DN, he looks good and again you make one that really has that grimy war look.  I would love to maybe see a few non-military customs from you sometime, but if you like adding to your war machine then that's fine too.  I always enjoy your updates.

On this guy I think he's one of your better figures.  Really looks like he's seen a lot of action and would be a force to be reckoned with.  My favorite touch is the soft goods, they match perfectly for this figure.

God Job DN, like Brents said they always look battle hardened and tough, which when they've been at it for months it's great, but sometimes less is more on some customs, like captains and such, they don't tend to be the ones on the front line so they get less grit and dirt.

I really like that Eon J'Toul custom. He has that grimy war torn look that fits right into the star wars universe. Awesome work!

Thanks for everyone's comments. I'm trying to get back into customizing, I've been pretty off-and-on.

The Republic and the Kaminoans decided that they needed a specialized Commander to lead the AT-TEs as well as the larger artillery pieces (namely the SPHATs) in combat. They produced about 10 clones specially trained and certified in both leading and making good decisions as well as operating the vehicles themselves. Given a similiar uniform to those of the Clone Pilots, the Mobile Artillery Commanders are cool under pressure, battle-hardened, and of course, willing to do anything for the Republic. Here is Mobile Artillery Commander Kelco Arugald, who led the 2nd Squadron of AT-TEs and the SPHATs in combat on Geonosis.

Well, I hope you like him. LMK what you think, all comments are appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Also, check out my WIPs thread- I could use some suggestions on the Badoo Corba terrorist.

D_N

Me likey! The mix of parts is a good Prequel/OTC blend. I like the clips or pouches on the chest like that. Presumably this guy could or would operate the heavy gear which would require him to sit down, so bringing the supplies off the waist makes a lot of sense.

Good job.

That's a really interesting figure...  I think it's one of your better efforts combining "Earth Military" elements with Star Wars parts.  The Clone Pilot body is a great base for a lot of customs, and with the Imperial Trooper helmet it looks really believable.

The clip packs cover the chest piece well...

I think sometimes the painting is a little over the top, but that's just me.  I think it still looks good.

I think the colors on the uniform are unique...  I think I'd have tried to keep it more in line with the Clone Pilot duds as they appeared, just damaged up by a trooper who's seen some combat...  Still, your choice of colors is pretty good too, just different, and I like it nonetheless.

Nice work man.

I beleive I commanted more on another thread, but What the hell Ill do it again. ;D

I like the concept of this guy. It has a nice transitional Republic/ Empire look to it.
I never noticed the ammo pouches before its a nice touch, and I think it works really well.

The only real problem that I have with the last few guys youve done is the fact that they look like theyve been fighting on the muddiest planet in the galaxy. Some of them are great but too much weathering takes away from some really good work. I think if you lighten up a little theyll stand out more. BUt thats just my personal opinion. In the long run, as long as youre happy with your customs, thats all that really matters.

Looks good, all of your military customs always have that extreme war torn look to them.  Never an easy day in warfare.

The only thing I'd suggest is maybe giving him a more clean look on his face, but I love the parts used for the figure and the weathering looks good.

Well, I think that it's more my camera that exaggerates the weathering and such. They actually look okay in person, I seriously need to invest in a better camera.

I finsished the Terrorist, Riot Trooper, and I redid the Pilot- he has black stormtrooper boots and I'm changing his backstory into an Imperial Space Marine- pics soon.

I'm also working on another Coruscanti Riot Trooper, a sniper specialist. I'll finish these today and put up pics later.

If I find a Cody/Utapau Troop, they'll definitley be more soon although I'm running out of fodder and money to buy it with, so whenever you guys see a custom I've made, it means I just bought it a couple days ago.  :P

Well, we don't really have a Fan-Fic section here at good-old JD, but this story might have pictures added to it once I continue along the lines of the Coruscanti Anti-Riot Division. Here's a little skirmish from combat. The Commander is the Riot Trooper, the human sniper is a WIP, the white-face is the Badoo Corba Terrorist, and I haven't made either of the other troopers yet, just needed to add some character to the story.

Quote
CORUSCANT, EARLY DAYS OF THE EMPIRE

Commander Sorenn briefed his troops. "Allright, men. We've got an anti-clone riot down in B-Level, and they're dug in tight, for lack of a better term. Dyson," he said, referring to the non-clone sniper in the Anti-Riot Division, "make sure you have your helmet off and everybody, grab a sheild and stun rifle and move out."

