Hey Jeff, that was quick! Thanks
-
Holy crap!
-
I NEED THAT SET!!!!! :o :o :o
-
I'm still trying to figure out if this is a box set or essentially Series 11? ???
The link says 1344Yen, which would seem to indicate they will be sold separately as a series and not in a box set...

I wonder that would do for chase figures then?
-
I think we have to leave open the possibility these will come in blisters.
Although the price is somewhat lower then recent blister releases (e.g. Shadow Guard JPY1575)
-
Holy crap, that one came out of the blue. I think those are pretty cool. Can any of your die-hards figure out what difference (if any) there are in the "vintage toy" version and the Series 1 version(s)?
-
The Series 1 "vintage" fett was just the standard fett with vintage colors on the gauntlets. This new Vintage Fett is exactly that - sculpted/painted to look like the vintage kenner Fett.
This new one has a weapon that looks like a classic kenner Fett weapon and the colors are much truer to the Kenner fett. Also, it looks like his helmet sculpt more closely resembles the kenner fett - he doesn't have a separate range finder on his helmet, it's sculpted right onto the front of the helmet.
-
Pretty....
I sent off a request for information from someone that can read Japanese. Those are a must have (and a harbinger of a Droids box set? ;) :P)
-
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :o
Man, where the hell did they come from! Holy mother of Kuby goodness! 8)
So this is a June sale, boy next year is going good. ;D

Yepper, that is definatelly a vintage Fett modeled after the figure. Also the placement of I guess the shoulder pads are different from the series 1 & chase Fett's. Zoinks! Now with that range finder sculpted to the helmet, what are the chances of seeing a Rocket Fett? :D

The Droids Fett is different from the carded version too.

Sweet mother :o! This is definitely a must have for me. I wish we had more details on this collection of awesomeness! The McQuarrie Fetts look fantastic and will go well next to last year's Hasbro figures.
-
I really want this set! Hell, I would even like a second to display with my Fett stuff. Hope these aren't real hard to get.
-
These look sweet, but I don't know if I want to know how much it's going to cost me to get a set of them.

I love the version based on the vintage figure, it looks fantastic.
-
I am surprised they didnt go witht he prototype boba fett instead of a third white version. Still love this set but it would have been cool to get a prototype version.

Me too, even the blaster looks good.
I'll only be after this one out of the lot though..........

Their on pre-order at Medicom's online stores:

http://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/project1-6/kubno246.html
JPY16128 for a case of 12. Thats JPY64512 for a MC.
This confrms this will not be a box set release
I wonder what the assortments will be...there may be some chases to watch out for
-
Anybody know anyone who is ordering? I'd like at least a sealed box of 12 if not a master case. I'm just wondering about chase figs. With my luck I'll just end up with a bunch of Bobas. :)
-
I'd really like to get at a minimum a case of 12. I'd be ecstatic with a Master Case of these, but a case of 12 will work. Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves for chase figures with this release!
-
Well crap, the Medicom store. They don't ship over here as far as I know. :-\
-

You think they would do a Jeremy Bulloch Kubrick or a Ralph McQuarrie Kubrick as chase figures?

16,128 yen = $178.31 US per 12.
64,512 yen = $713.30 US for a MC.
Oy! :-\
-
blister.jp also have these up for preorder.
Kubrick - Star Wars/Boba Fett: Set of 6 (http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.blister.jp%2Fitem10710.html&lp=ja_en&btnTrUrl=Translate)
Reservation price: 6,400 yen for 12 or $70. US.
Selling price: 8,064 yen for 12 or $90. US.
That's s big ******' difference in price from the Medicom store.
Wish the hell they would ship here. :-\
-
That's a huge difference. I really wish we had a way of getting these at a reasonable price. I have a feeling that these are going to go for a heafty price on the secondary market.
-
Dale, the Blister pre-order is for a set of 6, not a box of 12... that's why it looks so much cheaper.
On the Medicom site it lists retail price for the Fetts as 1344 each and 6 x 1344 = 8064. Also, if you double that 8064 for a set of 6, you get exactly what Medicom is charging for 12 = 16128. Sorry to burst your bubble... :-\
-
Ah well crap on a stick! I wondered why the huge price difference, not good at all. :'(
Well I just hope HLJ posts something on the site in the new year, I may have to go with them like series 10 thus far. But at those prices for a MC, it may be to far to reach like a dream to go to the moon back in the day. :-\
These prices of Kubys are going to kill us I'm afraid. :'(
I have said it before & I'll say it again... I miss Robby.
-
Yeah, once again it's very obvious how spoiled we were with Robby. :(
I still haven't decided what to do with Series 10 and I'm not sure what I will do here... I really, really want to buy a MC to keep the tradition alive, but I just don't know if it's worth it anymore. I guess I have to hope for a HUGE US$ rebound in 2009 - as the dollar grows stronger, the price gets better... but if the economy keeps tanking, a weaker dollar could add even MORE cost by the time June gets here. :'(
-
I defintiely want a set of 6 of these. I'm not sure I'd be all that interested in the Master Case (or even box of 12). I like the concept of these but I don't want to sit on a ton of extra Fetts.
-
Skip the boards for a couple of days, and all Fett hits the fan! That Han's hideout site is pretty cool, first time I ran across it- sweet pics!
I wouldn't mind getting a box of 12, or splitting a MC with someone. But I also have no need for 20+ extra Fetts sitting around whining "I'm the last mandalorian!" "No, I am!"
-
Well, if somebody finds a way to get a MC or case of 12 let me know
-
Someone posted this link on Rebelscum.
http://www.toys-chameleon.com/new.cgi?id=2330
Still kinda pricey but it looks like they ship international.

