Title: Hasbro "Fan First" Livestream TVC 3.75" Reveals
Post by: P-Siddy on January 29, 2021, 11:49 AM
Some nice drops for TVC on the Fan Friday, unfortunately, Walmart gets the TVC "Complete the Original 96" line?  The 3 shown were: AT-ST Driver, Paploo, and Endor Leia.  Lando (Bespin) was show to be on the way later in the year, though it is not know if this will be a part of the Walmart exclusive line.

Just Clone Wars Ahsoka and Maul for TVC today. Not exclusives.

The livestream was enlightening. They opened with Patrick acknowledging that the ball was dropped on some preorders recently, without calling out any retailers or items. He said they will reevaluate how early they offer preorders on some items from now on. Not long after, they revealed three new ROTJ TVC figures that will be exclusive to WalMart, and said preorders will be posted later. So if you take that all into consideration, they are aware that the preorder experience at WalMart was hurting the brand, and are attempting to correct it.

I’m not positive, but I got the impression that it was just Ashoka/Maul for TVC today.

As for today’s reveals, overall pretty good. I was actually getting pretty excited about the “Complete the 96” reveals until they said they were coming to WM. I really hope the reason that those figures aren’t going up today is that Hasbro is having Wal-Mart figure things out better for these preorders.

Overall I’m pretty excited for what is coming, but WM exclusives have been kind of a disaster here locally, not sure if I’ve seen any at an actual physical store. The preorders for me have been hit and miss. Some (eventually) get here, others get cancelled. The figures that were announced, or teased in the pipeline, sound great. Glad to see Lando (finally) getting an update.

Side note, I noticed that they said Lando is “first time in the vintage collection”, so does that mean they aren’t counting the VOTC/VTSC figures in the 96 count? If so, that means we could use quite a few ANH updates (which with photo real, I’d be ok with).

Are any of these figures new, of just repackaged rereleases on Vintage cards?

The Maul and Ashoka are new (up for order now).  The others are just old with the new face apps

Maul and Ahsoka both look really good.

Paploo?  It looks like a different Ewok.  Someone on a FB group was saying that the figure looks like Lumat with some modifications.  The AT-ST Driver looks like one from the Kmart exclusive 2-packs with photo real deco.  And I recall hearing during the livestream that Leia's headsculpt has been updated along with the deco, and the softgoods are different, too.  But it still seems to be based largely on the VTSC figure.

Glad to see IG-11 get officially confirmed.  I'm curious why Kuiil wasn't part of the presentation.  An updated Lando seems like it would have been a good idea last year.  I'm curious to see how they've updated him.  The VOTC Lando figure is what, 17 years old now?  That figure seems to be deserving of an update.

I'll plop some money down for Paploo...I missed the Saga version and the secondary market is unreasonable.

If I see an AT-ST Driver and his face is printed correctly in place I might bite.

Leia's poncho is too poofy. I bought the 5POA one with the molded poncho and that one will continue to do for me. I took the poncho off the TSVC version to serve as General Leia, and I don't feel like spending $14 for that with a new head, since it isn't that great of a figure.

I don't do Clone Wars either, so those figures are a pass.

Bespin Lando needs to be a ground-up brand-new figure. And my TVSC IG-88 fell apart over the years, so I am not looking forward to that figure either. I bought one of the Clone Wars IG droids to fill that gap a year ago.

So, yeah, I'll get Paploo I guess.

I’m currently traveling (family emergency) and missed the livestream.  I also missed placing orders for Ashoka and Maul on Hasbro Pulse.  Luckily, they are still available on Entertainment Earth.

I want multiples of the AT-ST driver and probably a couple of Leias....but I am not at all happy they are exclusive to Walmart.

I missed that part, but it would have been nice if they said they would rectify the situation by offering these on Pulse.

It seemed like a cruel joke that after that whole big wind-up at the top of the livestream, the first wave of TVC figures they announced were Walmart exclusives.  WTF???

Especially because the whole “96” thing has been something that at least the original fan base has been calling for for years. I get the need for retailer exclusives, it is just part of the business at this point, but for something like these original 96 - which are mostly repacks or refreshes with either face scan or minor updates - it seems like it would be perfectly suited as a Pulse or Fan Channel exclusives.

Lando Bespin should be in the wave with IG-11 and Kuiil in Winter 2021.

