I think Original Sam Adams is one of the worst "beers" out there.  I am not and never will be a fan of the taste of hops.  I really can't stand it but they make other good stuff.

I gotta say I thought the same way at first, but somehow it grew on me....

I usually do like fruit flavored beers (SA Cherry Wheat is another one of my favs)

Yeah dude, Cherry Wheat is amazing.

Nathan...I have another challenge for you and being a MN lad one you should take on soon...

I have never gotten around to trying Schells. Although I know somebody here at school who works at the brewery apparently.

Not sure if there is a MGM in Northfield but the ones here always have a sampler 12 pack, some of them are really good, others...Cranberry Lambic

No MGMs--we have a municipal store and a non-chain outfit called Firehouse Liquor--but I think I recall seeing that sampler down here; thanks for the recommendation.

I checked both liquor stores here and no luck on the Schell's sampler. Turns out the one I had been thinking of was the Summit sampler. It's got 3x each of Winter Ale, India Pale Ale, Extra Pale Ale, and Pilsener (and yes, that's actually how they spell it).

Just finished a Winter Ale. Really good stuff--reminds me of the McEwan's Scotch Ale. I've also tried the India Pale and drinking a Pilsener right now. Not bad, but so far not as good as the Sam Adams Winter Sampler pack.

Ah Leinenkugel...vague, distant, blurry half-memories.  Of course it wasn't anything like those today, this is back in the days when it was regular or light, nothing fruity about it. 

Had a boatload of beers with Colman down in San Diego.  Stone was one brewery I seemed to be sticking to, but it was quite hoppy with a hefty aftertaste.  Can't remember most of the other varieties I'm afraid.

Yeah, good times.  But just to elaborate, the old man was drunk, whereas the much more youthful JediMAC was only 'buzzed".  But yeah, we sampled far more than a handful of brews last weekend, at more than a handful of fine drinking establishments.  I lost track too, but I know there was a fair amount of Guinness consumed (as always), and then other randoms, from various Sam Adams, to Coronas, to everything in between.  I just wish it hadn't rendered you so completely useless for the majority of Sunday...

Had about 15 good old fashioned Bud Lights on New Year's Eve.  Forgot how much I love that stuff.

Now is there any real difference in alcohol content between a Bud Lite or Miller Lite and normal American beer?  Last time we were down there we drank a boatload of Bud Lite and the only buzz I got was off my burps.  That and going to the can about every hour on the hour.  It was near pointless, unless I'd been trying to flush kidney stones.