I have heard of toys-chameleon before, never delt with them tho.
Box of 12: 12,200 yen or $135. US.
MC: 48,800 yen or $538. US.
$43.31 less per 12 & $175.30 for a MC. Quit the jump down in cost with them.
They don't take CC payments thus far but do take Paypal payments plus a 5% fee. Looks like you have to pay when the item is instock & they send you a Paypal invoice.
Even with what english is on the site, I still get nowhere looking. :-\
-
I was thinking about ordering from the toys-chameleon but I can't get the English order form to pop up.
-
I was able to submit a pre-order by hitting the pink box right under the pre-order button.
-
I did too but it takes you to a page that's all in Japanese. :-\
-
I tried ordering but couldnt add 4 boxes to the order?
Did you guys get it to add 4 boxes?
-
Yeah, no problem doing that. The little arrow box for the quantities, I select 4 then hit the preorder button just below that box then it take you to a page to what looks like a review of the order & to add your information but it's all Japanese. I just removed the 4 boxes by clicking "削除" next to the amount of 48800 or it holds what's in your cart.
-
Well, if anyone figures out how to order it and get the English form up let me know. I still get the Japanese form coming up.
-
Ok, me thinks I got the english order form but I cannot add 4 boxes to the order. It only brings up the 1 box which I think is what Dan is asking in his post.
As I mentioned earlier, the little arrow box for the quantities you can select 4 then hit the preorder button just below that box then it take you to a page to what looks like a review of the order & to add your information but it's all Japanese. Don't go there, if you do remove the amount of boxes by clicking "削除" next to the amount of 48800 or it holds what's in your cart.
Click the box that mentions "Please click here for order & preorder this item. You can find the international shipping cost too".
It takes you to another page "Overseas Shipping Policy". Scroll to the bottom of the page & click the "Agree" button.
It's take you to an english order page & gives you the total for the order but for only 1 box of 12. 12810 yen [Paypal Fee 5% Included].
So now this is the brick wall, how in the hell like Dan mentioned do you make the order for 4 boxes. Do you just submit the one order & in the message box ask them to change the order to a sealed MC of 4 boxes?
-
Well, I have a set of 12 on pre-order now too. Thanks for the help. At least I have a chance of getting the regular set.
-
I didn't see that agree part there, thanks for the help. I preordered a box of 12, at least I hope I did.
-
You should get an e-mail on the preorder, I did & only for the box of 12 which is good enough for me.
-
Yeah, I got an email too. I'm happy with the 12 myself. I'll worry if there is a chase later.
-
I got my email today, so it went thru. I hope they can deliver on them
-

Yep, that was and is my problem as well. I e-mailed them but have not heard back yet.
-
Sweet mother of all that is holy! That set is really great. I'm surprised to see them doing a whole set of Fett like that, but, he does seem to be an ever-popular figure. I don't think I'm going to try and order a box but I'd love to pick up the McQuarrie, Holiday Special and Kenner versions of the figures to go with the 3.75" counterparts.
Very, very cool.
E...
-
I got a paypal invoice from them already. I thought I read it as they wouldn't send out an invoice until it was about ready to ship. With the extra fee and shipping it pushed it to over $200 :o
-
it pushed it to over $200 :o
I was debating ordering a box from them too, but if it's going to be $200+ with shipping for a box of 12, then forget it. :(
Guess I continue to scour the 'net for good deals... :-\
-
I received a Paypal invoice too after I received an e-mail mentioning that they are ready to take your pre-order & will send a Paypal invoice soon. I rechecked the 1st e-mail after the order was placed & the e-mail mentioned that "Please check it & pre-pay your pre-orders amount through Paypal. Your pre-order will comfirm when your money transefer is complete".
As per the site:
If your ordered [in stock] item, we will send you a Paypal invoice in 1 or 2 days. Please check it. We will ship the merchandise to you A.S.A.P after we confirm your payment through our Paypalaccount. We will inform you the EMS tracking number after we ship it.
If you ordered [pre-order] item, we will inform you when the merchandise is available. And we will send you a Paypal invoice. We will ship the merchandise to you A.S.A.P after we confirm your payment through our Paypal account. We will inform you the EMS tracking number after we ship it.
The site sure as hell did not mention anything about a pre-payment on the pre-order. Sounding for like ActionHQ all over again. ::)
The subtotal with the 5% fee was 12,810 yen or $142. US.
Shipping is 5,600 yen or $62. US :o :o :o :o
Total is 18,410 yen or $204. US.
Are they ******' kidding me, $62. US to ship that box EMS! I can get a box of 12 (Series 9) shipped from HLJ for $23. US EMS.
They can go **** themselves, I'm ignoring them! >:(
-
I got my invoice as well but i am not spending that for a box of 12. I will wait it out for ebay.
-
Well I guess I'll just hold out & hope that HLJ gets this collection, going to be pricey regardless but the shipping will be better & like I mentioned before I can cancel before they get it instock & I don't have to pay till it is instock.
This set is going to be pricey anyway but not $62. shipping pricey. ::)
-
What does HLJ stand for? Otherwise it's looking like I'll have to look towards e-bay when these release.

-
What does HLJ stand for?
HLJ = Hobby Link Japan (http://www.HobbyLinkJapan.com)
-
Here's an example that I got in another collecting field I do from HLJ, I ordered this Space 1999 V.I.P. Eagle Transporter (http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS09114) which is a 12" diecast vehicle shipped to me for 2,800 yen or about $30.-$35. US EMS. The box it came in is almost the same size as a Kuby MC, about 1" shorter & the weight would be a tad lighter.
Shipping for a MC when I delt with HLJ bofore Robby came around was close to $45. US not like the $62. US for a box of 12.
I'm not even sure HLJ will carry this set but I can't see why not as it's not a exclusive to anyone, hopefully in the new year HLJ will have them on the site when they do an update whenever that is.
-
Wow, this kind of took me by surprise. I'm even more surprised that it's essentially another "series" release and not a boxed set or something. I'll have to figure out a way to get these. You'd think that having in-laws in Japan would be a big advantage, but there are still a lot of issues that have to be worked out for them to be able to help me get releases like this. One problem is that they don't like to use their credit card online and most places won't accept a foreign card. And I don't like to burden them by asking them to do a bank transfer or something.
-
I just checked HLJ & nothing thus far, will keep checking them & hope for the best. :-\
-
My invoice was cancelled from toys-chameleon, good riddance. The search continues... :-\

