not really fond of centipedes or spiders...centipedes with all of those legs and they can move baby...I get the serious Willies from seeing them

I used to be afraid of spiders.  Call Daddy and squeal afraid.  I used to be afraid of heights.  I used to be afraid of sharks.

Now I'm an entomologist of all things and handle and look at spiders all the time.  All spiders bite but most are no worse than a bee sting in terms of pain (sure that helped).

I love highrise apartments and climbing forestry towers now to install electronic equipment (former life).

I've been diving in a shark tank in Perth, Western Australia.

Must take fear and beat it into submission.  Gotta love the adrenaline rush too. ;D

No, not that specific species Kevin.  But lots of others.  Tarantulas are kind of funky, to be perfectly honest.  The local entomology department has some for displays.  But yeah, I've had roaches, moths, mantids and big ass spiders walking on me.  No big.

What are those creepy hybred kind that we have down here? They hop, are yellow with brown spots and are a tad aggresive?

:-X Your ballsier than I would ever be in that field...

Now if I was working in paleontology, that would be a whole nother story.

I have to have the Animal Controll people come and look at this tick like creature that I captured beneith a wine glass, and swept into a bag. Its got a huge fat hard body, and its greyish, and over the legs and the mouth it has a circle with a dot in it, like an eyeball...

It was secreating somthing yesterday, and I care not to know what the secretion was.

Its quite gross looking.

Ok, I am located in Spartanburg SC which is located at the foot of the Appalachins.
The spiders are ground dwellers (or so it seems) they tend to hop from place to place and have very hard shells. Does that help?

It helps.  I might ask for more, but I'll see what I can find.  Me geek.

Thanks man, we also have very large spiders called Gargantuas, well ok, that's what the people in the woodlands call them, but, I have no idea what the scientific name is.

They hang from trees, so a boot is out. These may be Carolina Wolf Spiders, the largest spiders in the nation.
