That's awesome.  We're going in June - any tips for sign up or reservations?  How soon can you reserve a spot for this?

It gets filled up pretty fast.  I want to say that we got there within the first hour of the park opening and the boys were in the 5:00 or 6:00 show.  Granted, this was at Disney World, but I'm sure the same can be said at Disneyland.

At Disneyland you just get there about five to ten minutes before. The Jedi will ask for volunteers. The kids jump up and down and he randomly picks about thirty kids from the audience. Kids typically range in age from four to nine.

Jedi Training Academy will be getting the same updates that Disneyland Paris recently got. One of the new effects will be to levitate R2-D2. My bet it is moving inside to the new Star Wars Launching Pad inside Innoventions.

Disneyland will be celebrating Star Wars in early 2016 with Seasons of the Force. Expect to see Star Tours updated with new movie locations, Star Wars Launching Bay in Innoventions and HYPERSPACE MOUNTAIN!

Hyperspace Mountain will be a temporary overlay of Space Mountain were you will be in the middle of a X-wing / TIE fighter dog fight.

Seasons of the Force begins early on November 16.

  • Star Wars Launch Bay – This new area will offer opportunities to visit with favorite Star Wars characters, special exhibits, peeks at the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens and much more. It is located in the former home of Innoventions
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – The classic attraction will feature a new scene inspired by the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
  • Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple –The Jedi Training experience will introduce new characters and a new villain from the popular Disney XD series, Star Wars Rebels. This experience will not open with the event, but will start in December.
  • Hyperspace Mountain – For a limited time, guests will join an X-wing starfighter battle in this reimagining of the classic Space Mountain attraction. Ghost Galaxy will close the week before for the switch over.
  • Other limited-time experiences include:
An opportunity to revisit favorite scenes from classic Star Wars films at Tomorrowland Theater.
  • Special themed food and beverage, merchandise and entertainment.

Also January 10th, the Disneyland Rainroad, the Rivers of America, Mark Twain, canoes and Tom Swayer's island will close for the beginning construction of Star Wars land! Rumor is the Rivers and the island will be shorten and the train rerouted to make more room for the new land.

The old Innoventions building in Disneyland's Tomorrowland has gotten a new skin on its lower level. You can see the words "A long time ago in a galaxy far away." This will be the enterance to the Star Wars Launch Bay.

We all knew it was coming, but Disney officially announced it today: Star Wars Weekends is a thing of the past. :(

I am excited for all of the new Star Wars attractions, but I am SO glad we went last year!
Climbed a mountain & never came back. I will not quit & I always fight back
From this moment for all my life. What could I say? Was born to be this way. And what could I say?  Just livin' for today

Ditto! I'm glad I got to see at least ONE Star Wars weekend before they ended doing them...

Bah.  Taking my family to Disneyworld next week and they've got the Jedi Training Academy shut down until December.  Figures.  It'll be the first time I've been to Disney with the family, and the first time I've gone in 30-some years.

When I was 12 (last time I was at Disney World), the Orlando park had not long before opened the Star Tours ride IIRC, and it was down for maintenance the whole time I was there.   >:(  I feel your pain.