This item will be available for ship within 30 days from the date of purchase
Yeah, sure it will. It's a long wait till it's released in June.
-
As to be expected, someone bin'd that auction. I can see the price jump now for every bin. :-\
-
Wow, how did I miss the posts on this set earlier? I usually don't cave on expensive Kubies, but I may have to make an exception for this one. Anyone find a source to order from other than Ebay?
-
I thought we found a source with the toys-chamelon but the shipping they wanted was just absurd.
-
Yes absurd shipping plus they wanted a Paypal payment before they actually received the products.
-
HLJ has the Boba Fett Collection (http://www.hlj.com/product/MEDKUB-246) up for preorder for 14,592 yen for a box of 12pcs. So that's about $160.32 US or for a MC, $649.28 US showing a June release date.
Preorder this item by Mar. 3 to get it for 5% off the regular price of 15,360 yen!
I think I will just get a box of 12, the prices are just way too high for anything more. :-\
-
Yikes, that is high for a box of 12... If I'm not able to get my own box of 12, I'd be happy to take your extras off your hands DSJ ;)
BTW, I am NOT pleased that you changed your avatar. I think that I've told you on more than one occasion that it was my favorite one on this site. Can I please get a moment of silence...
-
I heard from my friend in Japan today and he indicated that Medicom/Blister informed him that a box of 12 does not guarantee two full sets :o Now, I don't know what that exactly means. It could mean they're simply going with a mixed ratio to assure a certain Fett version is more abundant or it could mean there will be chase figures. I cannot promise it is absolutely true, just relaying the message I was given.
-
Not good at all, $160. is a lot if you may not get 2 full sets. Hate like hell to get stuck with any at these prices the Kuby's are going. Might be best just to wait till the sets released & go the bay route & if there is any chase figs then track them down. :-\

Not good at all, $160. is a lot if you may not get 2 full sets.
I'm not surprised, I guess. When was the last time you got 2x full sets of 6 in a box of 12? Whenever Medicom does anything lately, it's almost always (95% of the time) a "mixed ratio" deal. I can see the "regular" Fett packed at 3x-4x per box while stuff like the B&W Fett ends up at 1x per box, just like all they've done for all the other SW Series (1:12 figures).

I just checked the preorders on BBTS & they also have a Master Case of 48 (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MED10309&mode=retail) for $749.99.
Just gotta think where to order from, BBTS or HLJ which I have till Mar. 3 to make up my mind. Lets see, the 6/49 lottery is $48,000,000 tomorrow night. Just 1 ticket... :-\

Lets see, the 6/49 lottery is $48,000,000 tomorrow night. Just 1 ticket... :-\
That's funny... The IL lottery is $120,000,000 and the WI lottery is $125,000,000... That's a lot of Kubricks!
-
Man, I thought this was going to be sold as a set, not boxes of 12...thought maybe some kind of box set.
No way I'll hunt down all the chases.
My friend in Japan just mentioned being able to get a set, not a box of 12 or Master case...I'm lost on this one...such is Kubricks.

-
Man, that's expensive. I remember ordering a box from BBTS early on an it only cost about $100 which, at the time, seemed like a lot.

Ok, this is what we have coming out for the basic set:
1: Fett (McQuarrie)
2: Fett (Holiday Special)
3: Fett (Black & White)
4: Fett (Droids)
5: Fett (Vintage Toy)
6: Fett (McQuarrie alternate)
Fett's that have been released:
1: Series 1, Boba Fett - 2 green gauntlets (ESB)
2: Series 1 chase #1, Boba Fett - 2 red gauntlets (ROTJ)
3: Series 1 chase #2, Boba Fett - 1 yellow & 1 red (Vintage)
4: Carded, "Bape" Boba Fett - Series 1 (Vintage Version)
5: Carded, Boba Fett - (Droids Version)
Not including the 400% as they are the same as 1-3, same with the Bounty Hunters carded set fett (ROTJ).
If there is to be any chase figures in this set, what would they be? Some earlier guesses below.
Now with that range finder sculpted to the helmet, what are the chances of seeing a Rocket Fett? :D
I am surprised they didnt go witht he prototype boba fett instead of a third white version. Still love this set but it would have been cool to get a prototype version.
You think they would do a Jeremy Bulloch Kubrick or a Ralph McQuarrie Kubrick as chase figures?
Or a Tri Logo Fett with unpainted knee :P
Polish, Mexican, Hungarian, Full Circle, Half Circle...
Thoughts?
-
Hmmm... if they keep the Mandalorian armor thing going maybe Jodo Kast, Fenn Shysa or Tobbi Dala.
If it were those I'd feel less inclined to get them.
-
Maybe Medicom will just surprise us with no chase figures for this particular one character themed set?
If they do put in chases, a rocket Fett in non-production colours (yellow) would be my top choice.
As it stands I'll only be after the vintage Fett so the relatively higher price is one that will be okay to absorb.
-
I'm still hoping for no chases in this one (and 2x of each per box!). Any idea when we'll have a better idea of what's actually in each box?

It's a June release so that's when we will find out what's going on. Unless something leaks out before the release date, we are SOL. :-\
-
Ok, this is what we have coming out for the basic set:
Thoughts?
Don't forget # 6, the carded Fett from the series 1 carded re-release- both red gauntlets.
I can't even guess what a mandalorian chase would be. I hope they come out with something else for the chases, like leia bespin or luke hoth.
-

So says the guy who will pay big bucks for Chase figures. I hope the Chase is something lame like an alternate JarJar. Or maybe even a fig from another line like a GI Joe Kubrick or Captain Kirk. ;)

I don't know if you guys have seen this, but the sets of six have been available for pre-order off of EBay for about $100 shipped to the U.S.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Medicom-STAR-WARS-BOBA-FETT-Kubrick-set-of-6_W0QQitemZ110357294055QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item110357294055&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

Yep, it was noted a couple (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=18627.60) pages back in the thread.
-
I went ahead & preorded a box of 12 from HLJ, $148.34 US right now but that will change as the currencey fluchuates.
If there is any chase figures then the bay it will be. :-\
-
How about a McQuarrie Stormie and Snow trooper as chases or a Rebel Trooper?

