Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Toys R Us (Or: Die, Dinosaur, Die!)

Everytime I see an old TRU location I still think fondly back on it. I hope this is successful (unlike the last time). Maybe they will have better luck with one big store like this. If this is successful it'd be cool to see them try to ad a few more, and keep this very limited in a few major market cities.

I decided to pick up a few of the Tuskens and a Luke. I already got the DSD from Tunghori earlier this month.

I'll have to try the nose oil trick... I've definitely never heard that one before...

I think a better scaled U-Wing (with rigid wings like Rob mentioned) would be my number one request for the next offering. I could get down with a scale X-Wing or Y-Wing through Haslab, but I would have prefer them updated main line. Even if that meant the scale was a bit off.

Outside the U-Wing I think the next items on my list would be realistic versions of either The Bad Batch shuttle or The Ghost from Rebels. Nothing in the Sequel Trilogy would really excite me enough to back it, or give up the space in collection room.

Infinite MP Beta dropped a month early, and it is INCREDIBLE. (And also FREE.) if you are into halo/FPS at all you should download it and add me to play, game tag: XO_SaulTigH

I’d love to play with some JD peeps.

According to Taret’s website oly 1 in 19 store In the Denver Area will carry this, and the one is nowhere close to me. Have any of you not iced your local store getting the X-Wing when list the store as not carrying the item?

Currently sitting outside enjoying a nice Stranahan’s single malt Rocky Mountain whisky, watching the lunar eclipse. Thought I might revive this thread… (might have had several glasses tonight to start the holiday vacation…)

Star Wars Anthology / Re: Rogue Squadron
« on: November 17, 2021, 12:47 AM »
Uh-oh... It sounds like Rogue Squadron may be on-hold indefinitely -- if not off the table altogether:'(

(The same is also true for Rian Johnson's trilogy, but I think I just already assumed those weren't going to happen anymore...)

Per The Hollywood Reporter:

... sources say the producers and filmmaking team came to the realization that Jenkins’ schedule and other commitments wouldn’t allow for the window needed to make the movie in 2022.

Thus, Squadron [sic] has been taken off the production schedule. The hope is that once Jenkins’ fulfills her previous commitments, she will be able to return to the project.

& Dorkside:

While there is scant word on the status of the Johnson movies, it is understood that Jenkins was unable to compromise on changes to the films script and experienced creative differences with Lucasfilm executives, including Senior Vice-President of Live Action Development and Production for Lucasfilm, Michelle Rejwan.
Officially, spokespersons for Jenkins’ have said that her other film commitments do not allow for her to deliver the film on time. These other projects include a third Wonder Woman film as well as a Cleopatra movie also starring Gal Gadot.

This is really disappointing but not entirely unexpected given the way the production on all of the films have gone so far. Outside of "The Force Awakens", we have yet to see one of the films have the same director/writers for the entire project. Clearly there are systemic problems at Lucasfilm / Disney. If it weren't for the fact that it would stretch them way too thin, I wish they would just give Filoni and Favreau full creative control over all Star Wars properties. Clearly LFL needs some kind of a leadership shakeup at this point. All of the best Star Wars content over the last 14 years has come from Filoni and Favreau, they need to find someone of a similar mindset who understands Star Wars, and is willing to actually trust their writers / directors. And if  it really is just an issue with the vision that those writers and director are having with the films, then LFL / Disney needs to replace the person(s) that is hiring them in the first place.

I really hope we still get to see a Patti Jenkins Rogue Squadron at some point, but I am not holding my breath.  :-\

Deathtrooper... of course it is.

I too would have loved to have seen a slightly different pack-in, even if it was another repack or slight retool of an incinerator trooper, a Jason Sudekis Scout trooper, or a regular stormtrooper. I was looking at this set on Amazon today and I noticed the Death Trooper seems to be packed without his pauldron/bandolier/belt accessory. I had removed it from some of my 3 3/4" black series troopers to mix up the ranks a bit, but it it is disappointing they aren't including it in the package with this figure. It is a bit hard to tell from the lighting in the image, but it also looks like this version may have some additional silver paint apps on the face that might distinguish it a bit. It also might just be reflection from the bubble, it's a little hard to tell for sure even from the loose picture:

Like Jeff and others said, I am a bit bummed that this only comes with the broken window, and likely doesn't have a finished exterior side.

Overall though I am excited for the set. I'm not sure if I will drop the $ on two of them for the extra walls, stools, bar top, but I am looking forward to my first one.

Trailer for season 6 looked pretty solid... I'm definitely excited to see this come back in December.

It'll be interesting to see how they move on from the end of season 5 and the surprise unceremonious death of one of the leads due to the actor getting fired (omitting name for spoiler sake). By all accounts it seems like it was the right decision, but I will miss the character and will be real interesting to see how the writers move on.

Also, where in the movies do these orange guys show up... Rogue One?  Trying to figure out where to put them.

In the Jedi Outcast video game, the higher ranking Stormtroopers used pauldrons, so I’ve always used them as squad leaders in displays.

What Travis said. Movie-wise, I feel like they may have shown up in Solo? I'm pretty sure pauldrons on squad leaders is considered canon at this point.

If they were smart, Figrin D'an would get all the instruments.  People (me) would buy 7 of them.

I might just consider buying 7 anyways if he is available and just reusing the old POTF2 instruments. Even though they will probably repack him in a full band set at some point.

Top notch work Dave. It looks really solid. Great call on opting for the cable supports, totally worth it. Has the self been populated since the summer? I'd love to see more pictures if you have any.

I have been debating on whether I want to build some stylized shelving like this for my collection room, or something a little more plain and modular for diorama displays.

Oof...Jesse is slated to return next year, so you could have gotten him a bit cheaper than Tunghori. But hey, you'll have him, and that's all that matters at the end of the day!

To this day I still think that TAC was my favorite line (outside of TVC/VOTC/VTSC). It was such a great period in collecting.
