I just perused a new feature on the Cantina Aliens at the Official Site. Click here (http://www.starwars.com/episode-iv/feature/20030502/index.html) to check it out!
My mouth is watering for more Cantina figures, especially those Tonnika Twins. Some very interesting background information there, especially for the uninitiated. A great resource and highly recommended.

Great feature there, and great reference resource for sure! Fun to see the "original names" tapped by Lucasfilm during filming vs. the more "official" ones created later on... I especially enjoyed this one:

Too funny! Yeah, still lots of these guys left to create in the Hasbro line. Hopefully we'll see the release of a few more of these denizens of that wretched hive of scum and villainy in the near future in the Saga line. It's been a little while now since Djas Puhr came out, so I'd say we're about due for another. What would be great is if Hasbro would give the Cantina (and Jabba's Palace) similar treatment to the new Jedi Council and Geonosis War Room 3 packs. I'm drooling just thinking about it. :P <----- me drooling
Not sure if the setback on the domestically canceled 2nd wave of Cantina sets (Kitik, Wuher & Dr. Evazan) will be a blow to our Cantina desires... Hopefully not. I'm still really hoping some online e-tailers pick those things up for a more reasonable price than Brian's got them. Not looking forward to tracking down 2-3 sets of these the way things are currently looking, that's for sure! :-\

Say MisterPL, what involvement did you have with WEG? Those Alien books look awesome...I was planning on once the DWL:ROTJ finishes up next month to go to that Wacky Star Wars Bar and see who wins the Battle Royale

The "call girl" connection has been made before, Scott, though I don't recall by whom. I honestly don't see why that would stop Hasbro from making them since they have no problem with other sexually explicit characters, not to mention gratuitous dismemberment.
And if those are prostitutes, they're WAY overdressed. Not even cleavage? C'mon, Twi'lek masseuses wear less at pod races.
My level of involvement at WEG was relegated to the art department. I didn't get to name any of those guys, but I worked with the editors who did. I did get to design a few new ships though, as well as help map out some interiors of existing ships (whether it made sense or not).
Those were the days...
