Drilling more oil won't do anything to help prices when we don't have any excess refining capacity to put more gas on the market.
Aren't the oil companies going to use their billions in profits to build more refineries?
I know you already know this but why would they want to take their huge profits and then build refineries that would drive the prices down and reduce their profits?

Well, if you look at it in the context of Wal-Mart business practices, volume may be the key. Even if oil prices dropped because of more refining capacity, they may be able to post bigger profits.
Cheaper gas = more Americans driving = increased consumption of oil.
I know my driving habits have changed because of the bleak outlook of gas prices. Hell, I don't even go shopping at the brick and mortars anymore when it comes to electronics, movies and toys.
