The United: The Politic of Conquest and Rebellion II
« on: September 7, 2005, 07:05 PM »
So now that I've finished the script on the second part of The Politic of Conquest and Rebellion, I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for it's development. Previews and Preview shots, of course, will be included.

I've decided that, in light of all the chances made to the script since the preview first went up, I'll post a new blurb...

As determined as Reigen was to speak to Uparte, he could not help but to be distracted when his eye spotted the approaching soldier. A large red and black peice of fabric embroidered with a two-headed Eagle hung on the soldiers arm. Reigen was not disturbed, of course, by the fabric itself. Rather, by the organization it stood for, the Kobarra Homeworld Defense League.
Created by the Republic to help route out remaining DUKP operatives across the planet, the Homeworld Defense League was regarded as one of the best "homespun units" of the day. When the Republic left Kobarra, Uparte called the HDL under his power...

Ha - I like that idea, the thought of Palpatine getting pissed off at Tarkin.  Pretty amusing.

I hope the action scenes on Kobarra come out as good as they sound in the script. ;)

Ok, here's an update. I'm still working on the Imperial Military staging facility...so far painting of the command tower is completed. I also got bored and made a poster for this PN. Enjoy!

I sorta went for the 1980s sci-fi cover with this one...not entirley sure why though.  :P

Looks good, and movie poster is a nice idea for this.

I supposed those are supposed to be a lot of ships fighting that Star Destroyer?  It looks like you have the capablity to cut and paste images (like you did on the Star Destroyer) - you might want to try that for some more effects as well.  I tend to do that a lot in my series.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to do it for this one though. Lots of action and rich enviorments from what I've planned so far.
Unlike last time, I'm going to give this one all the time it needs to be perfect...so October may be a little to optomistic for its release. We'll see though, so stay tuned.

Preview II, still from the rough draft:
Soon, they entered the throne room of great complex. Sitting behind a table made entirely out of marble, Juanis Uparte grinned and motioned for the senator to sit.
“Tommard, miboyo! Qwual esel newsa de coruscanta?”
“Bad, I’m afraid. They’ve authorized force against the Rebels.”
“Wonderful, now we’ll be able to restore legitimacy!”
“We have legitimacy. Only 3 of our provinces have joined Istantes movement.”
“But does the rest of the Galaxy know, or for the matter care? Their mighty Empire will get another stab at the Confederates, and we’ll get our insurgents taken care of!”
“Our people are at risk.”

Very nice Vator!

If you want a suggestion, I would suggest that base in the background to be darkened/blurred some to match the terrain, and to use the new TIE Fighters instead.  But either way, this looks great!  I can't wait to see what you do with this.

I told him about the scaled TIE also, but he said that the wings were a part of their Evolution, which makes sense to me.

I like the shot, too. Like CHEWIE said though, I'd darken the base just a small bit. The rest is good though!

Yeah, that crossed my mind not to long after I finished the shot...so I'll get to that as soon as I get a chance.

About the TIEs:

1) Early versions of the TIE fighter. Various sources have mentioned that the TIE fighter went through various changes, so its possible it started out with smaller wings. There are a lot of problems with the TIEs in the series, as you'll see in the series.

Yes! Finally, we've got a new Camera. Sony Cybershot (as is tradition) 7.1 Megapixel. So look for updates sooner or later on PCRII!  :)