I think it's just more proof that they really aren't paying attention to what they are doing or have done.   :-\

You give them too much credit!

Hasbro will probably put Sim Aloo in a special 3-pack along with Emporer Palpatine and Vader for a summer convention exclusive.  And THEN they'll all get re-issued on individal cards as Walmart exclusives... IN 2023!

Another Hasbro Pulse livestream with the Star Wars team is coming up tomorrow.  What to expect?  Here's what I'm hoping for in the realm of TVC:

-I'd personally like to see a full reveal of 2021 wave 6 / new TVC wave 21, along with a look at the basic carded Emporer figure
-A first look at the Nevarro playset
-The Razor Crest update - final look, packaging and delivery target date

But I’m going to be careful not to hold my breath.

I'd be happy with any movie/show figures that are all new characters.

If they want to stay modern I'd be fine if it were all The Mandalorian, Bad Batch, and Book of Boba Fett.

That would all be fine too.  Also there are a hundred cool figures they could make from the sequel trilogy - plenty from the Prequels even.

Just NEW stuff... please.

But I’m going to be careful not to hold my breath.

When was the last time that we got an all-new, never before made 3.75" OT figure?   Was there one after Mosep in 2015?

I am going to set the bar very, very low for TVC tomorrow to avoid disappointment.  I am assuming they will save any "NEW" new reveals for Pulse Con in October.  My guesses for tomorrow -

- reveal the next batch of Fall 3.75" Carbonized repaints (Armorer, Gideon, ?)
- provide an update on Razor Crest (maybe... 50/50 if they save this for Oct Pulse Con too)
- and then the rest of the time will be Black Series 6" stuff

I could be mistaken, but I think the Entertainment Earth Droid 6-Pack came out after Mosep, and had R2-C2 and R2-A5 for the first time ever.  If so, that was the last time I can recall.

EDIT:  Wasn't one of the Skiff Guards in the 3-Pack from a couple of years ago technically an all new character?

I didn't count the droids in that pack because they were repaints of an existing sculpt.

Oh, yeah - Vedain in the TVC 3-pack in 2019.  So ONE all-new OT figure in 2015 and then ONE all-new OT figure in 2019.  Look for ONE all-new OT figure in 2023, I guess! :P

Title: Re: Hasbro "Fan First" Livestream TVC 3.75" Reveals
Post by: Nicklab on September 7, 2021, 04:11 PM
The realization that the last two all new OT characters in 3.75” figure form came out in 2015 and 2019 is damned depressing.  And Hasbro’s approach since 2019 doesn’t inspire much confidence.  All the new figure love seems to go to The Mandalorian and Clone Wars / The Bad Batch.

It leaves me wondering what characters in the OT would be completely new offerings, get a reasonable amount of screen time or play a significant enough role in a big scene in order to get consideration.

I can think of about 4 characters from the Cantina, and about as many from Jabba’s palace.  Accomplishing that would probably take at least 6 years considering the pace of things right now.

Using old sculpts to make new characters / droids / whatever doesn't bother me.  They count as far as I'm concerned.  But even if you did count them, it's sad how rare it is to just get a brand new cool figure.  At least Mandalorian is getting some attention, but we're heading into season 3 and have what, a dozen figures made?!

I'm not one to incessantly complain about Hasbro, but I wish they'd change leadership for this brand to someone who appreciates the grand scheme more...

Started up new threads for the new stuff, but here are the pipeline reveals:

Next Black Series Archive Wave:
- Emperor Palpatine
- Skiff Guard Lando
- ANH C-3PO
- Dengar

TVC 3.75" Pipeline reveals:
- repack Yoda
- repack 501st Clone Trooper
- CW Mandalorian Death Watch Airborne Trooper
- ANH Figrin Dan

Figrin Dan?!?  ???   Makes me wonder if an ANH Cantina Playset will be coming soon....?

Ah, the TVC pipeline reveals.  Where to start?

I was working during the livestream so I couldn't completely focus on what was being said.  I am hoping that Yoda is not a pure reissue.  Because the VC-20 Yoda figure is a bit of a bastard.
-It was released with both Revenge Of The Sith and Return of the Jedi cardbacks (the image on the ROTJ card is from TESB)
-Is this supposed to be a ROTS or TESB Yoda?  Because they look different
-The cloak / robe is different.  ROTS version should be cleaner and have a hood.  TESB version should be dirtier and have no hood
-TESB Yoda should have the belt and flute (like the Cave of Evil release)
-The accessories are pure Revenge Of The Sith

....Hasbro should figure this out.  Try making distinctly different versions of Yoda - PLEASE!