StarWars.com (http://www.starwars.com/vault/collecting/20090325.html) has a featurette on this six pack and it sounds like it's indeed a 6-piece boxed set versus it being a 12 box case with possible chases.
-
Bah, I'm only after the vintage Kenner production Fett so hope that the reference to box set is something that has been lost in translation.
If it is a box set though, some of those pre-order prices are looking cheap..........
-
Huh? ???
If it's a box set of 6, then why does Medicom list an individual figure price (1344Y) on their site? Usually, if it's a set of some kind, it says "5pc set" or "2pack" right in the listing. If you look at the Medicom site, the other SW box sets all have "Xpc set" right in the title.
- Special No.318 STAR WARS KUBRICK 5pcs SET
- Special No.317 STAR WARS KUBRICK JANGO FETT & BOBA FETT 2PACK
- Special No.298 STAR WARS KUBRICK SERIES 2 SET OF 6pcs. COLLECTORS EDITION
- No.246 STAR WARS BOBA FETT COLLECTION
- No.244 STAR WARS SERIES 10
- No.237 KUBRICK STAR WARS SERIES 9
Notice the Fett listing is just "No." and not "Special No." listed. The Fett listing has been assigned a regular Kubrick Serial number (246)? Why do that if it's a box set?
Strange... all the evidence points to "series", not "box set". You would think the Official Site would know what they are talking about, but... do they this time? :-\
-
I'm leaning to "no" they don't know. I say this because my buddy initially ordered me six pieces direct from Blister. He later emailed me to say that 12 pieces, or one box, was the minimum order. Time will tell, but I'm guessing someone isn't paying close attention.
-
I'm hoping that based off of the Medicom info and the pre-order info from both HLJ and BBTS that these are indeed a regular series release and there will be chases as well.
-
WTF... over? ???
I sure would like to know who wrote that article up? Everyplace I see , this collection is sold in a box of 12 & a MC of 48 which puts it in the same boat as a regular series release. Like Jeff mentioned, Medicom lists the individual price for the Kuby's.
Something I did find interesting tho on this site which I just happened opon, the National Console Support, Inc (http://www.shopncsx.com/starwarskubrickbobafettcollection.aspx), this site is listing the ratios as well as in the blog (http://ncsx.blogspot.com/2009/02/star-wars-boba-fett-collection-import.html).
According to the product solicitation from Medicom, the ratio of the figures in each factory case of 4 boxes (48 pieces total) will be as follows:
(1) Boba Fett (Mcquarrie) Ratio: 4/48
(2) Boba Fett (Holiday Special) Ratio: 8/48
(3) Boba Fett (Black & White) Ratio: 12/48
(4) Boba Fett (Droids) Ratio: 8/48
(5) Boba Fett (Vintage Toy) Ratio: 12/48
(6) Boba Fett (Mcquarrie Alternate) Ratio: 4/48
The ratio allocation means that every box of 12 Bobas will only contain one each of the Boba Fett (Mcquarrie) versions, two each of the Holiday and Droids variants, and so on. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2009 at JPY15360 per factory box of 12 figures or US$165.90 from NCS.
It's a US based (New York) site that supplies customers around the world with the latest in Japanese video game software, hardware, and toys.
Clicky the About US (http://www.shopncsx.com/about-us.aspx) linky for more info on the site. Jeff or anyone else, have you ever heard/delt with this place?
-
I looked up a couple feedback links I could find on them and they appear legit. It would be nice to have another cheaper option for these figures (boxes of 12 and MC's) other than BBTS in the US. I've never seen Toy Tokyo or Ningyoushi stock these in anything larger than sets of 6. I took a chance and pre-ordered boxes of 12 of both Series 10 and the BF Collection. Fingers crossed...
-
Hopefully NCSX comes through. Like you mentioned another place in the US that can distribute for a bit cheaper would be nice. $166.00 for the BF & $126.00 for Series 10 is not bad from the other prices we have seen. Keep us posted. :)
-
Here's hoping it really is a box set of 6 or evenly packed 2x per box. It would be nice to track down a full set and not worry about exclusives for a change. Here's some more food for thought - if this were being released as a standard box of 12 individual packs with chaces, why wouldn't they just assign it a series #?
-
Because this is probably a one time deal and the chance of a second series is not going to happen
-
Ya gotta love Kubricks!
CB
-
Definitely NOT a box set. (http://hanshideout.blogspot.com/2009/03/medicom-kubrick-boba-fett-collection.html) ;)

LOL! Nothing like making the writer of that article at SW.com look like a numpty! ;D
-

What? I'm saying why didn't they just say this is Series #12 and here are the 6 boba fett figs associated with series #12. Just seems like that would make more sense if they are going to release this similar to a standard series of figures.
-
Nice work Jeff. "Everyday attention"? Pestering the folks at Medicom, someone is? LOL.

They have done the same thing in the past (most memorable to me is the Oscar and Elmo Kubricks)
-
Oscar and Elmo are good examples. Like Scott said, they were not Sesame Street Series 3 or 4 , they were just "Sesame Street Oscar" or "Sesame Street Elmo", but they were handled just like the previously two SS lines.
I think it's the same thing for Fett. It got a standard Kubrick Series number (No.246), but it isn't called "Star Wars Series 11" because it's not technically SW Series 11 - it's just "Boba Fett Collection".
It may have been less confusing for folks if they had called it SW Series 11, but for whatever reason they chose to keep it separate as it's own thing.
-
Maybe "Series 12" will be a Droids series then ;)
yeah, I know, Clone Wars would make way more sense.

Ive ordered from NCX twice-- both my cases came quick-- one had a Shakk TI , the other a Jar Jar.
I would recommend them-- although the last time I ordered a case was only 124.--- Damn Dollar

Good deal, thanks for the info. As far as the price goes, Series 10 is only $127, so that's only a $3 increase over Series 9, which is actually not that bad. For the BF Collection, I thought the initial price from Medicom was significantly higher than the Series 10 price, so I can understand why that's ringing up $30 more than Series 10. Either way it's still significantly less than what BBTS is charging for their pre-order.
-
Ok so i took a chance and preordered from these new guys. Lets see how it goes.
-
I haven't ordered my own Kubricks in a while but I took a shot at this one and put in an order for the Boba Fett box as well. Crossing my fingers...

-
I preordered from them as well
-
Well, if they do end up having chases with this release, with this many JDer's pre-ordering from them, there's a good chance at least one of us will end up with a chase. Thanks again for posting the info DSJ.
-
I just ordered a box of the Boba Fetts from NCSX in New York. I only want the single set, does anyone else want my duplicates?
-
So I am Sith and I are sitting here at work (really we are working) debating whether or not there will be chases in this series. So what do people think? As best as we can tell there is no indication that we'll get chases. However, when is the last time Medicom ever released a series that didn't have chases at all?? Thoughts?

