Jocasta's Reading Room / Help on Ebooks
« on: October 7, 2006, 03:00 PM »
Is there a means to save ebooks after you buy them?

I pretty much hate ebooks, but would like to read the stories that are ONLY available on them. I bought the Darth Maul ebook years ago but couldn't get into reading a whole book while sitting at the computer.  However, I then had to reformat my computer and there was no method to save the ebook, I think I was using the MS reader program.   The ebook downloads INTO the reader and there was no way to save the actual file. Thus, I lost my ebook.

I was looking at the Adobe reader and it sounds like you can actually save the individual books so reformating won't cause you to lose them.

Anyone know if this is true? I'd rather not buy the Adobe version books just to find it is like the MS version.

Thanks

Jocasta's Reading Room / Have Republic and Empire ended?
« on: October 3, 2006, 12:30 AM »
Did Dark Horse end these two series?

I see Republic up till #83 and Empire up till #40.

I can't seem to find anything saying they have ended, seems logical that they did considering the three new lines (unless Rebellion is just a single arc)

LEGO / Lego should make figure sets!

I remember Lego used to do 5 packs of just figures.  They could do that for Star Wars. Army builders.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Anyone know a reliable timeline?
« on: October 1, 2006, 12:46 AM »
Mainly for comics.  Actually, I'm DYING for a timeline that will place all the books, RPG stories, and comics on a single timeline.

I've been working on a list of the comics but am finding much frustration.  Dark Horse's site is lacking.  They tend to not state which issues are in which TPBs, are missing stories from their timeline, and appear to have some totally in the wrong place.

I got on JediNet.com's timeline and am finding similar troubles.  Everything between Episode I and Episode III is very unclear.

Any help would be most welcome.

Thanks

The Wookiee Arcade / Anyone Play Jedi Power Battles?
« on: September 26, 2006, 11:25 PM »
That's one of my all time favorite SW games.

I still have my PS1 memory card with the game my friend and I were doing.  We beat the game twice and were working on opening all the extra levels.

Darn I've got to hook up the PS1 again!  Good times

The Prequel Trilogy / The skinny on all things Clones!
« on: August 2, 2005, 09:35 PM »
I just finished reading my newly arrived Star Wars Insider #83 today!  It mentioned they'll have an article detailing all things clone in the next issue. (#84 for those of you in Rio Linda, hee hee)  :P

So wait for it in October.  Good stuff!

Newbies / dafoo (late, yep)

Yeah I'm slow  ;D

I'm 25 and live in the southern 'burbs of the Twin Cities, Minnesota. We moved here in Feb '04.

I collected Star Wars 4 inch figures, Action Fleet, Micro Machines, LEGOs, and Die Cast vehicles from about 1993-1999.  I also have most of the trading cards from 1993-1996 (Galaxy, widevision, Finest)

I had to stop due to a lack of funds.  I am pondering selling off much, if not all, of my collection.  I'm looking over your Classifieds forum now any suggestions on a reputable means to price items for that forum?

Surprisingly, my desire to buy the toys has pretty much gone away, but I still like to look and shoot the breeze about it.

I enjoy Star Wars books and comics, history, politics and long walks on the beach. :P

The Prequel Trilogy / Star Wars Back-to-back X 3!
« on: July 21, 2005, 06:41 PM »
I'm so hoping for this next summer.  If the TV show isn't coming till 2007, at least, they can fill 2006 with this.

Have Star Wars Saturdays at the local MEGAplex!  All 6 movies over the whole day!  Make it a super affair with like 30 minute intermissions and a 2 hour lunch.

$50 or so, and just go all out.  Have prizes and trivia competitions, Themed food.  OOOOH baby, I can't wait!

George'll love it too! That's like free money. lol

The Prequel Trilogy / Lightspeed tunnels?!

That's what's missing from Episode III!

I couldn't put my finger on it.  What gives George, I love the tunnel.

Hey Hasbro! / Hasbro Intervention?
« on: July 14, 2005, 11:02 PM »
What's say we compile an intervention letter to send to Hasbro's Star Wars dept.

Write up a letter about our sorrow at their 'lifestyle' and how we'd like to help

we could all sign it.  Concerned fans for our friend the 3.75 line

Star Wars Universe / What's up with the Jedi and the Vong?!
« on: July 5, 2005, 10:43 PM »
The Jedi were pathetic during the Vong invasion in NJO books!

I hated that!  So what you can't see the bums in the force. Ok just go Vader on them and hurl boulders at the idiots.  Or push all the air away from their heads, make little bubble voids and kill them.

Come on Jedi!

The Prequel Trilogy / Movies Should be able to stand alone!
« on: July 3, 2005, 05:12 PM »
I noticed comments about how RotS relies on other sources to rely information that just accepted in the movie.  I completely agree.

they never provide needed details about Greivous, Syfo Dius, or Lord Tyrannus.  They just are there and you should know about it already.

It is one thing to bring in EU elements to the movies, as long as they aren't just dropped in like a white elephant, but to rely on EU to explain things in the movies is just bad.

I'm reminded of the NJO books and how they made a couple of ebooks for it, that is then just accepted as having been known in the next real book.  Sure I hate ebooks, but I don't want to have to search around in other media and product types to find information.

Think about the trading cards too.  you can't be a completist anymore, cuz they hide promo/special/bonus cards all over the place.  In toys, games, books, mazagines.  Even Box and Case chase cards.  When they issues TWO sets of Special Edition cards (same cards with different borders) that's when I gave up collecting cards.

They just keep squeezing the turnip (us) for more cash. =(

Are they those lousey unposable 'army builder' sets?

Star Wars Universe / New Jedi Order!
« on: July 2, 2005, 11:49 PM »
I saw this mentioned elsewhere.  The NJO toys would be great, along with a lot of other EU toys.

Think of all the bad jedi you can get!  Right now you have a mess of good jedi toys, but only Dooku, vader, maul and Sidious.

4 bad guys!  you need more.  EU gives you that. =)  Instant playability all kids would like that

NJO is good too, as the bad guys are tough and evil looking.  Sure most fo the stories in the series stunk, and chewie died in the dumbest way, but lots of jedi and baddies.

Revenge of the Sith / Clone Army Packs... if only!
« on: July 2, 2005, 10:43 PM »
I saw talk about the Evolutions 3 packs.

Hey I'd shell out a pretty penny for some nice army packs. Not tiny simple 4-5 figures. but like 20.

have a nice write up included with all the details of the troops, colors, ranks, gear.

Do one for:
Ep1 droids
Ep1 Naboo/Senate guards troops
Ep2 droids
Ep2 Clones
Ep3 Droid
Ep3 Clones
Ep4-6 Rebellion troops
Ep4-6 Imperial troops
Expanded universe Good guys
Expanded Universe Bad guys

OOH I drool, just thinking about it!
