I'm really liking this show the more I think about it.  Let's see what they can do tonight...

I just think that the Giants are putting a solid effort into their games lately... Still, I think the next match is going to be tough at Lambeau, but I'm not going to say they can't win.

Okay, I'll say it.  They can't win.   ;D

I do not believe in the Packers.  I think Favre is an interception machine who has been pretty lucky this year.  I think the Giants front 4 have what it takes to force him to throw a bunch of picks.

An "interception machine?"  Really? He has 15 so far this year - just five more and he'll have as many as Eli.  Does that make Manning an "interception Skynet?"   ;)  And remember, Favre doesn't have a 6'5 receiver like Burress helping his game.

Yeah, he's thrown a lot of INTs over the years, but that's because he's had no talent around and him and put all the pressure on himself to win games.  He's not doing that this year - he's taking what the defense gives him and that's why they're winning games.  Having Ryan Grant roll for 200+ yards in a game certainly isn't hurting either.

That's good stuff everyone - but too bad Umenyiora and Strahan are going to drop Favre like he's hot.

This Bowl's gonna be NY vs. NE.

Nice to see your team make it so far, but they've got zero chance of keeping up with the Pack at historic Lambeau Field.  Green Bay even spotted Seattle 14pts at the start of the game and STILL ended up scoring 42...imagine what they could do if they were really trying?  I just hope San Diego can muster enough healthy offensive players to field a team against the Pats this week.   ::)

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 30AC Star Wars Comic Packs
« on: January 14, 2008, 01:34 PM »
Canadian perspective:

Basic figure price:
Walmart: $8.92
TRU: $9.99

Comic 2 packs:
TRU: $16.99
Zellers: $14.99

Whatcha all complainin' about?  12% tax added onto those prices too.

We now return you to your proper thread topic...

You should just move to Minnesota.  You would be much happier here, eh?  ;D

If you decide to actually make this, you should check out a book called something like Star Wars Cross Sections.  I think this lays out every piece of the Falcon and would likely make a good blueprint for you.

I enjoyed it- and I guess the whole bank vault thing made sense.  I thought the time displacement device was destroyed the first time, but I guess not.  Maybe they can explain that all Terminators and protectors were sent at the same time, to different time periods before the machine was destroyed.  After all, Skynet could theoretically send back a Terminator to every second of Sarah's or John's existence, or even to kill Sarah's parents.  It just gets out of control that way; they need to limit how many times the displacement device can be used.  Also, I don't mind different actors for different T-800s; in fact, in the first movie, Reese's flashback to the Terminator attack inside the Resistance's base had a different actor (we don't see him TOO well, but he's Arnold's real bodybuilder friend Franco Columbu).  If every single T-800 looked like Arnold, they'd always be able to spot him immediately.  Better that Arnold T-800 is a sub-model of many different T-800 models.
Sidenote: I want to recommend the 2 novels by S. M. Stirling called T2:Infiltrator and T2:Rising Storm.  They are a sort of "Sarah Connor Chronicles" in themselves, and feature a female bad Terminator called an Infiltrator.

Couple of thoughts here:

1.) I seem to recall Reese saying in T1 that only he and Arnold were able to get through before the device was destroyed.  If Skynet had unlimited terminators to send, why not just send 100 terminators back to the same timeline? That doesn't mean there wasn't a second device though.  We don't have a clear picture of what happened with the future battle, but I don't think its far fetched for Skynet to have created a second device or to have rebuilt it using its original plans.  There has to be some other device out there in order for T2 and T3 to have happened.  I'm not sure how they would wipe out Skynet anyway - seems like the tech would be there for its "essence" to move wirelessly to back up machines if it was faced with destruction.

2.) I'm perfectly fine with multiple 800 series models as well.  If you just made one and they all looked the same, the resistance would be able to spot them as easily as a robot version.  But if you had 10-20-100 different versions, you could keep doing the same trick over and over.

Its interesting to note that Skynet can't completely wipe out humanity at any time prior to its own creation or it would end up erasing itself from existence.  What I don't get so far is the mention last night that Engineers were sent back in time to build a new device.  If they can do that, why not send terminators back in time and have them focus on building skynet instead of hunting JC?

Both NFC games were really exciting this weekend.  I was thrilled that the Giants won and hope they can go on and win the whole thing.  If they keep playing like they have since the Patriots game, it's very possible.

You may have missed the Packers and their 42 points against the Pondhawks this weekend.  I hope the Giants do some nice sight seeing in Green Bay and take the opportunity to get Favre's autograph, cuz they aren't leaving with anything else.  Packers - Patriots: 1996 Super Bowl Grudge Match!

The first hour was okay, but this just seems like another filler until 24 gets back on its feet.  I really don't care for the actress they chose to play Sarah, but I dig the young female terminator for obvious reasons.  I'll leave now without spoiling anything except for the following:

Teachernator + leg + knife + gun = awesome   ;D

I thought it was a really good pilot episode.  Definitely tuning in to see more tomorrow.  It still has suck potential, but I like all the main characters.  Can't believe you don't like Lena, Mike - I think she was great as a new SC.  I'm a little less fond of the teenaginator at this point, just because a teenage female terminator seems a little outside of what I would have envisioned for Skynet's attack plan.  That being said, I think they gave us a big clue that something is different about her based on her comments at the gas station.  Maybe she's not a skynet creation?

The assortments are listed right on the form that was posted.  Current Basic Line and Legends figs are likely all that will work with this offer.

Both Mannings will lose today.

I'd like to change my last pick to Dallas (game hasn't started yet).

HAHAHAHA!  Now that was funny.  Normally couldn't care whether Dallas wins or not, but nice for the Giants to have to come to Green Bay next week.  Here's hoping we get another snow storm!   ;D

You should have just used the site to store thing.  Worked pretty well for me last time I used it.  I've yet to crack open my Screamer yet, guess I'm waiting for my Megs first.   :-\

I did this a little over a week ago, but have yet to be notified that WM got it in.   >:(  Hope it still comes, what with it already being paid for and all.   >:(  >:(  >:(

STILL no Starscream at Wal-Mart.   >:(

I am so stoked about this line.  I wonder what 12 figures they will start with. I hope this line continues like the legends line and produces 100's of figures.  my top picks for the first twelve are

Wolerine
Spiderman
Thing
Green Goblin
Magneto
Punisher
Capt America
Hulk
Nick Fury
Silver Surfer
Rouge
Cyclops

The selections for this line are endless
I can't wait to see a nightcrawler and Iceman the same scale as Darth Vader and Indiana Jones.   Now this brings me back to my childhood when all figures were made in the same scale.  Now if Hasbro had and Did Battlestar Galactica and DC Heroes in the scale I be in debt far worse then I am now.  Throw in Star Trek and I would be selling blood by the Gallons.

Wow, I really hope that is NOT the lineup.  Nick Fury? Punisher? Thing? Ick. I'd much rather see these guys:

Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
Hawkeye
Warbird/Ms. Marvel
Vision
Scarlet Witch
Tigra
Black Knight
Emma Frost
Wolverine
Wasp
Yellowjacket
AntMan
WonderMan
Spiderman
Psylocke
Moon Knight
War Machine