B-LEVEL, THRONG OF ANTI-EMPIRE SUPPORTES

The white-faced human terrorist, Granhu Viys, stood among the large amount of rioters and troublemakers. He was armed with a prototype blaster rifle that was outlawed due to its high lethality and easy maintenance. He was ordered by his organization, the notorius Badoo Corba itself, to attend the riot and make a decisive first strike against the Empire. He had ceremoniusly painted his face and body white and black, and was prepared to die for his beliefs.

REPUBLIC GUNSHIP, EN ROUTE TO CORUSCANT B-LEVEL

Private Foha was nervous. This was his first excursion into battle, being one of the last-run clones made by the Kaminoans. He had a certain apprehension about the battle, a certain  dread, as though he knew that something bad was about to happen to his comrades as well as himself. He checked and rechecked the integrity of his shield as well as the gas canisters on his stun rifles.
"Alright, C Squad," the Commander said, turning around from the cockpit to face his fighting force. "We're about 3 minutes off. Prep up, it's gonna be heavy." The Gunship landed about 50 yards from the outskirts of the rioters. "Move out," he said, stepping off the ship onto the hard permacrete walkways that are the filthy lower streets of Coruscant.
A low roar erupted from the group as the soldiers approached. Granhu Viys raised his rifle and fired into the approaching phallanx of riot shields, his bolts deflecting harmlessly off the blast-proof surface of the shields. He didn't intend to harm anyone yet, just to cause the imminent chaos that soon erupted. The rest of the rioters took Viys' actions as the green-light to shoot low-bore blasters, rocks, vibroblades, and other weapons and projectiles at the advancing soldiers.
"Break up!" The Commander shouted. "Greenlight to engage, Stun only!". This was what Viys was waiting for. He raised his rifle once more, this time setting it for the highest blast setting and fired at the clones.
Private Foha saw the eerily white-faced terrorist with the mean-looking rifle and raised his in turn. He was too late, unfortunately, as a quartet of blaster fire moved up his chest, ending his short-lived life.
Sorenn saw one of his troopers fall and his stomach became filled with anger as well as dread, realizing that there was a lethal armed person in the chaos of B-Level. He raised the rest of the division on a private COM frequency. "All units, retreat to waiting Gunships. Situation has turned out casualties. I repeat, I'm ordering a full-scale retreat."
Cpl. Kord, on his way back to the ships, made sure he had blasted the white-face into oblivion before he made his way back to safety.

Well, I hope you like it. LMK what you think, all comments are appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Out of all of your Customs I like this Concept the Best! The Parts mix is excellent, a Good Blend of Prequel, Original Trillogy and Real World Parts. The Color Scheme is very appropriate, Even th Mud on the Uniform look pretty Good. Butt Please for Gods Sake Stop Feeding Your Customs Mud Pies! I know 5 O'clock Shadow is a Very Hard thing to pull off on a 3 3/4 Scale Face, but One Technique I've had Success w/ is using a Small Brush w/ a Flat Round Tip, after Dipping it in the Paint I Brush is on to a Paper Towel or card Board until it is almost completely Dry, Then I Stimple it on to the Cardboard to make sure I'm Going to get the Proper efect when I Apply it to the Figure. Remember lighter is better it's easier to apply more Paint than to Remove it.

Keep up the Great work.

Re: D_N's Customs- UPDATE 4/2- Coruscant ARD
« Reply #269 on: April 2, 2006, 06:49 PM »
Thanks for your comments, guys. In these customs here I took off the beards and face detail and I think they look alot better.

In the early days of the Empire, many citizens of the Republic were opposed to the Chancellor's actions as well as the wiping out of the Jedi Order, who had always seemed to be the peaceful protectors of all the galaxy. Many riots and anti-Empire rallies broke out all over the planet, especially in the heart of Coruscant City. The Emporor quickly order a legion of clones to have their armor changed and rushed to the city to show what happens to nay-sayers to the Imperial Army. For an example of the situations the ARD faced check out my fanfic story  "Early Violence".

Here is Commander Sorren of the Coruscant ARD (Anti-Riot Division.) I was messing around with lighting effects to get a dim Coruscant street look it, so I aplogize if you can't see them well.

And here is Private Foha, the one that was shot by the Badoo Corba terrorist, or maybe Corporal Kord, I haven't decided yet.

Well, I hope you like them. I'm working on another trooper, an Imperial boarding ship Pilot. I'll have pics later. LMK what you think, all comments are appreciated. Thanks for looking.
