There seems to be mixed feelings over this person
(Chan Kwong Wai) User ID WAI, who resides in HK.
I'm looking for some one who has dealt w/him recently and has received their items. Real Scooby has not gotten his items as of yet, and its been almost two months. I realize mail can be VERY SLOW coming from overseas, but I want to see who here has dealt w/him. Here is a link to a topic I posted to over at RS.

I was taken some time ago with a person whos name is very similiar if not the same. Check the post for more info.

I also am currently waiting and it's been a while too. I sent on 5/27. I have asked if he had any luck and it took him some time to respond. I guess we'll wait and see. The SARS thing does make sense and I hope it is only that. If I get shafted on this one, I'm out with new people and only dealing with the 'primo traders' I have dealt with. Not calling out Wai yet and still have faith (I've got to or I'll lose it).
My suggestion with new traders, is before you send, make it clear that you want a scan of the postal receipt from there end when they send to verify. What more can we do but trust, that's the biggest part of the whole thing.
If we did have a 'bad trader' infiltrate this site, I can promise they will trade no more.

Hey buddy. Man that really Bites. I hope it goes threw for U and this is all for nothing. But I want to make sure and hear from other people who have gotten their items from him.
Yes things were absolutley slow before, but now with SARS they must really be at a crawl.
Hopefully yours will show up soon.

Well I am also waiting for my items to arrive. I have email him but as of yet have not received a responce. My trade also took place around 5/27 Please keep me posted if you other guys receive your items. Sars may slow shipping but not email.

Take note though...if he shipped surface it may take 4-6 weeks, the fact he isn't responding to e-mails is a little disconcerting.

Hey Sarge. Where are U from?? Scooby is in AUSTRIA, so it may take longer to get there, than to the USA or vise versa. I have been in contact w/WAI today, and he said the situation w/Scooby has been cleared up. Scooby tells me its been almost 8 weeks, and WAI wrote that he sent a replacement item to him. Only time will tell.
Id hold off on any dealings w/this guy until either U guys get your stuff or we hear from someone who has actually gotten their items from him. The Epidemic may just be causing the slow down on mail coming and going from there.
will update as I find out more.

Scott you are correct about shipping I wouldn't have been wondering if it wasn't for the unanswered emails. He hasn't been on here in about 3 weeks so maybe he is away. I am still patient and hoping in a few weeks my item will arrive,but I would like to be kept informed if the others are experiancing similar things.
Have you other guys emailed him at all ??

I've just gotten another email from WAI and he seems confident that ALL OF HIS current trades will be met. Which says a lot for him since he is in contact w/someone, and isnt just ignoring the issue. Hes reluctant to post here in public, since he can add nothing to his defence other than his word that the items have been shipped.

Hey RScooby. Well he didnt clerify on what exactly was cleared up, maybe he meant what U said about him sending replacements? I dont know but I'll ask.

My thoughts are this.
It appears that Wai is aware of this thread. He is reluctant to post here for what ever reason. I hope he will post just to clarify things. I for one would pop in to give a heads up and assure things are ok.
If the rest would like Chris to step in. I will agree to that. I am hoping though that will be unneccessary and Wai will respond and clarify things. I am willing to wait over the weekend and see if I get a responce. After that I would welcome anything Chris could offer to resolve the issue
Also, as for Chris' offer to help in these matters shows what type of group we really do have at Defender. A close group of collectors and friends.

Hey Chris. How so?? We've/I've emailed him and at least hes gotten back to me. Dont bother. I'm feeling more and more that he is a victim of Circumstance. He cant help the mail system/crisis over there. I may be wrong, which I usually am, but we'll know soon enough I guess. Communication atleast has been re-esatablised so i am hopefull for our brothers in arms out there.

Well inlight of what has been developing in way of other info. And the fact that I have not received any responce from him. I can only assume that he is not willing to complete the deal. I can only speak for myself but Chris feel free to contact him on my behalf and see if you can get anywhere with him. If you need the specifics of the deal please PM me.
I was more than willing to wait but if he can't emaila responce back, that doesn't look good in my eyes. Expecially since he was made aware everyones concerns and was in contact with others. My emails were nothing but polite. I would atleast expect a simple reply that it was on its way.

I just came home from work and guess what I found before my doorstep
A small package from HK. ;D
Finally the items from Wai arrived. I examined the stamps as carefull as possible and noticed that it was stamped on 23.6. ??? ??? So thats the reason why it took so long.
Anyway, I got mine, so hopefully you others find your packages soon before your door, too.
No bad feedback from me for Wai.

Well I to had a surprise today. the package from Wai did arrive. postmarked 6-23. I am unsure why I never received a reply from him. In my eyes all my concerns could have been avoided with a simple email. In the end I will say that I did receive the item I was supposed to get. Item was good but there was no communication on his end after the final deal was made.

Wow, that's great news Peter and Wayne! Thanks for finally coming through for these guys Wai. Hopefully the other couple guys who are still waiting for packages from you are in for some similar good news pretty soon! Just work on the communication part a little bit. Never hurts to drop folks a friendly e-mail just to let them know that you haven't forgotten about them, even if there's a delay for some reason.

Yes, very good news. Very glad its all working out. The parcels may have been sent by surface so thats maybe why it look awhile to arrive. Still great news. :)

I think the problem was because, like Recons package, mine too was stamped on 23.6. Just one week ago.
I think, for some reason Wai just wasnŽt able to drop the packs earlier. Maybe lack of cash, SARS quarantine, etc, etc...

I received my package today and all was there and in good order. Wai fulfilled his end and he has proven to me that he is worth trading with. While the wait was frustrating and this post caused some concern, he completed the trade as promised. No matter what has been done in the past, he has begun to re-establish himself as a 'Good Trader'. His offer to send first is a statement that he intends to reclaim his good name and I think he has done that here.
Thanks for all the concern and support from all here at JD.com. I believe that this site and it's member/staff had a lot to do with helping Wai get motivated to follow through. We have proven that this is a site that is safe and that takes action against 'Bad Traders'! I feel that we have established our site as one of the best to make trades at due to this and I recommend that people post concerns and proposed trades from other sites here as a safety net. I will be happy to start a 'positive thread' for Wai if people think it is necessary, but I think this thread is important and a good way for others to understand that Wai made good on his end with 3 trades here. So Wai, if you would like me to start a new thread with positive feedback for you let me know, or if anyone thinks it is necessary for me to do this also let me know.

This is a trader warning about Wai
I sent my stuff 2 months ago and am still waiting for his to arrive, the first time i got a email saying he received mine but the stuff he sent was returned because of no postcode.
So he said he would sent it again airmail 7-10 days that was over a month ago.
Traders beware.....
Wai if you get in touch with me and let me know whats going on i might delete this post.
