The Wookiee Arcade / Re: JediDefender Battlefront/Commando Clan
« on: August 25, 2004, 11:52 AM »
It would just be a name, wouldn't have to be jedi based.

My thought being is that if there are 100 people playing on "rebelscum" clans.  You'd be seeing rebelscum all over the place right?  or "Galactic defenders", etc.

Same thing here.  If people logged on and saw JD or jedidefender it'd be the same.

I'd think of it as entirely FREE advertising.   If you called it the "galacticbombadiers" or something that could be any of 100 groups out there.  No connaction to the site whatsoever.

Anyhow, just my .02.

I'm gonna be logged in under bobafett14, that way people will see me on the game, so people will know who I am.   and also anyone who doesn't like me ... now gets the chance to take me out with a sniper rifle ;^)

Which game buying?  Battlefront for PS2
Name plan to go by?  Bobafett14
Side to play for?  either, prob empire not real important
Clan name?  I would prob suggest having something with jedidefender in it.
Good for advertising, letting people know who you are with online, also can be bad letting people know who you are online ;^)

Something simple like:
Jedidefenders1(for alliance)  TAG (JD1)
Jedidefenders2(for empire)   TAG (JD2)

I TOTALLY agree with Diddly Squat!
If you go with something other than along the lines of jedidefender you sort of lose your identity don't you? (hey why not let people know who you are)

As far as leaders, I'm brand spankin new to the whole online gaming thing(just got my PS2 online stuff this week, been palying SOCOM mostly to get preparred for Battlefront.) so this time I'll be a follower and not a leader ;^)

so Keep me in the loop, any help/tutorials is greatly appreciated here.

As far as playtime I'll be able to play mostly Fri-Sun. for sure, Mon and Thurs eve. possibly. (depends on my travel schedule for work)  once game is up and running I'm guessing people should be posting thier "playtimes" as well.

Other Collectibles / Tusken miniatures promo
« on: August 21, 2004, 12:20 PM »
Just got it this past weekend, and I have to say it's the best mini promo to date.

This line looks very promising.  The paint job on this thing is superb.  Jesse and I were checking it out Thurs.  Even the silver "eyes" have a silver paint, black in the center and for as tiny is this piece is...WOW.

The cape has a crisscross burplap looking paint job.  It's relly good stuff.

See in the 3rd poster, unbeknownst to most fans....Darth Vader was also a trend setter.  He was one of the first to really make the preppie "collar-up" a popular fashion statement...way ahead of the 80's fashion fads to follow.

Hehe, Jesse was just over tonight, funny there was one lone survivor, he hit the recessed lights where I sprayed, and BAM hit the ground.

You see, I had called in some jedidefender backup just in case ;^)

Heh, we just started our first offensive "  "Raid" the nest" on the yellow jackets Tues.  They decided to nest right outside the basement, and when we went in, they outsmarted us and decided to invade the basement.

by Wed. AM  bravo14  had to regroup and plan another offensive.

This morning saw the "Maxide offensive" (maxide yellow jacket spray was dropped shipped just in time) we decided to spray around the recessed lightning before we circled outside and hit thier rear flank.

Now, we pretty much have the puppy running some recon missions around the basement cleaning up thier downed troops.

Tonight around twenty one hundred hours, will see the destruction of thier base and the end of the beebellion.

Yeah, at the Fanclub breakfast everyone got an Indiana Jones paper goodie bag filled with tons of stuff-figs, album, records, card packs, t-shirts, postcards, and some other vintage stuff-U.K. presto magic type thing, bookmarks, film cels, so-on and so-on.

The widevision pack was in there.

Goes to show once again, you STILL can't be sure what you get from figure grading, which STILL renders it utterly useless in my opinion.

Great pics and comparisons, this is the stuff I've been asking for for years, and no one wants anyone to see this becasue of all the people that have spent their $$ on AFA  wouldn't want thier invesment to be rendered useless.  To me this proves they are the Enron of the figure collecting world ;^)

Here's a completely obvious case of a tamperd figure still being graded!  What a sham!  I'd feel cheated if I dealt with them-professional graders my butt.

Great investigating DSJ!.....Brilliant! You are to be commended!

So now next time you see a graded figure on ebay now you should be able to get it for much MUCH less as we all know it now means absolutely nothing!

Here's my experience,

If you have homeowners or renter insurance it should be covered(mine is). Howver, I actually have a stipulation that covers an additonal $40,000 that is only a few $ more per year (not sure something like $8-$10ish??)

Also I found a booth at San Diego that dealt with Collectors Insurance.

Here's the info:

Collectibles Insurance Agency
1-888-837-9537
info@insurancecollectibles.com

To give an idea:
$14/yr.  covers $3,000
up to
$614 covers $200,000  (also price depends on alarm systems, etc.)

based on replacement value

Collector's Tips / fig care-hairspray
« on: August 8, 2004, 10:26 AM »
I have my upstairs wall covered in figs in protecto packs.  One thing I noticed this week while dusting the cases off is that the ones right outside the bathroom door had a huge buildup of what appeared to be dust, it actually ened up being the wife's hairspray reside(basically a white dust)

I used a wet paper towel to wipe the cases, but I noticed a few no matter how much you wiped, a few of the cases had kind of a "rough" feel to them on top, so it appears that the hairspray may actually break down(or blend into) the plastic ever so slightly.

So,  gotta remember to try to keep any figs/bubbles away from hairspray.

Just an FYI.
