I didnt see a thread for this so i figured I'd start one.
Finally got my Rhino figure. Lacks articulation but overall i really enjoy it. I love that the armor is removable to give it a more classic than Ultimate look.
-
Yeah, Rhino is pretty cool. I find this line is kind of rotting on the pegs in my area though, all the villains disappear pretty quick but all the goofy Spidey variants just won't move.
-
I see kids buying them, its pretty much the same as with the Toy Biz Spider-Man line. Everyone fights for the villians and the kids tend to buy the rest. The 3 i have bought from the line are Rhino, Green Goblin, and Hobgoblin.
-
I got a Doc Ock from this line the other day, he's not bad, though I'm not sure which specific comic appearance he's based on if any though. He's got some weird articulation though. Below the waist is pretty much Star Wars level, but the arms are ball socket shoulders and swivel biceps of all things. No albows or wrists. Just an odd, fairly useless articulation point. I've also gotten Venom, Rhino and Gobby from this line. They lack articulation, but I think the sculpting is pretty solid, fortunately a lack of articulation doesn't bother me too much since I usually just stick these things in a static pose on the shelf anyway.
-
I am waiting for a more classic style Doc Ock, i hope they get to one soon.

I currently find this Marvel Legends Showdown 3 3/4" version to be tough to beat. He displays really well with all of your Marvel Universe figures:

-
Doc Ock is one of the cheaper figures in that line on eBay, he can usually be had for about $10ish.
Some of the better figures in that line are pricey now, but not this guy.
-
That's the Doc Ock I have on display with my 3 3/4" stuff as well. I always thought that was one of the better figures of the Showdown line, at least the ones that I saw or picked up. I think he fits in pretty well with the current stuff too.

Finally found a Rhino from this line today but I couldn't bring myself to pay the $8.44 Target wants for Marvel figures.

Where are they going for cheaper?
-
I think they're $6.96 at local Wal-Marts (same as Iron Man figures)
-
Carnage is coming!

Found another Rhino today at a grocery store of all places, and they only wanted $6, so into the basket he went.
Also based on the SDCC pics, not much is happening in this line in the near future other than Carnage and a new Venom.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed in the lack of news for the Spidey line as well. Honestly, it just seems to be a lot of various Spideys with an odd villain thrown in here and there. Of course, I guess that is pretty much how the line has always been run. I do check the pegs here every so often, and I can't say they are flying off the shelves.
-
Saw the new Spider-Man battlepacks at TRU today, kind of liked the Venom but passed on both sets.

They're down to $6.99 at Targets around here.

Good news - I've been seeing more Rhinos lately, mainly at Wal-Mart
Bad news - Prices are up to $8
-
just noticed that the Spiderman wave with Carnage in it is shipping from EE, so maybe we might see him popping up at retail? yeah right I forgot... he is one per case....
??? seriously Hasbro
just did a quick ebay search and no sign of him there yet.
-
I picked up Carnage this morning at Wal-Mart.

I like it. He doesn't have ankle or waist/torso articulation, but other than that, it's a nice figure.
-
I found Carnage yesterday at Walmart. Combined with finding the Sentry, I've now found 2 out of 3 things Neal has (not Marvel Universe Wave 11 yet), and that ain't bad. In fact that's a borderline miracle.
Carnage is okay. Couple things though, like Neal said the articulation could have been better. Also the black goo lattice deco is kinda interrupted on the figure and doesn't extend onto the ball joint part of the hips and looks kinda weird as a result. Additionally the teeth are painted in black, for some reason, even though in the 3 pictures of Carnage on the package they are all white.
So basically 5 minutes with a paint brush will fix most of this, and then he's pretty good.
-
Found Carnage today at WM. I'm now through with this line until we get some new villains.

^^ here ya go! (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HMV93570F)
1x Aerial Attack Spider-Man w/ Zip Line Attack
2x Ultimate Scorpion
2x Classic Lizard
2x Cosmic Crusade Spider-Man
2x Electric Impact Black Costume Spider-Man
1x Dive Attack Spider-Man
1x Super Poseable Spider-Man
1x Blaster Armor Spider-Man
thankfully they are packed 2 per case - can't wait to see them!
odd that, according to EE, wave 5 is shipping after wave 6 - probably an error, right?
-
Glad to see there may be some more villains in the future for this line. I suppose it has always been this way with the various Spidey lines, but it is just a sea of Spider-Men around here.
-
Classic lizard sounds good, ultimate scorpion not so much

It looks like pics are up with that listing now as well.

Lizard looks good; Scorpion not so much.

Not the scorpion i want at all but better than i was expecting.

