I don't think anyone should be name calling other members anywhere. Disagreeing and making observations is a great use of debate and discussion. But when name calling is used I think it just lowers the whole thing. I may not agree with everything LJ says but I have made it a point to NOT to call  her a nasty name. She's better than that and deserves better than that. We all deserve better than that.

It's very appropriate that this thread is titled "Rebelscum".  The way people are whining about nonsense in this thread made me think that for just a second, I logged into the wrong Forum.

Thnaks for checking in Rayne. As always there's always room for more crazy. Thanks!

I agree with LJ that her reputation out there with many different forum members on at least two boards that I know of has been cemented in place. That place tends to fall of the "craptastic" side of popular opinion.

For all my deep disagreements and heated rheotric I think LJ is a good person. She's an active forum member and sometimes has a good discussion point and/or observation. I may not agree with her 95% of the time, and I think she comes off as mean spirtited and closed minded when she disagrees with others. And her level of sarcasim, misuse of punctuation and  :) ;) :D ;D :( ::) borders on compulsive and annoying  but there is no doubt she likes what she likes. And I respect her for that.

Hopefully the feedback is accepted for what it is and how many of us hope that change is possible for one that is known to so many on the Star Wars boards.

I wasn't taking offensive at what you were posting LJ. I was just making a point. There's a Seinfeld bit about the over use of punctuation. It's very funny.

And thank you for pointing out my spelling error. She is correct it is spelled Democrats.

Must have been thinking of the Western NY spelling of it.

So what do you propose I do then Matt? What's the point if your opinion will never change, not that I care what someone in Oklahoma thinks of me. I mean can you answer that, what would be the point of changing?

And the Democrates said the same thing last election and look what happened. Oklahoma goes Red and Bush rins again. Don't take for granted what Oklahoma thinks.

I'm from NY (life long) and you go to school in NY so does that mena you care about what I say? :D Cool.....

Like I said LJ it isn't anything personal on you. But JJ really did nail it on the head. And when you say it's only SW forum and not a research paper kind of puts down what we discuss here. Why dumb it down? It's out hobby. We can and should have the expectation that in our hobby we want stimulating and lively discussion done in the proper context of good netiquette.

It like McDonald's or Wendy's. People put it down as fast food but when you go there as a customer you expect your hot side to be hot and your cold side to be cold. Same here. Just because it's Star Wars doesn't mean we all of a sudden lose our ability to communicate like normal people.

Conceivably, however does it really matter that much, honestly?

It does to people who have expectations and standards when it comes to forum discussion. If you have low to no standards then yeah who cares?

I think it hits a nerve with people who are perticular with how messages are left on the fourm. Some people get annoyed about poor spelling, grammer, and/or puncuation. Some hate trolls, others dread the "quoter" while others are spiteful towards the flamer.

Everyone has their own criteria about this kind of thing.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: It's good enough for me...The Goonies
« on: January 9, 2006, 09:10 PM »
That NES game was fun.  There was a little old man trapped in one of the mines and my sister and I would torture him by whacking him on the head with the hammer.  He kept saying "Ouch!"

I think that was Goonies II for the NES. A very fun game and a solid storyline. It was one of the first epic games I played that required weeks of constant play, without chats to beat. I also remember that was one of better NES games because the musical score was varied and catchy.

I remember being in the 4th or 5th grade and standing on the lunch line. This girl behind me was saying that her cousin in CA had seen Gonnies II, the movie, and it was fantastic. I remember turning around and being all happy and asking her when it was coming to NY? She said it was only released in CA. That was a sad thing to hear at the time but after a few weeks I tended not to believe her anyway.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 12/16/05... Stern's Wrapping Up
« on: January 9, 2006, 09:05 PM »
I didn't get to listen to Stern as much as I would have liked over the years but the last month he was on the publlic airwaves were just great. It was excellent radio with many great segments and guests from years past.

I tired to get onto one of Howard Stern websites tonight but I htink everyone out here wants to know what the first show of 2006 was like. From what I can tell from the watered down accounts in the media that it was out of sight!

Whatever!! Go troll somewhere's else!!

How can you call him a troll? He's a member of over two years here. He makes a simple observation and you get defensive.

Not like he said your name or said the 80's were 10 years of culture crap. Then I could see you calling him a troll.

Your collection is extensive and so many unique peices. I'm looking forward to seeing your updated pictures.

And not for nothing I hope you keep the Nintendo logo on that display case because that in itself is a conversation piece. Go on ebay and find yourself an old school Star Wars game for the Original Nintendo to put in there and you'll tie it all together nicely.

A very sharp collection. The shelving ledges for your carded figures is top notch.

If you wanted to take a single carded figure off the wall is it there enough room to just pluck it off  of the wall without damaging the card or do you have to slide all the figures off?

Were you on Mars when RotS hit? ;) How could you still be needing so many of those figures?