501st Clone Trooper?  Yes, please.  A good reissue.

And the really new reveals?  Glad to see that Death Watch Airborne Trooper and Figrin Dan.  The closest thing Figrin Dan ever got to a basic card release was in a Walmart exclusive multipack, but that was still years ago.  It's about time one of the Cantina band members got a basic figure release, and this one really makes sense.

I'd be happy with the Black Series 3.75" ESB Yoda.  Such a fantastic figure!

The 501st Clone Trooper - if they use the Jesse/Fives/Echo tooling, I'm in for a legion of these figures!

Death Watch Airborne Trooper - I'm in for a enough to make a large squad.

Frigin Dan - Really?  I might buy one.

Retro Stormtrooper Prototype
Troop Builder Pack
Teebo
Lando
IG-11
Palpatine

Bib Fortuna and Lobot, or no?

Am I missing anything in TVC / 3.75" scale?

Entertainment Earth is already taking pre-orders for the Lobot and Bib Fortuna via the purchase the case option.

1x Bib Fortuna
1x Mythrol
2x Bo Katan Kryze
2x Kuiil
1x Hoth Rebel Soldier
1x Lobot

Seems like a decent packout since I really only need one Bib Fortuna and Lobot.

Good luck to the folks after the Retro Prototype Stormtrooper!

I've already started working on the priorities that I have for today's preorder bonanza:

VINTAGE COLLECTION
TVC wave case (Lando, IG-11, Palpatine & Teebo)
TVC individual figures - 1 x Lobot & 1 x Bib Fortuna (I already ordered the case which only has one of each)

Troop builder 4-packs - I'm good for 2 of these

BLACK SERIES
Gaming Greats Jet Trooper
Credit Collection Mandalorian
Credit Collection Armorer

The TVC Carbonized Collection is a total pass for me.  And I'm just going to pick and choose what I want from the Black Series Credit Collection

I ordered a case of the Lando/IG-11/Teebo/Palpatine wave from EE.  I'm assuming they are 2 each per case/

I also ordered a few more IG-11s in that EE order.

I preordered the Rey Lightsaber and 4 Troop builder packs (had to make two orders because they limit you to two).  My Stormtrooper Army is growing!

I ordered a case with the Bib Fortuna and Lobot earlier since they were available early this morning on EE.

I ordered all six new vintage from Pulse plus the Stormtrooper pack.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy and hopefully they will show up in good condition.  My last few orders from Amazon have had beat up packages.

Retro Stormtrooper was easy to get on Target as well. Limit of two, so will be fun tracking down the other four.

I'm passing on Gamestop for now - I don't love the reissue stuff as much as I used to, but will probably nab it if I see it in person.  Their stuff has thankfully been a lot easier to find in stores lately.

Using Hasbro Pulse as a guide, I'm surprised none of the pre-order items put out there have sold out.  Did they up the quantity of items available?  Are these figures not as popular as anticipated?
Did people go and purchase more cases of figures than the ala cart figure option? Interesting to see which of these are correct.

That being said, I'm willing to bet if they didn't limit the number of troop builder packs they would've probably sold out.

I wish we had access to the production numbers.  I would think the way things have sold out the past few years, they're probably either making more or timing the pre-orders with production to allow them to make more if needed.  That 6" Endor set was a great example of how to do it: Offer up pre-orders for the first run of product to get it out there, then have another wave of unlimited pre-orders that you just convert to a production number once the preorder window closes.

What a steaming pile of **** they’ve revealed so far.  Reused Vader.  A Clone Trooper.  Another Target retro prototype.  A Starkiller reissue.  And a ROTJ Han Solo.  The only decent item is Piett, but you know they only did that to slap ten more heads on the sculpt and sell it to us over and over again.

How horrifically boring.

I see that Pipeline reveals are (from yakface since I missed this):
- Luke Skywalker (BoBF, training outfit)
- Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader (Battle-damaged) 2 pack
- Speeder Bike from Mandalorian
- The Mandalorian's N1 Starfighter.