From an e-mail interaction I had with Medicom back in April:
Me: "Will the Boba Fett Collection have secret/chase figures like the regular Star Wars KUBRICK series have had?"
Medicom: "We can not answer to the question as it will no longer be "secret". It will be another exciting assort. Please look forward to it."
Based on that answer, I am expecting to see chases... maybe not 3, but at least 1-2 of them. There are plenty of ways they could stick with the Fett motif for chase figures...
- Jodo Kast
- Silver Fett
- "Shadow" Fett
- removable helmet Fett
etc etc
-
I am hoping for the prototype boba fett chase, but i woudn't be surprised if we got very random characters from the OT as well. I would love an Amanaman chase.
-
I am hoping for the prototype boba fett chase
I would poop my pants if we got a chase that was the Original "Kit-bashed" Boba Fett Prototype (http://theswca.com/images-conce/proto-fett.html). It would be highly sought after.
-

Yep, thats the one I'm hoping for. ;D
-
That's exactly one of the versions of Fett I thought of when the possibility of chase figures for this series came up.
I'm expecting there will be chases even though it's not a standard series. I'm hoping for only one or two although I doubt I'll get one in the box I ordered. I'm also crossing my figures that, as cool as the regular six figures are, the chase isn't cooler than any of them! :P
It would also be great if the set was even packed in the box (not counting chase figures) but I'm also guessing that we'll see a weighted distribution like normal series boxes have. I've been talking with Joe Kersavage (who some of you guys know) about splitting a box with him. He's definitely first on my list for extras, but I told him if he wants to make sure he gets the set of 6 he may want to put in a pre-order somewhere.

I saw on the NCS site (and maybe it was "confirmed" elsewhere) but the McQuarries are both planned to be packed 1:12. If I had to guess, unfortunately, the chases would be in the 1:12 boxes as well meaning that even if you get a box of 12 with a chase in it, you might still be missing a regular figure too.
-

This ratio has been making the rounds on many of the Japanese sites and NCSX (http://ncsx.blogspot.com/2009/02/star-wars-boba-fett-collection-import.html) as well, so I'm guessing it is probably pretty close:
Boba Fett (Vintage) = 3/12
Boba Fett (Black & White) = 3/12
Boba Fett (Holiday Special) = 2/12
Boba Fett (Droids) = 2/12
Boba Fett (Mcquarrie) = 1/12
Boba Fett (Mcquarrie/Johnston) = 1/12
-
If that breakdown was posted earlier in this thread I missed it, I'd have to go back and look. That's not a terrible mix assuming you don't get a chase in your box. But, on the other hand, I'd rather have to hunt down one of the 1:12 figures rather than a chase figure so that might be an acceptable tradeoff.
Of course, 2 of the coolest figures are 1:12 which I guess isn't a surprise. The Black & While and Droids versions are less important to me but I really like the McQuarrie designs.
E...
-
Obviously late commenting on this, but as soon as the indication came that there weren't two complete sets of six in a box of twelve I was pretty sure chase figures would be present. Jeff's conversations all but confirm that obviously, but I can't see any reason for the odd ratios other than standard operating procedures including chase figs. I'd think there'd be one HK, one Japan at 1/96 each and a common like the other series'. I love the speculations on what they might be and it'll be pretty cool when we know.
-
Chases do sound inevitable, question is will there be more Fett/Mandalorian type characters, more McQuarrie type figures like a McVader or McSnowtrooper or something from Droids like Vlix? What ever they are it should be good. :)
-

Hmmn...how about McQuarrie Luke, Jodo Kast, and Coleman Trebor? :D
-
I have absolutely no interest in the McQuarrie fetts nor the black and white one. I don't know why medicom thought 3 near identical boring white fetts was a good idea.
I'm 50% disappointed with this set. :P
-
Well, I had decided not to, but I just ordered a case. I don't want to take the chance of there being chase figs and not even have a chance of a full set or the chase. Just hope I can get rid of all the extras.

Dunno.
McLuke would be boring and much more difficult in this form than Hasbro's. McVader, if it was a McQuarrie figure, would be the easiest for them with a new helmet and cape.
Jodo of course fits well.
Coleman Trebor? Blech.
Medicom does love their oddities though.
-
Since Robby closed where have you US guys been ordering your cases from? I want to pick up one case, and want to find the cheapest deal I can for them. Does anywhere have them Cheaper than NCSX?
-
HLJ is SOL now, they put an order stop so they would not over sell.
BBTS ($194.99): Star Wars Boba Fett Collection Kubricks (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MED10308&mode=retail)
NCSX ($165.90): Star Wars Kubrick Boba Fett Collection (http://www.shopncsx.com/starwarskubrickbobafettcollection.aspx)
A majority from here went with NCSX as it's closer to home for the US gang. I think I'm the only one that went with HLJ.

Dang. I don't know if I can swing $165 with the Sideshow Vader coming out soon too. I guess these will have to go on my wishlist for awhile.

After the early bird preorder, 15,360 yen so about $157.15 US.
I got in on the EB preorder so for me on the one box, 14,592 yen or about $148.65 US.

Sorry if I missed this, but does anyone know the release date in Japan on these?
I think my friend is waiting to send me these along with Series 10.
CB
-
Everyplace I see online have them listed as a June end release. Tho that could change, will see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
-
Late June is about as specific as it gets. As mentioned in the other thread my friend in Japan hasn't received any word from Medicom that they have shipped or when it will happen.
-
NCSX also told me last week of June when I called the other day. Of course, it's an expected date and these are Kubricks, so could be anytime between now and December. :P
-
I think im waiting and buy thems directly in Yahoo auction japon

Bah!
I might have to torture my friend into sending me Series 10 right quick.

You know the day he ships of S10, those Fetts will appear. :P I'm going to stay the course on my order and hope for the best.