I know this isn't exactly Hasbro Spidey, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this. I see that Hot Toys has announced their 1/6 scale movie Spider-Man figure (http://www.marvelousnews.com/index.php?catid=23&itemid=13684). It is technically from Spider-man 3, but he's in his red and blues and despite a few differences could really pass for any of the movies. I've often admired the other Hot Toys stuff that's been posted here (Iron Man stuff in particular), but I'm a little tempted with this Spidey figure. Looks pretty nifty.
-
So from Toy Fair, it sounds like this line is basically treading water until next year when the new movie hits. New figure-wise, I'll probably only pick up Lizard - if I can find him.
-
Lizard and Venom, other than that not much else too exciting. Wish scorpion wasnt the ultimate version.
-
Yeah, pretty light showing for Spidey stuff - although I guess I'm not surprised with everything else Hasbro has on its plate this year (Cap, Thor, Transformers, etc.). I still haven't found Carnage locally, but I'll likely pick up Lizard and possibly Venom as well.
-
I'm still missing Carnage as well. Would like to pick him up but stores get so dull for toys from January to September up here unfortunately.

Seems like the venom i want is out. At least in canada anyway. Thas where the one on ebay is being offered from. :-\
-
Scorpion, and Lizard are up for pre-order on HTS. I would order but there isn't enough stuff I want atm. I will end up kicking myself for this later.

Wow, Lizard looks great, but that Scorpion is awful.
-
Shocker still seems to only be hitting in Canada sadly, no luck again today.
-
Oh no my friend. Luck is good today. ;)

Good news indeed! Still trying to find a Cable for you.

Stumbled on the new wave of figs today at WM. Black Suited Ninja Spidey, Space Suit Spidey, SA Spidey in new packaging and the holy grails, Lizard and Scorpion. Snagged Lizard but stood there for 30 minutes wondering if I should snag Scorpion for trade bait. Ended up passing since there isn't any other Marvel stuff I want. Might regret that decision later.

I got a Stretch Strike Venom from a friend this morning. He found two at a local TRU.

Happy to help the Canadians out with that burden. PM sent.

Apparently Australian Kmarts are getting a spider-man set with an anti-venom repaint. Anyone here in Australia? I would like a set.

Only person I recall from Aus is Hemish.

I am sure we will see them flooding Kmart soon

Australian right here.
The Amazing Spider Man 4" line is VERY prolific in all retail stores right now.
-
My apologies 501st. Duly noted there is more than one (managed to resist the lame Sith implication - mostly).
-
Wal-Marts here have been flooded with I guess Wave 2 since the movie hit theaters. Lots of crappy Concept Spideys and a half-invisible Lizard repaint.
-
I mentioned this in the Toy Fair thread, but I recently found a case of "Ultimate Spider-Man" figures at Target here (based on the new animated series). I remember reading that the Avengers and Spidey movies lines would both eventually be transitioning to a cartoon focus (a new Avengers cartoon debuts later this year), but this was the first I had seen of the product at retail really. These were the 3 3/4" line, and the entire case consisted of only two different Spideys. One "regular", and one more blue variation (I forget the actual names, I think the regular version is "Crime Fightin" or something like that. Anyways, they are very simple figures with 5 points of articulation (neck, ball shoulders, hips), and simple paint apps. Priced at $5.99. Although the price is nice, I wonder if this is what we're going to start seeing more of from Hasbro and their action figure lines. They are definitely "toys" (which I guess is what they are supposed to be), and not aimed at collectors, but I just sort of wonder what this means for a line like Marvel Universe down the road. I know there is also a 6" line for Ultimate Spidey that is more in line with past Legends stuff (or similar, I haven't seen it in person), but I'm curious to see at Toy Fair what is shown for the various Marvel lines.
-
The bigger line is a kid-aimed line.

-
Whoops, it appears so. I hadn't seen all of those before, but had seen a Spidey and Nova which looked at least similar in articulation and scale. I guess more like previous Spidey 6" lines was a better way to say it than Legends. Seeing those in your post though, they do seem a little more animated-looking.
-
I saw the Ultimate Spidey figs the other day at Target too. Good for kids I guess. I might be interested in some unmade villains but I doubt we see any.

I saw these today. I was incorrect (or whatever website I saw the carded photos at was). The $10 Power Webs figures are 4" scale but bit bulkier than that cheapo $6 carded Spider-Man (as the photos show).
There were 6-inch figures I saw that are barely articulated and were in open style packaging.
-
I do not like this trend to cheaper, less articulated, junky Marvel figures.
I hope their target audience buys enough of these things to make up for the fact that I am buying zero.
Thank God the Marvel Universe line is still going.