So, mostly repaints here with some retooling and perhaps a new vehicle?

Also,
- Phase II Clone from Andor
- Phase II Clone Troop Builder 4-pack (Utapau) with Waxer being one
- The prototype is The Mandalorian
- Plus, I thought I saw a BoBF retro line, too.

It's far from being interesting anymore.  The line has been pared down so much that Hasbro seems forced to hit only certain main characters and troopers now.  Piett is the outlier here, but then it's because Hasbro is going to start knocking out Imperial officers left and right thanks to the new tooling.

The rank badge thing is going to come back to haunt us.  I'm certain of it.  No doubt Hasbro will do some kind of presentation of him as Captain Piett and then Admiral Piett on TESB cards.  All because some costume designers for ROTJ didn't respect the continuity from TESB.

Sure, there weren’t new characters. But I love the new Phase II clone trooper (Andor).  And it’s being used for the trooper builder pack. The detail on Waxer’s helmet in that 4-pk makes it an absolute buy for me.

I would have picked up Han (new tooling above the waist) anyway but seeing it in his shrug pose -- I think that’s how I will display it.

Chris from Bantha Skull posted an image of a Walmart planogram that didn't have any peg space for The Vintage Collection.  But planograms always come with a caveat, because not every store has the exact same planogram.

The only preorder option that I think is open at this time is the TVC case with Cassian Andor in the Aldhani heist disguise.

Based on the cardbacks shown yesterday, TVC is switching assortment numbers.  Wave 30 (DSII Vader, Bunker Han, Howzer, Weequay) are listed under Assortment F6878 (the previous assortment number is E7763).

That could be why the TVC has dropped off the Walmart planogram as Walmart moves out the old assortment # and prepares for the new #?

So, if this is true, then does that mean the Original 96 line is dead?

That's a very good question.  Store planograms are seasonal.  They might be in effect for only a few months.

The end of preorders signals a potential change for Hasbro.  I suspect that Target and Walmart were not faring well from a sales standpoint because of the overwhelming number of collectors who had taken to only making preorders.  Traffic into stores probably dropped dramatically.  But the reality is that those big chains have far more purchasing power than the EE's, BBTS's, etc of the world.  Hasbro needs to cater to those accounts because of the volume in sales that they represent.

But then you have to look at the Original 96 line in 2022, and the way Walmart handled that last exclusive wave most closely resembled a monkey trying to **** a football.  It wasn't pretty.  I don't know anyone personally who ever found those figures in a store.  Many preorders got canceled.  And now EE is offering that wave and helping to clean up the mess.  AND THEY GOT THE BEST STORMTROOPER HASBRO HAS EVER MADE IN 3.75"!!!

I'm really uncertain about where things are going to go from here.

And when these big retailers can't even handle pre-orders correctly...  allowing pre-ordering too early and they're sold out by the time they're supposed to drop, or failing to put pre-orders up at the given time, or allowing people to buy up multiples, to repeatedly cancelling orders.

I don't know.  Sometimes these retailers do it to themselves.

TVC - all mainline items, Pre-Order 8/30 @ 1pm ET:
- Morgan Elsbeth (Ahsoka), HK-87 Assassin Droid (Ahsoka), VC300 General Hera (Ahsoka)

Pipeline reveals:
- TVC basic = Chopper (Ahsoka), Rex (Bad Batch), Darth Vader (ANH), refresh/repack Stormtrooper, refresh/repack R2-D2, refresh/repack X-Wing Luke, all-new ANH Princess Leia.
- TVC DLX =  Jango Fett
- TVC 2-PK = repaint Jedi Revan and repaint HK-47

Jeff's TVC thoughts/comments:
- $28 deluxe Jango Fett that probably re-uses a lot of Fett parts... ::)
- REX from the Bad Batch before any of the other actual Bad Batch members?!? ::)
- ANOTHER Darth Vader based on that Dark Times sculpt... ::)
- refresh/repack Stormtrooper, R2-D2, X-Wing Luke...  I don't mind these, but it makes me wonder if an X-Wing is coming along with Luke/R2?
- repaint Revan / HK-47 - didn't take them long to reuse that new Revan sculpt :P

I'm pretty excited about the reveals overall. I know it's kind of a bummer that Jango is deluxe, but I'm hoping he comes with the pilot head, regular head, helmet head and both jetpacks. I'd like to one-and-done Jango, and the existing figure we have for him is really showing its age.

