Watto's Junk Yard / Re: LOST

Anyone else play the Lost: Via Domus game on the 360 yet? I picked up a cheap copy on eBay this week, and it arrived yesterday. Played a little last night, and some more this afternoon, and already have all 1000 achievement points. I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you can find it cheap, but it's definitely at least worth a rental if you're a fan. It kept me entertained.

Wow, that Bikerscout guy really thinks you JD staffers are idiots. Shame on you for not listening to him.

Good thread Jesse! I actually just caught up on the last three episodes of Battle 360 tonight. I watched the first one and loved it, so made a point to set the DVR to catch this show. I was really fascinated with the story of the USS Smith as well, and had never heard of that either. I love that the show has numerous actual vets of the battles, seeing them get choked up while discussing the burials at sea was pretty rough though. I just can't imagine experiencing something so traumatic that it still effects you sixty plus years later. It makes you really appreciate what they went through

I've been in a DS mood lately...

You already have your THREE missing pieces, and it takes 30-60 days to get me a freaking tiny metal rod!?

Got mine ordered just fine too. The $90 price tag really stinks, but at least I had some reward points to use on it. If the armored figures are going to all be this pricey, I don't think I'll be too worried about picking very many others.

I received an email back to, and in a short 30-60 days, my part should arrive in their warehouse and get sent along to me. Yay.

Do you think Janice had implants too?

Look at this and tell me your non Star Wars friends wouldn't mock you for this worse than a Leia or anything else they could have potentially made. This figure is begging to be passed on to your kid sister to dress up.

I've never been less excited to get a processing email from Sideshow. I don't know what's stopped me from cancelling my preorder, I obviously have zero desire to own this. I just can't see myself opening it up and displaying it with my other 12" figures. Pretty sure it would be a source of ridicule from anyone that saw it. Hey Jake Gyllenhaal, nice looking Barbie you got there...

I just opened up my set and I'm missing the metal rod for the senate cam is missing. This is two orders in a row that I've gotten from Sideshow that have been screwed up. I was lucky enough to get the Stealth Iron Man Maquette, and when i opened it up to display it there were seven different very noticable scratches in the paint. They're supposed to be getting me a replacement, but it's going to take 60 days. All of the scratches could have been avoided too if they had just taken more care in placing it in the styrofoam.

Crazy weather in Tennessee right now, so far 4 confirmed dead from the round of storms that's rolling through right now. I was at the Predators game tonight, and we ended up under a Tornado warning with about five minutes to go in the third period. They had everything stay after the game ended and wait through the worst of the storms. I just got home about a half hour ago, and am waiting for the next rounds to hit. Looks like they're still a couple of hours away. 72 degrees right now, we be down to 18 by Sunday night. Gotta love that.

I know I'm going to be in the minority here, but I saw There Will Be Blood last night, and really didn't care for it at all. I went in with really high expectations, but walked out three hours later feeling nothing but disappointment. DDL was fantastic, I have nothing but great things to say about his performance, as was the actor that played Eli/Paul. Typically I like to leave a movie feeling like I got something out of it, and honestly I don't feel like there was anything redeeming about this movie other than the performances of the actors (and I say actors because I'm pretty sure there wasn't a single actress cast in the entire movie, other than the old lady with the arthritis and the little girl that gets beat up for not praying).

I haven't enjoyed anything Radiohead has done in pretty much the last decade, and the score for this movie has done nothing to change my view. I went into the movie rather blindly, not knowing that the guitarist for Radiohead was responsible for the mess I was subjected to during the course of the movie, and I can easily say it's the most distracting score I've ever had to suffer through. All it succeeded in doing for me was drive the final nail in the coffin of how I felt about this movie.

These complaints aside, I did walk out with a new appreciation for milkshakes, and will probably be screaming "Bastard in a Basket" for the foreseeable future. I love non-mainstream movies as much as anyone, but personally don't see how anyone can say this holds a candle to No Country For Old Men, which I thought was absolutely brilliant. Maybe PTA needs Cormac McCarthy to show him how to write a script that makes proper use of an amazing character. Also the fact that Into The Wild was left out of the awards circuit while this wasn't is a travesty in my opinion.

Depends on what you like to do. Head down to Broadway or 2nd Ave and hit up some of the bars. If Colman was around this site anymore he would demand you go to Wildcats for him. Check out Printers Alley, it's always got some good live music.  If you into historical sites, The Hermitage is close to where you are staying. It's Andrew Jackson's house/plantation. Stones River Battlefield in Murfreesboro is a cool Civil War experience if you're into that. If you're still in town on Thursday, the Predators are back in town facing the Blue Jackets.
