Lego LOTR and Hobbit

Totally Awesome

Damn right.  My guess is these will sell just a teensy bit better than the Prince of Persia ones did.

In addition to all the sets coming, you just know they'll be doing a video game too.  I love playing those games.

LEGO / Re: Lego Mini vehicle line - What do you think?

The SW Advent Calendar was on sale at TRU for $30 (may still be).  Even then, I couldn't bring myself to buy it.  It's a cool concept and all, but seems way overpriced.

That seems to be the MO with Lego recently, especially on their licensed themes.  I saw the new Superhero sets at TRU and the 78 piece Batman / Catwoman motorcycle set was $18.  Granted, that probably includes TRU's markup since I think they're the only store getting those right now, but still.

At this point, all I'm interested in owning from this set are Cover Girl and Big Boa, and we haven't even seen them yet.

Those two are really going to have to blow me away to even consider buying a subscription and even then, I doubt I will.  Just too much junk, especially at $20 a pop.

Carded pics of Lifeline and Zombie Viper

Lifeline is a must for me.  Still debating on the Zombie Viper.  It looks cool and all, but I don't really need it.

I'm still debating. If I do subscribe, I have to buy the membership first.  I want Footloose, so that works.  I still need a Grunt figure and although I would much rather prefer a green one, the tan one works.  Topside is ok, I guess.  He came out when I started to get out of Joes when I was younger, so I have no real attachment to him.  At least he looks like his RAH figure and that's one of the big keys on which figures I decide to buy.

With Jinx, I want her red hooded look from RAH and what she wore in the movie while hooking up with Don Johnson.  Other than her, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, I really have no love for the ninjas, so Slice isn't grabbing me.  Iron Klaw, while cool looking, is from a bad time in Joe lore with the whole Extreme! ****.  I get the nostaliga with the foreign figures, so Quarrel is worth it to have, even though she is really plain looking.  I have no desire for neon green BAT, but at least it's an army builder that I can hide behind the other BATs I have.

I think the two figures that will sway me into buying are Cover Girl and Big Boa.  Depending on what they look like (especially Cover Girl) will decide if I'm all in or not.

I don't give a **** what the card looks like, Airtight looks like a perfect 30th anniversary representation of his RAH figure and that makes me happy.

This wave is filled with winners - Airtight, Sci-Fi, Law & Order, Tele Viper.  Good stuff.

That looked like a pretty major accident occurred (cars flipped over, etc.), I imagine some of the occupants died in the crash and if they didn't, they died from their injuries when no helped arrived.

And don't you need to be bit by a walker to become a zombie?  Dying from natural causes or an accident injury won't make you a walking dead.

Series 7 apparently.  Love the blue space man, black knight, tarzan, bagpiper, aztek and neptune.

Too bad the bunny's not pink for Scott's alter ego.

I've been on a Lego kick recently.  My oldest is obsessed with them (after Christmas he'll have a complete Atlantis, Alien Attack and Spongebob collection and I know he'll want the superhero sets) and it's making me dig out some of my older SW sets and rebuild them (they were put away because I have no room to display them).

I joined the VIP club at Lego and since October is double points month, had family buy a bunch of stuff for Christmas.  I just ordered The Black Pearl and with those points, should be able to get close to $50 off the Imperial Flagship.  It'll go nicely battling it out with the Pearl and QAR.  Hopefully the Flying Dutchman gets released.

Awesome.  Love the Dreadnok set, what a great way to get the remaining original 'Noks (plus Zanya and the black dude).  Must be a rights issue with calling Thrasher Thunder.  Hopefully Gnawgahyde comes with his wild boar.  I'm also glad they didn't include another Zartan with the set.

Getting the Marauders set strictly for Mercer, Red Dog and Taurus.  Would love to have seen Sarge included as I never managed to get him.

I'm sure the Yankees were not trying to tank that game near the end there.  ::)

bull****.  I hate the Yankees with all my heart, but Giaradi had every right to manage his team the way he saw fit.  If that includes resting his players, making 18,000 pitching changes a game and playing the scrubs, then so be it.  The Yankees didn't owe the Red Sox anything.  And if you think about it, the Yankees kept the Red Sox alive in the hunt by taking 3 of 4 from the Rays last week.  Without that, this penant race would have been over last week.

Did they get a little joy by keeping the Sox out of the playoffs?  Maybe, but that doesn't mean they intentionally threw games (although I do question why Texiera didn't score from second  on a clean double).  The Sox have no one to blame but themselves.  They assumed they'd be able to coast into the playoffs and it came back to bite them in the ass.  The Rays had the will, desire and guts to fight to the bitter end, the Sox were the complete opposite. The only ones pulling their weight the last month were Ellsbury, Pedroia and Papelbon (although he blew it last night).  Everyone else were a bunch of entitled prima donnas who couldn't pitch, couldn't play defense or get the big hit when needed.  They deserved everything that happened to them and deserve all the criticism they're receiving now.  Maybe this will light a fire under their asses and they'll play a complete ******* season next year, start to finish.  The difference between the Yanks and Sox is that the Yanks play for the division and the Sox play just to make the playoffs (ie, the wild card).  At least the Yanks have something to fall back back on if they falter a bit.  We all saw what happened to the Sox - another third place finish (by the so called "greatest team ever").

I can't with good conscience root for another AL East team and I don't really like Texas, so I'll be rooting for Detroit in the AL and Philly in the NL.