Very happy to hear about Leia...so important that we're getting her, and that they acknowledged the MakeTheMains campaign. Let's hope ANH Han and Luke aren't far behind.

I'm so pleased with the DS2 Vader, and the ANH Vader we have is pretty crappy, so with this new ANH Vader I think we can pretty much say we have all the Vaders accounted for. The battle damaged Kenobi Vader will be a good addition, even though he's scene specific...not sure there are any others aside from this except for Anakin-Vader from the duel on Mustafar, but that can be double-dipped with a new ROTS Anakin.

I hope so too... but the pessimist in me expects another double-dip.  One backpack and bonus accessories in the DLX pack and then he'll make his way into the mainline with the other jetpack and less accessories. #ClassicDoubleDip

Interesting pipeline reveals.

-Chopper obviously needed to be new.  I don't think there was going to be any way around that.
-Jango Fett - this is curious because the previous Jango Fett release was a mainline figure, and not a deluxe release.  In the recent Q&A sessions Hasbro has communicated that the cost of deco has risen substantially.  Does that hold true for Jango as well?  At that price point I am expecting both of the jet packs to be included.  I am expecting to see some of the parts from the Death Watch Mandalorian Airborne Trooper to get recycled here.  And hopefully the likeness is going to be much better in light of how good Hasbro has gotten with the clone likenesses.  Will they include the pilot headgear?  Or a swappable head for that?  We'll see.
-Rex.  This one has me wondering since he was cited as being from "The Bad Batch".  The version in the 4-pack was, shall we say, LACKING.  It's built on the old Clone buck.  The Kama looks wrong.  The electroboniculars were not a regular thing for Rex.  And while the face looked better, the hair looked nothing like Rex's.  I'm wondering if this will be an instance of Hasbro trying to make things right, or a reissue?  I feel slightly optimistic because in other parts of the Pipeline reveals Emily was very specific about some other figures being "refreshes".

-Darth Vader was a little surprising at first - at least until Hasbro showed off the rest of the ANH themed Pipeline reveals.  It feels like Hasbro has finally nailed Vader with the Dark Times and DS2 versions.  The helmet looks better than most I can recall.  The key details of this are going to be the inner cloak laying on top of the shoulder armor and the control panel on his chest.
-Stormtrooper refresh - I was glad to hear some specific language from Hasbro on this topic.  It was an exercise in futility to roll out a new Stormtrooper sculpt as a Walmart exclusive.  And I can't recall ever having seen it in a store.  I got mine online from Walmart and then a solid case of them from EE.  It's about time this was a mainline figure released at all retailers.
-R2-D2 & X-Wing Pilot Luke - these are good to get out there with this ANH beat that Hasbro seems to want to hit.
-Leia - It's about time!!!!  The last time Hasbro made a really good ANH Leia was in 2004 in the VOTC line, so this figure has been really overdue.  And I hope this is a sign that Hasbro is taking on the ANH core four now.  They're making Leia, but farmboy Luke is still a high priority for a lot of people.  I think Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi have some serious potential in light of how sculpting and paint have advanced.

-HK-47 & Jedi Revan 2-pack - Emily clearly stated that HK-47 is a refresh, so I don't expect any updates there.  And Jedi Revan will likely be much like the new TVC Darth Revan but in deco like the TBS GG Jedi Revan.  I was just hoping to get a version of the character unmasked at some point.  The fact that these are going to be Fan Channel releases makes sense.

Regarding these pipeline reveals...

Hasbro announced a total of 5 figures from A NEW HOPE.  Granted, the versions of Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and the Stormtrooper are all reissues.  But a new Darth Vader is in the mix, plus the biggest reveal - a new Princess Leia - which has been called for in the whole "Make The Mains" campaign that's been circulating around social media.  But I'm struck by what looks like it might be a wave of A NEW HOPE figures.  Is anyone else surprised by this development?  And could it be an indication that Hasbro might be moving back towards building waves of figures based on a common theme?

Seeing a lot of figures from a particular older source/movie these days leads me to wonder if Hasbro is up to something.  Maybe it's just coincidence or a return to themed waves like you said Nick. Or...

