2021 TVC Troop Builder Stormtrooper 4-Pack

Revealed on the livestream today.  New line of troop builder 4-packs.  First set will be:

- Imperial Stormtroopers (3 troopers plus squad leader)

Hasbro Pulse and ShopDisney exclusive.  Pre-order tomorrow at 1pm ET.

What's old is new again!  They've just updated the quality of the troop building figures and they aren't in white mailer boxes anymore.

I was kind of hoping we'd get to see the Jedha trooper with the backpacks, but these are cool to see.

Nice that they're doing troop builder packs, hopefully at a reasonable price, but Hasbro totally missed the boat with these.  It would have been so much better if they included a couple of new troopers in here along with the standard Stormtroopers.  Morter Troopers, etc.

I'm looking at this stormtrooper set as a trial balloon.  If/When this sells well I could see them doing the following sets:

- Rebel Trooper pack - maybe add different sculpted heads
- Clone Trooper packs - Both Phase I and Phase II clones
- Jedha trooper pack - perhaps give us a Super Articulated Pao, Bistan and/or Melchi
- FO Trooper Pack
- Resistance fighter pack
- Ewoks

The list goes on and on.

I find the press release interesting and contradictory to what Patrick said and what the press photos show. Nowhere on the box does it mention TVC at all, and Patrick was very specific in pointing out that the box is branded as Hasbro as opposed to Kenner because they made the decision to eschew the traditional TVC design esthetic. I assumed he was trying to dissuade the mint on card crowd from collecting this set.

Yeah, I think he was trying to make clear for the TVC package collectors that these were not TVC carded/boxed.

I guess it's a "Vintage Collection" item simply because it's not a Retro Collection item and those are the only two branding options for 3.75" stuff these days...

Oh, I didn't mean to imply this wasn't the Rogue One TVC Stormtrooper mold...just that they went with modern packaging that doesn't say TVC or Kenner on it anywhere...and said they did that on purpose.

Had they done the Kenner "Special" figure packaging they probably would have doubled their sales (not that I think it will struggle to sell through in any box.)
