That is a State by State age limit, most places it is 18 but I think places like Nevada its 21

Actually (and the only reason I know this is because I just saw it on the Travel Channel) in Nevada the lottery is the only illegal form of gambling - except Boulder City where all gambling is illegal.  So yes, technically you need to be 21 to gamble in Nevada, but I would assume if they ever get a state lotto, that 18 will the age.

My wife played Keno one night at a bar and didn't check her ticket before she left.  She held on to that ticket until one day she was in a convience store, remembered she had the ticket and decided to check to she if she won some money.  She hads the clerk the ticket and he says "Sorry, not a winner"  I yelled "Bullsh!t! The read out says she won $100, so give her the money"  The rat bastard tried to scam her and would have if she just walked away.  Piece of ****.

You know, I never even thought to try "cheating" and look at the bottles before I buy them. I actually don't drink that much soda, but I wanted to get a free song, so I got a couple. I may try that, but I stopped trying that back when Sprite gave something away, and I couldn't even see that cap by trying that trick. Maybe Pepsi bottles are the right size.  :)

Oh, and by the way...this thread (and my greed) has inspired me to play the lottery this week. The Mega Millions (which has the worst odds of just about any lottery) is up to 215 million. With that kind of money, I could buy a segway, an I-tune and still have a couple of bucks left to put in my pocket for a rainy day.  :)

We have a State Run Lottery Here, Power Ball and Native American Casinos, right now the STate is thinking of opening their own Casino which seriously tick off the Native Americans and in effect break a treaty they signed in the 1990's saying the state won't do that.

Not going to be too happy if I move back to the Metrodome still standing, AND an empty Mystic Lake Casino.

Well, notch me down a level. Or two.

Today, I put the evil 25% Pepsi bottle angle technique to the test. I must have looked pretty odd in the Kmart soda aisle, and I'm certain I drew the suspicion of their loss prevention staff... but 10 bottles later I finally feel a song coming on...

My Scanning technician finally earned his Imperial credits. Vader was especially pleased. Motti was uncomfortable he didn't bring one to the table.

Either that or two other people already beat you to the store and did the 25 degree trick as well.

Nice Pic by the way.

That's funny. Actually, I did consider that another iTunes wrangler had beat me to the cooler... But I don't think so based on the location of the bottle and stuff.

I've been having fun taking pics the last couple of days. It just dawned on me that i have a camera and a place to host them. I put a couple of reviews up here and here.

A funny by-the-way... I posted the picture above originally with the code unblurrd, then got paraniod some of the people here who are already going to H - E - double hockey sticks would steal my free song before I had a chance to redeem it... But I've taken care of that now. Oh yes.

I rarely ever play the lottery on my own, but when the jackpot hits $50 million or more, my office will start going in on a lottery pool, until someone eventually claims the grand prize.  Well, as usual, we didn't win, and someone else did.  So I got to wondering just how much money I've tossed out due to the lottery over the years.  Just at my office alone, where it's a $2 entrance fee every few days 'til the jackpot's won, I've probably lost about $300 in the last 6 years.  I guess that's not horrible, but it's certainly not wonderful either.

But the thought of my coworkers playing and possibly winning (and retiring) without me, is enough to strike fear into me to play each and every time.  So me playing the lottery is more like buying insurance that my coworkers don't get rich without me.  Strange reasoning, really...

So, how often do you folks play, and can anyone beat Adam's $43 jackpot?!   :P

We have a State Run Lottery Here, Power Ball and Native American Casinos, right now the STate is thinking of opening their own Casino which seriously tick off the Native Americans and in effect break a treaty they signed in the 1990's saying the state won't do that.  The state also runs the Horse Track in the Twin Cities which is where they want to put the casino.  Revenue would go to fund Sports Stadiums, Roads and Education, I'm for that as long as they only build one and they put it at the same spot as the Horse Track

Native Americans have got to be Twins/Vikes fans! As of late, it doesn't look like the state run casino is going to make it past the "hope and pray" stages. To have a casino in Canterbury Grounds would be kind of odd, then there's Mystic, Little 6, and then the proposed casino in a 1 mile radius. Surely they can think of another way to build the Twinkies a new playpin.

As for me, I'm at Mystic Lake atleast once a month, even after I swear I wouldn't go back. It's just so hit and miss, and at the same time incredibly addictive. The lure of money..mmmm. Scratch lottery is just as sporatic, just depends on when I'm at Cub. Which is always.

Glad you bumped this up Cory, as it reminded me that I wanted to point out something that I saw today.  Stopped in the local store, and they had a big Star Wars display around the usual lottery area.  Turns out that California is having a set of 12 Star Wars scratchers right now, in conjunction with all the ROTS hoopla.

I may just have to pick myself up a set.  The question is, do I actually scratch them off, or keep them mint?!  :P

Anyone else seen anything like this in their neck of the woods?
