I don't know if posting this is against the rules or not but I'll give it a try. This is my first GI Joe custom. This is of course, Cobra Commander in this battle armor. I gave him a new color scheme that reminds me of Jango Fett. I guess from a certain point of view its star wars related. Kind of.

I like it a lot Phruby, quite a bit more than the original design, the hooded head on the armor is a pretty realistic idea.  Looks great.

I don't know if posting this is against the rules or not but I'll give it a try.

This is a forum for showcasing your customizing skills... if you stray from Star Wars once in a while, no one will care.   ;)

I like the paint scheme, but he needs a good staff or shiv or something to finish him off... maybe a helmet to go with it (just for him to hold, not necessarily to wear).

ps.
this has nothing to do with anything CC, but I thought I'd let you know since you asked CHEWIE about his Gonk...

I need to make a gonk droid. I've got like six of this puppies laying around. I like the stuff on top of him. How to you make his legs stay together? Mine won't stand straight like that.

On my Gonk droids, I use those little clear plastic rubber bands on the legs; you know, the rubber bands that Hasbro uses to keep weapons in figures hands.

The rubber band is clear and it blends into the gonk's leg so you can't see it there.  Presto!  A Gonk droid whose legs are together and stands nicely on your shelf...  ;)

As an old Joe head from waaaay back Ive got to say I really like this one. Its kinda like CC kicking back without his helmet. The color scheme works great. Ive been thinking about digging up my old joe customs and posting them on commando customs. I would have posted them here but I thought they were against the rules as well. Good job.

Don't worry Jeff, this will be the only non star wars custom I'm posting here. Future joes will be over at commando customs where they belong.

I'm glad you guys like him. I didn't intent him to have jango fett colors. It just worked out that way.

I like the Jango colors, nice job.  What did you do on this figure?  It looks great but I'm not too familiar with GI Joe (I usually just buy some Cobra troops and random GI Joe custom fodder).
The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
Is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

It's basically just a head swap with a new paint job. I used the original battle armor head on my jedi commander a few years ago. This is just a way to reduce my part supplies.

After reading I, Jedi I decided to finally make characters from the book and their appearences in NJO. Here are the first two. Corran Horn (jedi) and his droid Whistler. I plan on making Booster Terrik, Corran Horn's wife Mirax Terrik and Leonia Tavira. If you don't know who these folks are, you need to broaden your reading library. ;)

Always nice to see another rendition of my all-time favorite EU character. :)

I like Ki-Adi's body but I'm not really a big fan of the Han head. I think a Rykrof Endor Rebel head would work better. I believe that Corran bleaches his hair blond during I, Jedi. But it has been quite awhile since I've read that book. Whistler looks pretty good, did you use any particular reference for him, or is that just how you imagined him?

Thanks Ryan. He is actually the Corran Horn from the NJO where his hair is back to redish-brown. Whistler is taken from the I, Jedi cover. It's actually very close to Dan Curto's version from years ago.

Whoops, I should have read a little closer. :P I still think the Rykrof head might look better that the had head though.

It would but I didn't have one. :)

Besides, there is no such thing as an Rykrof head. It's just an Endor trooper head. I'm not going to buy one just for the head when I've got six bags full of parts that need to be customized.

Well paul, i know what you mean. I got tons of parts...tons, that i need to try and incorperate into customs.
The problem is that i make/sculpt them now rather than use the tons of fodder i got.
That aside, Great Corran and Whistler.
I did the same thing when i read I jedi. I went for thr Guide to characters version also rather than the Ijedi cover version.

Great work, and good match of  tunic and R2 unit. Now thats fashion accesorizing at its best!

i like the Han head for Corran, looks good to me & you really can't tell its a Han head till you look at it closely. the colors look good and i like the Ki-Adi body too. On Whistler, the lines on the dome are a little crooked/off looking, but that's just a nitpick...painting straight lines is a pain without taping off and using an airbrush.
