The set I just opened came with 6 blaster rifles.  Is that on purpose or did I get extras?  I can't imagine needing to outfit any of these with double blasters...

Mine did too. I think that the six weapon count has just kind of been the standard for the last few sets, but all the others have had two types of blasters, so it feels odd here when all of these are the same E-5 blaster rifles.

Mine arrived today. It's interesting, they have moved away from the plastic-free packaging on these (at least for this set). There is a molded-PET insert for the droids instead of the cardboard & wax paper inserts, but they still have the blasters in a wax-paper baggie.

I seem to remember when they were first introducing this set, they said the droids would be made of a more rigid plastic. After opening one set, they seem gummy as ever... but it is also 100-degrees outside today, so I may have to wait for these to cool down a bit and see if they stiffen up. If not, I may return a few of the sets I bought.

I will note that it is nice that they varied up the weathering on each of the three grunts a little bit, making each of them unique.

----

EDIT: I checked these again today after letting them cool off for the weekend, and they do feel a bit more rigid when compared to previous carded versions. The all-new leg sculpt is a bit more bulky to further help make the droid more rigid, and the added ball-jointed knees & rocker ankles help make it much more poseable and stable. The new hips have a bit wider range of motion, too.

This is actually a surprisingly significant upgrade over the previous version. :)

Got the same e-mail.  It will be interesting to see how they've been improved from the previous versions.

Just having a less bendy plastic would be enough for me.

I also grabbed three, would have loved 5+ but am glad to have gotten any at this point.

It's a very nice touch to include the battle-damaged panel.

$140

I take it back...  :-X

The new Vader card is really nice, and I'm glad there appears to be no changes to Vader so that I only have to buy one of these.

You just mentioned a reason to buy two. Normal and battle damaged versions! ;)

This one is incredible. The new sculpt really highlights how dated the old one was looking. It's a very nice touch to include the battle-damaged panel. The new Vader card is really nice, and I'm glad there appears to be no changes to Vader so that I only have to buy one of these.

I had already grabbed 10 of the basic figure so I am just going to start w/ 1-2 of these for now, but may grab a few more eventually if they ever go on sale.

Small stream today, but all good things. I'm fully support moving back to 6x9 cards for all deluxe if they are going to use the standard numbering. That way they physically fit into people's carded displays and star cases. I didn't hate the POTF2 Vader's TIE, but man after seeing this reveal it is crazy to see how dated it really was. The new one looks incredible. We knew the snowtroopers were coming but its still good to get official confirmation. And I'm really happy to hear the Cantina & Stormtrooper set will go back up for preorder. I'm definitely setting an alarm this time to make sure I don't miss them again.

I found the new K2 at ROSS this morning…both scales!  ???

Crazy! I haven't been in a Target/Walmart in months but it feels like this is way too soon for a new figure like that at Ross (Jod too). I'll have to keep an eye out for those. I have a few extra K2s that I got from Tunghori on the cheap a while back, but I'd LOVE to grab a few more for army building.

Yay... This is definitely my least favorite of these lately.

The good news is he will 100% be released on a single card at some point, and you at least got a free two pack out of it.

The singles I bought from Amazon were also bumped, but mine are back to September 12th. I feel like a lot hit fairly recently, so I guess a little break is ok.

Looks like pre-orders for the Gamorrean Guard have sold out already...  guess the $25 price tag wasn't that big of a hindrance.

Busy day at work, and of course, I miss the reveal and the pre-order on the one I wanted. I had three loose from the original run, but after getting the Throne Room and the Barge recently, I wanted a couple more so that I could have a few in each setup, plus a few extra to customize. The $25, while very pricy for a rerelrease, is still FAR cheaper than they were going for on eBay, as Rob noted.

I guess I'll just hope Target messes up these pre-orders (like they do with all of their other pre-orders) and some stores get a bunch of these.