Medicom website still lists 6/30 as the date... which is the day after the Parco show is over (6/22 -2/29).
Like others have said earlier in the thread, if that date is correct, I would not be surprised to see some of these pop up early on eBay thanks to Parco show attendee purchases.
-
I've been doing a lot of pondering on the Boba Fett Collection, the price rise from Medicom and poor exchange rates, and the "lack" of standard chase assortments. It has led me to the conclusion that I'm not all that interested in trying to buy a Master Case for this collection. I don't think I want to take a 1/4 (or perhaps its more like 1/6 or 1/8) chance at pulling a rare chase out of a box of 12. I think I'm going to stick to eBay for this assortment. I'll be happy with a basic set of 6 and perhaps a common chase if they settle into the $35-45 range. The rare chases would have to blow me away for me to spend the kind of scratch I'm thinking it will cost me to go after them.
-
I'll continue buying a single box of a series that I like, but the math just doesn't work out anymore. $250 for two rare chase, $25 for the common chase (after prices settle out) and being generous $50 for a set of six and dropping $500 doesn't make any sense. I still have commons from Series 7 and 8 that I've never unloaded so why bother? If I were in an area say like Minnesota where I could more easily move singles, then yeah, maybe ;)
I think the Fett collection might be one where you could sell (spare) stuff off fairly easily, but even at that, I'll stick to my one box just for the fun and excitement of having a shot at a chase figure. But those odds are low for sure. I've ordered 5 single boxes I think and didn't get a chase until series 9 with the two yellow clones. I know others that have had better luck though, but it is still a crap shoot.
I do still hope for some chase in the Fett collection, even though they'll be pricey if they aren't in my box of 12. They could be quite cool. I believe they'll be there and I'm getting fired up about this especially since I didn't order anything from Series 10.
-
Don't know if this has been posted here or not, but one of the chases is apparently based on an early Kenner figure with a launching missile.

sweet! I wonder if they will make the J slot and L slot variations too? hahaha! that would be pure evil >:D

Nice, a Rocket Fett. 8)

This one has the Yellow & Red Gaunlets like the vintage Fett chase from Series 1 & a different gun seen in the upper pic.

-
Man, those chases are sort of boring... rocket fett is OK I guess, but another chase is the vintage colors on the B&W sculpt? Not that exciting since like Dale pointed out they've already done that one, AND there is a better vintage Kenner paint homage already in the set. Weird...
2 down... 1 to go? Or do you guys think it will be just 2 chases this time?
-
I wonder if the vintage colors Fett isn't the common chase? Kind of a bummer if it is and identical to a previous chase but maybe something else is different enough to make it special (or less special). I'm stilll expecting one more. Hoping maybe is the better word.
-
well, these chases are easy passes for me and I'm happy to not be worried about getting a Box of 12 or Master Case for this set.
-
Neither of these chases are "must haves" for me, but I certainly won't complain if I luck into them. Did I miss any updated news over the weekend on release dates?
-
Did I miss any updated news over the weekend on release dates?
No... the story is the same as it was the other day - early sales at Parco (not uncommon as it has happened previously), then full release as scheduled after the show is over (6/30 is still the date listed on the Medicom store site).
-
I was just getting a better look at the differences on the 2nd chase Fett with the green blaster. From what I can see, the gloves are a light brown instead of the red & white finger tips plus the edging & bottom on the boots are light brown compaired with the black on the vintage Fett. It also looks like the pockects that are painted above the knees are different plus no red line under the belt.
Not sure what differences are on the back till we see more pics.
Ahh the fun of collecting Kuby's, this focus will be the death of me. ;D
-
I of course want the rocket firing chase, probably the rare one.
-
So two chases total? Not three?
CB
-
So two chases total? Not three?
CB
Only two have been uncovered and even those are not confirmed. I'd still bet on a third chase popping up.
-
Boy these chases are a complete let down to me. I'm really disappointed that they re-did the Series 1 chase in this wave. The rocket Fett is a nice nod, but as BrentS pointed out to me today, how is everyone going to display it, backwards :P? I really hope that there is another chase out there...
-
I like the rocket Fett but don't care for the other one that much, it's too subtle. I'd rather have seen them do that vintage proto paint app version from the case insert or even a different Mando character like Jodo Kast or someone (not Jango).
It would have even been cool to see a Bounty Hunter that wasn't in armor, although they've already done some of the obvious ones like Aurra or Zam.

After waffling back and forth on how I was going to handle this series (1x box, 1x MC, or in pieces via eBay), I finally decided to try my luck with a box of 12 at NCSX. Since some of you lucked into chases with S10, it seems like a pretty honest place, so we'll see what happens... :)

The boring (in my opinion) chases have sealed it for me. I'm just going with buying the set individually on eBay (well hopefully a whole set of 6). I hope to get these all for less than $100.

Was in Tokyo over the weekend and bought some boxes of the Fett collection.
Still scratching my head on why one of my McQuarries has the vintage gun?!?

Oooooooooh nice. 8)
Looks like that McQuarries was packed with the wrong weapon. Kinda like Kenner did factory errors back in the day. :D
I see you have both the chases Fett's. That Fett with the green blaster, can you post a pic of the backside so I can see what the difference is from the other Fett's besides seeing the green cape on the right side. I really like to see what the backpack & missle looks like & any other parts.

Nice finds! Did you purposely seek out and pay more for the chases or did you come across these at regular figure prices? Out of curiousity, what does a basic box cost overseas in USD?

These are awesome! I just got back from Japan myself and have a couple of the carded. They are very cool! I have one Chase, the vintage Fett as well! Very excited to get it!
-
Will the chases be carded as well, or will they only be found in the boxes?
-
I guess this is the last chase figure. I'm not a vintage collector, but it reminds me of a "first shot" prototype.

-
Yeah, that's the "L" slot Rocket Fett proto. Nice. I love Medicom's attention to detail.
I'd love either of the Rocket Fett chase figures. It'll be interesting to see the box ratios on these or what the eBay prices settle out to.

-
Awesome. :)
-
They are in tune to the vintage stuff, i would have prefered the other prototype as the chase though.

That is a Rocket Firing Boba Fett (L-Slot Version) First Shot (http://theswca.com/images-unpro/rocketfett-lslot.html)
(http://theswca.com/images-unpro/rocketfett-lslot-front.jpg) (http://theswca.com/images-unpro/rocketfett-lslot-back.jpg)
Jesus, these Kuby's are really going to be the death of me. :-\
-
OK, so let's see... the current info we have says:
Boba Fett (Vintage Toy) = 3:12
Boba Fett (Black & White) = 3:12
Boba Fett (Holiday Special) = 2:12
Boba Fett (Droids) = 2:12
Boba Fett (Mcquarrie) = 1:12
Boba Fett (Mcquarrie/Johnston) = 1:12
Boba Fett (J-Slot Rocket Fett) = ?:96 {found in the Vintage Toy Fett box}
Boba Fett (L-Slot Rocket Prototype) = ?:96 {found in the Vintage Toy Fett box}
Boba Fett (Vintage Colors) = ?:96 {found in the Black & White Fett box}
So, if the case ratios that have been reported are accurate, it looks the three chases are being found in boxes for 3:12 ratio figures. That should mean that none of the figures end up short-shipped in a Master Case (ie no chases in a 1:12 box).
Now we just have to wait for the mega-sellers to start grinding out listings so we can confirm which are the 1:96 chases and which are the "easy" chases.

