I think i finally cleaned out all the local discount stores, but I did stumble across a TRU express yesterday with $15 Naboo Starfighters. I grabbed the only two they had. It was reported awhile ago that these were hitting there, but I hadn't personally seen it til yesterday. Good buy!

TV-9D9 / Re: The Clone Wars - Season Five Discussion Thread

That sucks, I had heard about that issue too. I guess some people got it to work by "updating" their Blu-Ray player via a web connection, but I don't know the exact steps.

I'm about 6 episodes in to my Season 5 disc so far, and I haven't noticed any issue with the audio synchronization so far, although I gather it is more noticeable in the Mandalore arc. We'll see...

That's awesome, Scott! I wish that seller would put up some animated Clone Wars prototypes for auction, I need to keep growing that part of my collection.

Middle Earth / Re: The Hobbit - Toy Line
« on: December 3, 2013, 11:21 PM »
I finally picked up Invisible Bilbo from a UK seller on eBay tonight, and for a great price, so that is a nice get. I'm on the verge of breaking down and ordering Azog and Radagast too...

I really hope the new movie does well and somehow resuscitates the line, but I'm not overly optimistic. It would be great if the rest of the stuff they showed off found its way out through Vivid, if nothing else.

I'm also curious how far, if at all, they got into designing/sculpting a Smaug, or if that was always off the table due to sheer size.

It's compelling to the show runners though because it's much easier to keep the costs down when you only have to pay a handful of the "name" actors each episode. I'm sure that's a big reason why they do it. I agree that the ensemble episodes are more enjoyable, but sadly I think it's a moot point when the decisions are driven by economics rather than storytelling.

Psyched for Abraham!

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 2
« on: December 3, 2013, 11:19 AM »
I think the scale as it relates to the figures collectively is a little wonky. Everyone talks about Leia and R2, but Pilot Luke is absolutely shrimpy IMO. He looks like a pre-teen.

It doesn't bother me all that much really, individually these are still nice interpretations.

Other Toy Lines / Re: NECA Aliens/Prometheus
« on: December 2, 2013, 03:14 PM »
Nice timing, our local TRU just put the whole Prometheus line on clearance so I got the other 3 figures and 2-pack I needed for about $50...not too shabby.

Now I just need the 2 Holographic figures in Wave 3 and I guess I'm done. Time to start shopping online for those, I know they are never going to show up here.

I have found both of the first two waves at the local brick and mortar TRU. They are located in the Neca section, near the Expendables, McFarlane Sports figs, Hobbit stuff, Walking Dead stuff, Robocop stuff, etc. That aisle has become my first stop even before Star Wars.

They sell out VERY quickly here though so you may just be looking for a shelf tag.

I'm not sure if our TRU will stock the 18" figures or not. I have been hoping so but may have to resort to buying them online. Seems like they would want those out on the floor in time for the holidays but who knows.

Good luck! They are great figures, hope you can find them!

Anyone finding any good Cyber Monday deals for toys, would love to hear about them here. I guess HTS has 25% off and free shipping today, their site is very slow though.

Yep, good catch on Clara, I didn't realize that was her until they mentioned it on TD.

For all the talk about Phillip's posse, they actually acquitted themselves MUCH better than the first group. No one turned tail and ran when the bullets started flying, no one freaked out, they just kept coming, even after Phillip himself got iced. Other than the Mom I don't know if anyone was left on their side at the end. And for a bunch of people that had never seen any live combat they handled themselves pretty well, IMHO. Those two bearing down on Tyreese were all business.

I guess the gay daughter survived too? Will we ever see her again?

Yeah, should have jumped on that in hindsight. Oh well, maybe he will turn up again. Glad you guys got him!

Holy Crap!

What an amazing mid-season finale, so many things happened! I'm gonna have to post like 5 times just to recall everything.

Top 5 TV deaths ever! I agree it could have been a little more severe, I was screaming for decapitation, or at the very least ripped apart by walkers. I'll take it though, sayonara SOB!

Darryl drilling Mitch - awesome! (Grenade in the tank turret, also awesome)

Those girls saving Tyreese's ass, totally, totally awesome!

Overall, was a much better assault than the previous Woodbury effort, was more in line with what I was expecting. We even got the obligatory "Kill them all!" line. :)

Hard to sort out who ended up where, we definitely got Rick and Carl on the road at the end, and those peeps on the bus, including Glenn. Definitely need to watch the re-run.

{Hey, that 1971 M60 tank was used in Vietnam, thanks Talking Dead!}

Also liked: Rick's speech, and Hershel's smile at the end. Sad to see him go, I agree it is tough to keep losing the good actors and part of the core group at that. I guess Judith could be alive if someone with bloody hands had just grabbed her out of the car seat, didn't have to have been her blood.

The rodent dissection was very disturbing, definitely some escalating behavior going on there. And what WAS in Bob's secret shoe box? The booze or maybe something creepier?

Bring on Arlington!

Agreed on the mystery guest.

My current odds:

Judith 2:1
Mitch 3:1
Hershel 3:1
Hershel's other daughter who is NOT named Maggie 4:1
Crazy medic Bob 4:1
Maggie and/or Glenn 6:1
Phillip 10:1
Anyone else 20:1

I can't see them doing Sasha after Tyreese is still reeling from Karen's death, but who knows. She could be a good candidate too. At least Carol is safe. Not so sure about her girls though...

Saga Legends / Re: Saga Legends "Mission Series" Figure 2-Packs

I don't mind waiting either, but it does seem pretty lame they cannot get these on shelves before Christmas. How many months has Wave 1 been out already?
