The Vintage Collection / Re: Big Items of the Future!

I would consider that fairly insanely low for a Star Wars item that required massive tooling investment (if that is the case).  That’s much more in the realm of what “boutique” toy line runs are like.  And they often do sell out.  Would be curious how it compares to the other sets out.

About the haslab thing, Yakface retweeted some graphic that mentioned it finding and stuff.  That’s weird.  I kinda wondered about this set when it was a fair size piece and price, but then Patrick said no Haslab in the QnA and now this image… I’ll post the tweet if I can find it… here it is: https://twitter.com/yak_face/status/1492455272484384770?s=21

Mine is arriving Monday.  Someone I know ordered two but only one has shown up I guess.  Will be interested to see how that pans out.

I lol’d.  Probably still not as bad as Australia.

I dunno why but I didn’t bat an eye at ordering this immediately at 1.  Can’t wait for it and will be retiring the Barge for this to take its shelf spot.  Absolutely love it.  Given how all the other sets went on clearance, coupled with the complaining about this one’s price (I’m fine with it personally), I’ll be curious to see how this does.  Wonder what kind of run it’s going to have.

As noted in the big stuff of the future thread, the door is open to a lot as long as they feel it’s financially viable.  This being an exclusive almost had to have a lower run in mind, but the Trophy Wall was too and I got those for $20.  This one having a truly exclusive figure will be a driving force too I think, for the carded crowd.

If you can afford it, it’s a nice time to collect.  It’s not 2007-09, but it is still nice in a different way.

Basically agree with all the thoughts presented so far…

I’d love a Cantina in some form or other.  The Palace was a must buy when I saw it, and far more appealing to me as a display for Jabba goons than the barge is.  It makes me seriously consider selling my barge to be honest.

The Navarro cantina is something of a letdown to me, but a Mos Eisley Cantina in a similar format to this Palace would be slick.  I too would like something like a Destroyer bridge like this.  So far all the playsets they’ve done have hit clearance… pretty steeply too.  While it’s cool for stocking up, it’s making me wonder how this Palace is gonna turn out.  I think if they do smaller runs it may sell out and that would be kinda funny to me given how much fit throwing I’ve read about the price.

It’s a really nice looking “centerpiece” type or product though.  Much more than just a playset, but a real eye catcher on a display wall.

501st unavailable.  Not sure if it sold out or what.  Would maybe like a couple of him but I’m not sure if I care about clones anymore unless they’re new or special in some way.

I’m missing the one BB and chopper because the CHP is of course insane to find.  I got four so I’m thankful but this is annoying.  No guarantee they’re never coming back and no guarantee they’re not so, as Anakin weirdly said, I say patience.  It’s probably best way to deal with it.

Mine has shown no inkling of moving.  No processing or anything.

Big ups to Dave on the link as well for Amazon.  Ordered 8 extras and with my EE case that’ll be it for me (for now).

I too am hoping for an army building pack of sorts, for Imperial Army grunts.

Yeah you either pay one way or you pay another way… due to them selling out, I’d seen no reason to pay for premium at that time.  Now?  Eh, it’s become a definite gamble to buy into the program.  Will I make 8-ish purchases a year from them?  I’m just not sure.

The irony of the situation is, had they left things as they were, I was totally ready to just chuck a rft pack in for the free shipping and be done with a pulse order for extras.  Now?  Ehhhhh

The flat shipping fee is not bad but a deterrent if there are options.

Last I’d heard they’re sold out at wdw, but not dl

Mando and Book o Boba looks, so yes, another drops tomorrow.

Friend is sending me 4… I’ll be missing the two that appear to be the more difficult to find but I think he’ll get me covered.  Love the boxes haha.  I’m easily entertained by background boxes I guess.

I’ve seen some previews of this online and I’m ho hum on it honestly.  I’m disappointed in the door and window not being plastic, and the exterior not being covered.  The opening door on the Tantive IV is a feature I really enjoy and will miss on this set.  I like the bar goodies and the quasi expandability of the overall set, but the exterior will annoy me for sure.

I was equally dejected with the Tantive IV backside of the walls lacking detail.  The Jabba Palace was a better presentation that way and it was plausible for them to do some imprinted detail.  Little things such as these have annoyed me on the sets… ironically the Carbon Freeze set, to me, is the nicest singular display but it’s not a modular thing at all.  Two and done.

The Tantive would be better with a little more freedom in how one were to display it, but it has limitations too.  This Navarro Cantina seems to have similar issues.  Kind of weird they don’t leave a little more freedom to the buyer to expand it so they’re enticed to buy more.

I support the idea but if I get extras they’re on sale now.