That's great news for those that want to get a box of 12.
These chases are the easiest passes for me yet. (Edit: Oops, didn't click the link above to realize the chase was all one color like the prototype. That's kind of cool but likely still a pass for me).
Out of curiousity, for those that will track them down, how are you going to display them? The only difference in the L and J rockets are the backs of the figures. Are you going to display them backwards??
-
I still think that these chases are kind of boring, but I like the L-Slot Fett better than the others. Seriously considering cancelling my box of 12 order from NCS and just getting the basic set. But there's always the possibility of pulling a chase... I guess I still have a few days to decide...
-
Yeah, to be honest the chases do nothing for me. I may try and get a set of 6 at some point, but there's no way I'm getting even a box of 12.
-
The cost per box of 12 helped make up my mind. I hit a buy it now of $133 for the carded set, and with shipping it should be about the same price or a little less than a box. I miss the chance at the chases, but I think I'm ok with that (for now....).
-
Out of curiousity, for those that will track them down, how are you going to display them? The only difference in the L and J rockets are the backs of the figures. Are you going to display them backwards??
Actually the L-slot chase has no coloration (solid blue) so I'll be displaying mine normally (if I get on) as for the J-slot version, I'll be showing the back.
-
I'm in for the new chase as well. The only chase I'm iffy on is the vintage colors version. I gotta think that's the 3/48 version, so if it drops to the usual price range for those, I'll still pick it up given the gun is different. I'll be ecstatic if I score one of the rare chase figures in my box :o

Yep, I realized that after I posted that the L-slot Chase is solid blue. I could see displaying that one like normal. I just can't get excited about the other two chases.
-
I'm still psyched for this set and called NCS again today to check on status. They are still on track to ship out within the next two weeks apparently, so shouldn't be too much longer...
-
Blister has these in stock now in Japan and is shipping. I know that doesn't mean anything directly to any of us, but you should start seeing more chase pieces showing up on the bay soon enough.
-
Yep, should be interesting to see what these chase figs will go for on the bay. Dale grabs hammer & looks a piggy bank. :D
-
Yeah, likewise. I'll apply my usual patience though - nothing until I see what I get in my box (crosses fingers and toes) and then I'll wait longer for prices to drop. 1/96 chase pieces mean $100-110 to me before shipping, so that's what I'll have to deal with. I'm happy I didn't chase the prequel 1/96 stuff though.
Oh yeah. I'll trade Yak Face for the L or J slot Fett, providing they are the 1/96 chase pieces (man I'd be happy if one of them was the 3/48).
-
(man I'd be happy if one of them was the 3/48).
Since the J-Slot and L-Slot figures come from the same box, I'm hoping the ratio turns out to be something similar to what the Stormtrooper Han/Luke chase figures were, where they actually ended up being closer to 1:48 by the time it was all said and done. :)
-
Ooh, I really like that suggestion. I really very much enjoy Medicom's attention to vintage detail as much as anything else.
I'm probably looking at not seeing my box of figures for about two weeks though. It should go out today in Japan and then when it arrives there it will be re-routed to me. The wait is killing me especially after seeing the chase figures.
-

This is what I'm hoping for also, hopefully they will end up at 1:48 prices + "Boba Fett" tax ;)

I might take you up on this if I end up with one of them. The L slot Fett is more appealing to me only because it looks different than the J slot version, but neither one is a must have for me. Yak on the other hand would definitely be in my wheelhouse for a trade. I'll keep you posted.

News secret
Boba Fett prototype rocket in grey, so cool
(http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4487/blogtopkubbobaseries.jpg)
-
It was posted a page back, 3 chases for this collection. ;)
-
The paint scheme on the B&W repaint is actually kind of nice. Honestly, I'd be happy to pull any of the three chases out of the box that I bought but I may actually go after the two Rocket Fetts if the prices aren't completely outrageous.
E...
-
I was just checking ebay and the individual boxed figures and sets of 6 are starting to hit. Seems like the prices are way up, but this may be only due to the fact that this is the first seller that I've seen list them ($100-$110 + shipping for sets of 6 and $30 BIN + shipping for individuals)... No chases that I've seen yet
-
Ratios from Instinctoy:
11:48 "Vintage Toy" Fett
10:48 "Black & White" Fett
08:48 "Droids" Fett
08:48 "Holiday Special" Fett
04:48 "McQuarrie/Johnston" Fett
04:48 "McQuarrie" Fett
02:48 "Prototype/Vintage Color" Fett {found in the "Black & White Toy" Fett box}
01:96 "L=Slot Prototype" Fett {found in the "Vintage Toy" Fett box}
He doesn't say anything on the J-Slot chase, but based on the fact that the L-Slot is 1:96 and the regular Vintage Toy version is 11:48, it stands to reason that J-Slot is also 1:96:
01:96 "J-Slot Rocket" Fett {found in the "Vintage Toy" Fett box}
So yeah... both Rocket Fetts appear to be 1:96 ratio it looks like. Poop. :(
-
Well, it was too much to hope that the better of the chases would be anything less than 1:96. I still would love to get one or the other of the Rocket Fetts.
E...
-
Thanks for the ratios Jeff. I can't remember why I keep thinking the "common" chase should be 3/48. I looked over the checklist and that number comes up only once, with 2/48 being the more common.
Is there a HK/Japan split again with the 1/96 stuff?
Man, I'm looking forward to seeing these in person. Skipping series 10 has lengthened the drought considerably.
-
I canceled the case I had on order, had to pay for other things. I did win the carded Boba Fett Collection off e-bay for $155.46 shipped. So, I at least got a what I wanted more out of the set so far.
-
:o :o

