Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Gambling...

The Sahara on the far north end of the strip almost always has $1-$3 tables, as well as the Flamingo, which has I believe $2 tables at certain times. You'll be able to find cheap tables downtown consistently, but as already mentioned, it's far easier to find them anywhere during the week. My favorite place to play over the past few years has been the Sahara, it's a pretty nice casino, for having such low table minimums. Off-strip casinos like Terrible's, and the Station and Coast casinos usually have low minimums as well, and I've found those casinos to be good places to hang out. It's nice to avoid the tourist crowds sometimes and just hang with the locals.

I love Vegas and go a couple times a year. I'm a true low-roller, and I'm not comfortable betting more than $2-$3 a hand at blackjack. I prefer a $1 minimum table, of course.  :)

I never win or lose too much, because I don't bet too much per hand, but I sit at the tables for hours on end, drinking for free, and having a grand ol' time. Last trip to Vegas in June, I sat at the Sahara one night for four hours, and drank a bunch, and walked out with $10 less than I walked in with. That's just fine with me.

I've been to way too many shows to list. Some of the best: Tom Waits, Dead Can Dance, Fear Factory, Orb, Neurosis, Mr. Bungle, Gwar, Soulfly, Marilyn Manson, Sepultura, Afghan Whigs, Tom Jones, Faith No More, Reverend Horton Heat, Jane's Addiction, Public Enemy.

Most recent show, Fiend Fest with The Damned/ The Dickies/ DI/ Balzac/ Agnostic Front, and I won't even go into the Suckfits, because we didn't stay for them. Project 1950? How about Project Kiss My A**, I aint wasting my time. The Damned and Balzac were excellent, as were the Dickies, though. Fun show.

I almost always get nachos with lots of jalapenos, and bring my own soda.

Name: Carrie Malloy
Age: 28
Occupation: Veterinary assistant/receptionist/whatever
Location: Chicago, soon to be Providence, RI
Status: Happily, blissfully taken
Pet: Maggie, my cat
Music: Soooo many interests. Just a few; Misfits/Samhain/Danzig, Neurosis, Sepultura, Tom Waits, Dead Can Dance, Massive Attack

Star Wars fascinated me as a kid, and I still get my jollies from the films. I have a Tusken Raider/Sandpeople collecting focus, and my enthusiasm for collecting has recently been stepped up a bit due to my introduction into the world of bootlegs, and foreign licensed vintage product. The main toy line I collect is Mezco's Living Dead Dolls.

I've heard that in about 6 months, the deluxe version will be coming out from Lion's Gate, with deleted scenes, and lotsa bonus material. Not sure if it will be technically an uncut version, but you'll get the deleted scenes. The current dvd release has only Rob Zombie's commentary, and that's just about it, if you don't include the shabby 10 minutes or so of "extras" junk they threw on there.

Here's my dream car; little, efficient, and cute as a button. I think a car should take up as little space as possible for one's needs (just don't tell my boyfriend that, he's got an SUV and an old Cadillac). Having kids or lugging around big stuff requires a bigger vehicle, but for me, this one's juuuuuust right.  :)

The commercial was a bad move, but.... I like her. I always have, and probably always will.

« on: August 2, 2003, 04:11 PM »
Hmmm...

I can't pick just one song for myself, so I'll pick several (in no particular order):

1.  "Locust Star" - Neurosis
2. "Archangel"- Samhain
3. "Anywhere Out of the World"- Dead Can Dance
4. "White Shadow"- Peter Gabriel
5. "Tom Traubert's Blues"- Tom Waits

Joe and I kind of have a song, "Out of This World" by the Cure. It makes me cry. Buckets. Yeah, sure- that's our song.

I assure you I was not trying to convince you.  Merely warning you of a similarity in viewpoint.  If you don't want kids, that's cool.  It's your life after all.

I think the most boggling thought is how many utterly unprepared and incompetent people have kids.  Jeez, we have licenses for cars, there should be licenses for kids too.

Oh, I know you weren't trying to convince me dear.  :-*

And I agree with you, about the licensing thing. I also think people should go through a rigorous screening process in order to own a pet.
