Too bad RE features zombies not vampires, because there'd be a "Silver Bullet" joke in there somewhere. Ah well.

Not bad, per se, but it has a really weird aftertaste ... almost like cheese. ???

I should have stuck with my first instinct, which was the Sam Adams Winter Sampler.

Jim Koch invents new overengineered beer glass.

I'm trying to decide if this is the next great revolution in beerology, or if our buddy Jim is finally just out to lunch.

This was actually a pretty decent flick Nate.  I really enjoyed it as a kid - I was "allowed" to watch horror movies starting at age 7 so they hold a special place in my heart.  I recommend this movie if you're going to try the "Silver Bullet" thing again  ;)  You'll enjoy it.

I'm on the last of the sixpack, and oddly I seem to have developed a taste for it. I wonder if the first bottle or two were just bad. Even better, it's 8.0% so it kicks in pretty quickly.

So I picked up one of the Sam Adams Winter Sampelrs: 2x each of Boston Lager, Old Fezziwig Ale, Cranberry Lambic, Cream Stout, Holiday Porter and Winter Lager. Should be interesting.

So far:

"Samuel Adams® Cranberry Lambic is a fruit beer that draws its flavor not just from the cranberries it is brewed with, but also from the unique fermentation character imparted by the rare wild yeast strain. The result is a flavor rich in fruitiness and reminiscent of cranberries and bananas, cloves and nutmeg. The yeast fermentation also will create a slight sourness on the sides of the palate, a signature of the original Lambic style which, with the subtle cereal note from the wheat malt, remind its drinker that, as fruity a beer as this is, it is still a beer."

It's not bad by any means, but I'm not personally fond of this brew. I like cranberries, but not in my beer. I feel like I might just as well have drank this

and probably enjoyed it a little more. Still, I can't fault them for attempting it.

"Introduced as a member of the Winter Classics Mix Pack in 2004, Samuel Adams® Holiday Porter with its rich malt complexity has become a favorite among our winter seasonal brews. In total, five varieties of malted barley are used in the brewing process including a variety of German malt called Carafa®. The Carafa® gives our Holiday Porter its smooth, roasted malt character. Add generous portions of imported hops to the mix and one has a brew that is both robust and high in drinkability."

I like this one much better. Hints of chocolate. Mmm...

I've never liked Bourbon much...big fan of Scotch..especially single malts....but I had a glass of Woodford Reserve at a friends on Thanksgiving, and I'm officially a fan.

A friend of mine was raving about Dr Pepper and Crown Royal, so since I'm a big fan of both, I'm gonna give it a shot...

Um, why would you waste Crown Royal with Dr. Pepper?  Couldn't you just use CC or something for a whole lot less?

BTW, I'm still taste testing to see if I give it a thumbs up...