- Could Pilot Luke/R2-D2 mean an X-Wing re-do/repack is coming?
- Leia/Vader/Stormtroopers...  maybe some kind of new Death Star playset with a carded Tarkin (using that new officer buck)?  Could be a simple $60 hall/wall type playset.  Or maybe since the Throne Room set is shipping now, they want to try another Pulse-exclusive mega-playset??  We've got that TVC Krennic coming too...

Or, maybe it's none of that and just a coincidence and I shouldn't waste time speculating...  but where is the fun in that?!? :D

The thought that immediately crossed my mind was that Disney told Hasbro that the movie is going to be in theaters again in 24 or 25 to help fill the schedule vacancies created by the strikes.

Next I thought they could be gearing up that Haslab Death Star.

Cynical me thought they were getting into some new ANH tooling so they had figures ready to rerelease for the 50th anniversary that is 4 years away.

It looks a lot like the Jabba's Goons repack wave coupled with Han/Vader/Piett wave honestly.

One thing that got mentioned in the livestream was that Hasbro had heard for the call to "Make the Mains", and that Leia might just be the first step in that process.  I also could not help but think that Hasbro might be observing the 20th anniversary of VOTC, which was really the precursor to The Vintage Collection.  They do seem to be a bit more mindful of anniversaries now, although they did not observe the 10th anniversary of the launch of The Black Series.

The "new" TVC cardback in 2024 is a callback to those 2004 VOTC figures.  Maybe that is the angle, not a return to themed waves, but maybe a lot of those VOTC are going to get re-done in 2024?

new cardback design starting with this wave (throwback to original 2004 VOTC cardback backs - 20 years ago!  :o):

I think it was a conscious decision to pull Patrick from the livestreams.  His demeanor works in the whole sales and marketing culture with customers and partners.  But it came across as completely inauthentic and borderline disingenuous when it comes to relating to the fanbase.  His overuse of the word "iconic" became ridiculou.  I work in media, and I've dealt with a lot of people who can be a little over the top.  But even I would watch and think "OMG, this guy is so completely full of ****".  He became a virtual punching bag for a lot of the community, and the memes of him got kind of cruel.  When the reactions to the livestream became more about him than the product reveals?  It's time to get him out of there.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's livestream.  As for what gets revealed?  I'm thinking we'll probably see the production versions of the figures from The Mandalorian season 3 that were pipeline reveals.  But as for pipeline reveals tomorrow?  I have no idea what they might reveal.  The only thing that's got me a little on edge is the potential that Hasbro might reveal something in the pipeline that I put on my March Madness Top 25 submission list, and if I have to edit those submissions.

I'd like to see them comment on the fact that everything that has been revealed/pre-ordered since October has been "fan channel" items.  There are a lot of unspoken signs that the new "Epic Hero Series" stuff is the new brick-and-mortar line and the 3.75" TVC line is heading towards "fan channel only".  No one has gone on record saying anything about that officially yet.

I'd also like a bit more clarity about the Epic Hero Series stuff.  Does that stuff technically fall under Steve Evans and the "Marvel/Star Wars Collector Products" team or does that line fall under Vickie Stratford and the "Marvel/Star Wars Casual Fan Products" (https://www.jedinews.com/collecting/articles/vickie-stratford-moves-to-hasbros-kid-and-casual-fan-lines-for-star-wars-and-marvel/) team?

Live stream - Jing, Chris, Emily, Eric.

Recap of recently pre-ordered things...
- TVC Phase II Clone 4-pack - confirmed new tooled helmet head sculpt
- Deluxe Jango Fett

Note on fan-channel...
- "Even more focused in 2024" on providing Fan Channel
- "Still delivering strong figures" to brick-and-mortar (Target/Walmart) for "characters kids and casual fans will recognize"
- Use Dooku as example of figure fans want so = fan-channel

New TVC reveals today... all of these are mainline figures; Pre-order 1/24 @ 1pm ET (guessing these make up a lot of the wave that is coming with Huyang):
- TVC TBB Captain Rex (uses new Clone sculpt)
- TVC ANH X-Wing Pilot Luke {VC158 repack/refresh with tweaked cardback}
- VC312 The Mandalorian (Season 3) - seems like a repack of the Rescue/N-1 Mando figure sculpt on a new Season 3 cardback
- VC313 Grogu (Season 3) - new pram with three different cover options and his flat shirt (from the DLX Grogu/Luke pack)
- VC314 Mandalorian Fleet Commander - has an interchangeable helmet head
- VC315 TM Axe Woves (Mando Season 3) - "refresh" where this version has an interchangeable helmet head

