Title: Got the Falcon, but did I get ripped off?
Post by: Firebat on April 4, 2005, 10:33 AM
The other day I bought a vintage Falcon. It looks pretty good. No stickers, a little yellowing. I paid $50 for it. Is that fair?

I'd love to tell you, but I honestly don't know as I don't follow vehicle pricing at all.  If it's complete with all the internal and external parts it should be pretty decently priced, I'd guess.

Yes, like Brent mentioned, having all the internal and external parts makes a difference. The training ball is the part that is most lost and can be very pricey to obtain. Looking the the completed auctions, a Falcon complete can fetch up to $80.00 loose so without the training ball and arm looks like to be around the $30.00 to $45.00 range.

Dale- what if I HAVE the training ball and everything else, stickers are on, and paid less than 3$ for it? Is that a good deal? Did I mention it does NOT have the training ball's arm? Are the parts ever sold like that..like, lets say I need the training ball armature..how much? :-\

$3?  Clearly you were ripped off.  You shouldn't have paid more than $2.  :P

The Falcon ball & arm is fairly lost do to it's size, original replacements can be found but they are mostly sold together around the $12. - $22. range on the bay. As a guess for the arm by it's self, you would be looking around $15. but I think you would be better off getting the whole set togther as the arm rarely comes up alone.  :-\

thanks, Dale. How do I search for that? Type in Mill. falcon parts?

Type in Falcon ball arm, that would narrow it down.

Although I don't collect vintage that often, I like to check it out from time to time to see what's going on.

One trend that I always see is that patience pays off.  Just keep looking and you'll find the parts you need eventually.

And $3 for a nearly complete falcon is way too much!   :P
