I could have sworn that I have seen a thread like this here before, but for some reason I couldn't find it.  I'm sorry if I am duplicating...

Anyways, how many of you out there are pet owners, or would like to be some day?  Personally, I have always been an animal person.  I grew up on a farm, and aside from the "livestock" we have had a number of dogs and cats over the years as well.  My wife and I are both dog people, and really have a soft spot for them.  We are the proud owners of a now 4-year old Beagle.  We got him when he was six weeks old, which was about 6 months or so before we got married as well.  I have always been really fond of our dogs over the years, but we have never been so attached to an animal before.  I personally have never had a house dog before (parents wouldn't let us growing up), but our beagle pretty much has the run of the house.  The fact that I have been working at home now for a little while has made it even worse, as he is right by my side each minute of the day...and follow me everywhere.  We don't have any children yet, but he is pretty much our kid...we treat him that way it seems, and would never want anything bad to happen to him.

Anyways, any other pet owners out there....or just pet/animal people?  Lets hear about your furry, feathery, or fishy friends (or whatever else you might have).

Congrats Mikey, I hope that the new job is everything you are looking for...and that you are happy and successful.  Good luck on the house front too, my wife and I are looking to move (hopefully soon) as well...and get our first "real" house.  Right now we live in a modular home (which is nice, and we like), but it doesn't have a basement or garage...so we're hoping to move on to something with a little more room to stretch, etc.  Best of luck!

Depending on price and availability (and space in our house) at the time, I might pick up all of these.  Personally, I don't have any of these vehicles, so they're all pretty much new to me.  I do have Jango's Slave 1 (which Boba's might be based off of?), but I'd really like to have Boba's in my collection too.  I'm definitely down for the Sandcrawler, and hopefully the Y-Wing and Vader's Tie as well.  I remember seeing the POTF2 Y-Wing one time, and I hid it and thought I could pick it up later as we left the mall (Target was in the mall at that time), but when I came back it was gone.  No big deal, but I should have just picked it up.  Anyways, nice to hear there are some more vehicles coming our way this year....especially with some OT-flavor

According to reports I read at both TheJawa.com, as well as the Jedi Temple Archives, the latest Insider (along with confirming those ships), has this tidbit on the Original Trilogy Collection:

 And, if that was not enough news for you there was the confirmation that the OTC basic line will include only 2 waves of newly sculpted characters. The Dagobah wave will kick the line off, re-carded figures will hit the shelves during the year and the Cloud City wave will round out 2004. The figures on the Retro Cards will "have added articulation and deco - more than Hasbro usually includes on basic figures".

So I guess that might be some sort of confirmation that there's only two waves of "new" figures for the rest of the year.  I thought we might see some more surprises towards the end of the year, and maybe we still will.  They'll be starting up the Episode 3 hype machine by then, so you never know.

Its pretty much the same around here Mainland, the biggest pegwarmers are:

Dignitaries - both of them at Target, Wal-Mart, and TRU
Bail Organa - nice figure, but pegwarming big time at TRU and some Wal-Marts
R-3PO - another nice figure, but I have seen quite a few lately
Achk-Med Beq - I've never bought one, but if I want one I shouldn't have to worry...he's everywhere .
repacked figures - not terrible, but I've seen quite a few of the younglings, Aayla, and Barriss, as well as a couple SC Anakins.  Nothing too bad though.
Animated Clone Wars - sold really well at first, starting to sit.  Only some of them though (Asaaj, Anakin, Obi, Dooku seem to be the worst around here).

Although I haven't really gotten any new comics since the very early 90s, I have dug out my old ones every so often, and do sometimes have the urge to get into the comics again.  Some of them still have the nostalgia factor much the way Star Wars does with me.  I can still remember my first comic (Spiderman) that my dad bought for me to read during a long trip out to a vacation.  I guess I credit some of the recent comic movies, as well as action figures, with rekindling my comic interest as well.  There are so many more titles or variations on certain characters and teams now that weren't there when I was a kid and buying comics.  Anyways, I was curious what some of your favorites are, or were.  For me personally, I tend to still favor the same ones I did as a kid...which I suppose aren't the most original ones in the world .  For me it has been these (past and present):

X-Men: When I was a kid, had mainly the "Uncanny X-Men" comics.  Wolverine was one of my early favorites, but got away from him a little bit because everyone liked him it seemed.  My other favorites, then and now, are Beast, Iceman, and Colossus.  The movies and the Marvel Legends figures really got my interested in these characters again.  I have been tempted to pick up one of the comics, but know absolutely nothing about the current titles...what is good...or what characters are included in each.  Plus, I already collect toys...I doubt my wife would be crazy if I added comics in too .

Spiderman: Again, probably not real original, but this was another big favorite of mine as a kid.  I remember really liking the "Spiderman and his Amazing Friends" cartoon that was on back in the day (and ABC Family had it back on for awhile during the movie craze).  This is probably what I had the most comics of, ranging from just plain Spiderman to Amazing, Spectacular, and "Web of".  I also remember my Secret Wars Spidey figure getting a lot of play back then too.  I enjoyed the first movie as well, although I wasn't crazy about the Goblin's look...really looking forward to Doc Ock in Spidey 2.

Batman: Really the only DC character I got into much as a kid.  Bats has always been a favorite of mine, and I still enjoy catching the animated series, Justice League, etc. when it is on.  Had quite a few of the comics, and a couple of TPBs as well.  Also had his "Super Powers" figure, as well as others from that line.  I enjoyed the first couple of movies, but they went downhill from there.  Looking forward to the new one next year, hopefully they do it up right.

Those were basically the main three for me, but as I said I also had a number of the "Super Powers" and "Secret Wars" figures as a kid.  I really enjoyed the "Super Friends" show as well, and is probably why I enjoy Justice League today.  Basically, my comics back then consisted of X-Men, Spidey, and Bats....but I also had a fair amount of Iron Man comics, a couple Hulk ones, as well as some Wolverine ones.  I remember my mom letting me get a comic at the local drug store after I had been to the doctor or dentist as a kid.  Overall, I would say that the Marvel Universe is my favorite.  I do like some DC Characters (Bats, of course, as well as many who appeared on the Justice League team)...but overall I am more familiar with the Marvel Universe characters.  What are some of your faves?