New TVC Exclusives:
- TVC Sabine/Chopper/Lothcats (2) Multi-Pack - Chopper/Lothcats and Sabine both on Mural cardback
--- Limited Pre-Order window at Hasbro Pulse (1/24 @ 1pm ET through Feb 14th @ 11:59pm ET)
--- (man, these are very nice - new helmet head for Sabine is WAY better than that DLX figure)

TVC Pipeline Reveals:
- TCW 4-Pack - Ahsoka, R7-A7, CH-33P, RG-G1 (Amazon Exclusive)
- HK-87 red/tan repaint
- Dark Trooper (stripped down carded release)
- Ahsoka the White
- Mando with 'borrowed' Beskar Trooper Jetpack
- Updated Mando Season 3 Bo Katan
- Deluxe COBB ******' VANTH with Fett armor :)

I was rather disappointed in the reveals today. Mostly redos, repaints, resculpts and Mandalorians.  *yawn*

Yeah, but I'm 100% here for COBB ******' VANTH to finally get some love in TVC.  About ******* time.

Very glad that most of the stuff revealed today had swappable helmet heads instead of removable helmets.  The helmet heads just look so much nicer than the removable helmets these days.

Also very glad they commented on the fan channel stuff and confirmed some TVC stuff still coming to brick and mortar (but only the popular figures/characters).

The Retro TPM 6 Pack hasn't gone up for pre order yet has it?

Yeah, that was the highlight for me.  And also Sabine/Chopper.

And also Sabine/Chopper.

I was impressed that they snuck a few more lothcats in there since the mural has more than just Ezra's white one.  Now they just have to find a way to put out the wolves from the mural.  :D

The inclusion of the Lothcats was nice, and I appreciated that.  But when I saw that and the other accessories with Sabine?  I saw how this 2-pack is almost certainly going to cost more than the previous 2-packs.  I'm predicting $49.99 for that.

The figure reveals were basically what I had expected.  Captain Rex was the most welcome surprise.  A number of people had speculated that this would just be a re-release of the Rex that was include in the 4-pack from The Bad Batch.  But I'm happy to see that this Rex was built on the new Clone body, and Hasbro isn't wasting time in putting that tooling to good use.

As for the pipeline reveals?  Bring on that 4-pack!  I'm also really happy to see the Cobb Vanth reveal, even if I would have preferred an un-armored version.  The Mando and Bo-Katan releases are kind of expected, but slightly disappointing.  They confirm a degree of cynicism that I've been feeling about the re-use of parts.  But I do think that TM season 3 Bo-Katan looks remarkably different from her season 2 appearance, and since season 3 is so much about her, I think she deserves a new figure.

I will not be surprised if they pull a classic double-dip - Deluxe TM version with Fett Armor and then re-use some of his parts for a single-carded BOBF version without the armor...

Oh, I ALWAYS expect the double dip!  I think it comes down to just how many parts can be repurposed from the Deluxe, armored version to make the unarmored version of Cobb Vanth.

Also - it's confirmed - the Sabine and Chopper 2-pack will be $49.99

I wish for that price they could have included a second swappable helmet for the previous Sabine.

Garbage offerings.  There’s literally nothing to get excited about with these reveals, for me at least

Eh, I was excited about Sabine & Chopper. I think they look great. I was also happy to hear see the overall shift from removable helmets to swappable heads. It's nice to finally see Cobb Vance get pipelined. I do like the new Rex. He wasn't as high on my list but the last figure kind of sucks and he is one of my favorite characters, so I'm happy for the upgrade.

Overall though it did feel pretty ho-hum. Outside of Cobb Vanth, and Season 3 Sabine, there wasn't anything that isn't a retool/kitbash/repack of some sort.

Sure, Sabine and Chopper, it's great to have them to finish off the color scheme crew, but being as those were previously announced and are repaints, THEY should be the boring part of the reveals.  Instead they're the best thing that got shown, and they're $8 more each than mainline figures despite (again) being repaints.

The only pipeline reveals I'm excited about are Cobb Vanth and Ahsoka the White.