*edit*
The original price was close to $2000 USD but they seem to have fixed it lol
-
I just finished completing one full set of 9 figures by winning an unpainted rocket Fett on YJA for 19,500 Yen- which by the way I think is a steal for a 1/96 chase in this set. I cannot believe how expensive this series was to complete. These definitely aren't your father's Star Wars kubricks. I would not be surprised to see prices for sets, unopened boxes, and chases to settle at over twice the cost of prices we've seen in the past. Seriously, what a pain in the ass.
I was talking with another boardmember whom I hooked up with a basic set of 6 plus one chase yesterday and thought I'd relay my impressions of this whole fiasco here:
1.) First, for some reason Medicom more than doubled the wholesale price per box of 12 on this release.
2.) Second, Robby. jp (the wholesale company that most non-Japanese collectors used in the past) has gone out of business.
3.) Next, though the Project 1/6 store (the Medicom flagship) still has scores of every figure from series 10 for sale, two of the six figures from the Fett collection were sold out in two days (Both Mcquarries 1/12 ratio). The release seems to be very popular in Japan and overall feels really small compared to others in the past! (Though the chases seem to be packed completely randomly in the Master Cases this time which is a nice change of pace.)
4.) And finally, the Yen is so strong versus the dollar right now- 95Y:1$ versus 114Y:1$ on the previous OT set releases (series1-7).
I paid over 15 US bucks per figure at the Parco show in Tokyo, and over 500 US bucks total to secure just 2 total regular sets, and 4 total chases (2 Vintage and 2 J-slot rockets). And this was after I found out which character boxes had the chases! For a complete set in the past, I could purchase two master cases (equal to 8 boxes of 12 figures) for around 500 bucks total (or 62 bucks per box of 12 after shipping) from Robby and have a complete set (including 2 of the 1/96 chases) with extra basic sets to spare to help recoup most of my cash. Now it would cost me over 1200 bucks to do the same thing.
Unbelievable!
-
Just quoting posts from the Recent Acquisitions thread so everyone can see this.
kenji over at RS posted this pic. The backpack is different, I am guessing that this is the rear of the "Prototype/Vintage Color" Fett with the green gun as we have seen the backs of the other Fett's.
Quite an interesting color scheme.
Weird. Where did this color scheme come from? I think for a little more variety, they should have had a chase use the Vintage 12" Fett color scheme.
I just took a pic of the backpack on my 12" vinty Fett.

In reviewing the prototype Fett costume pics from my Star Wars Chronicles, the back of the helmet is in fact a different color than the rest it so cheers to Medicom's attention to detail once again.
-
Cheers to Stealthtank for the set, its very much appreciated. If anyone has (by some freak chance :o ??? ;D) any spare of either rocket (j slot) Fett chase they want to trade or sell could you give me a shout. ;)
I would be most greatful
(apologies if this is in the wrong area) :-\

I don't have the Star Wars Chronicles, any chance of posting a pic from the book? Would be nice to figure out what this Fett is & give it a name. :)

Got an email from my buddy in Japan that he has my box of 12 in hand now. So I'll see them in a while, but for the sake of everyone else here, the price he paid for a delivered box of 12 is $144 USD after conversion. He'll ship them fairly, so I'm probably looking at $160-165 total cost for my box of 12 making the NCSX price pretty palatable. I'm getting my box as cheaply and directly as possible.
As Scott mentioned above this series is quite a bit more expensive, as had been noted much earlier in the thread as well.
EDIT: EMS shipping for the box is $21 so my total cost on this box will be $165. Aside from living in Japan and picking up a box at a store, that's about as low as it gets, so the NCSX price looks pretty good.
-
Here are the photos from the SW Chronicles. As you can see, the chase Fett is based on the prototype of the costume, complete with the two tone, jaig eye helmet and the first design of the bantha skull emblem. Click to embiggen...

Well looky at that, that helmet is bang on as with the backpack! We have a winner, the " Prototype Costume Fett" chase. Thanks Jayson. :)
cheers to Medicom's attention to detail once again.
Indeed. I wonder who does all the Kuby stuff, the main guy? (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/konfus/a014.gif)
-
I'm glad I'm not a completist, because if I was, a wave like this would make me seriously question what I was doing :)
-
As I have no interest in the chases or the McQuarrie and B&W fetts I only need the vintage on card to complete this series for me.
-
I just checked HLJ & the Fett Collection is showing discontinued. My order for a box of 12 is being processed & I should get an e-mail from them soon that they have shippind. I'm guessing I should have them within 2-3 weeks. For those who ordered from NCSX, hopefully you hear something soon.
-
It will probably come while I'm away next week.
-
My box of 12 has shipped. 8)
So let's see, 14,592 yen or about $152.93 US for the box & 2,040 yen for shipping or about $21.38 US so roughly the total is $174.36 US.
-
My box of 12 has shipped. 8)
Good luck Dale!

For the two variants with rockets and slots, do we know yet if they are actually working firing rockets; i.e., do they have internal springs, separate rocket parts, and the tabs work to launch the rocket, or, are they all one solid piece and are just sculpted to look like that?
-
Judging by this photo, I'd say they're both non-working and there is not an actual channel or spring:
-
Did everyone else think/know these were sculpts only, or thought they were actual working rockets? I sure thought they were functional when I first saw the pics. But if they aren't, that's probably better, since there won't be a separate rocket part to lose.
-
For those who ordered from NCSX, hopefully you hear something soon.
I called NCS this afternoon and they said that they are hoping to fulfill pre-orders by the end of the week. Fingers crossed...
-
Did everyone else think/know these were sculpts only, or thought they were actual working rockets?
Like you, I thought/hoped that these were actual working projectiles. That would have been a cool feature that we haven't seen on a Kubrick yet. However, I agree that a piece that small would have been easily lost...
-
In one of the earlier photos that popped up I noticed that it didn't look like there was an actual slot in the back of the pack but was hoping maybe the release would just be a push button and not actually slide up and down the slot.
Whether you can launch the rocket or not, I still think it's cool that they're paying homage to those protos.

My box was shipped out today by EMS so it could be here by the end of the week, though I really doubt it. Probably next week sometime. Indy.......Indy.......Indy........Indy......... :-X

I caved and reordered my box from NCSX, and it was $173 shipped. I just had to get some boxes to open, even if I did order the carded set. :)

Thanks for the update efranks! I'll have to check my e-mail as well and see if I received confirmation.
-
It looks like NCSX may be the new, best option for Kubs. Price differential from Medicom direct after all the shipping costs was only $10 less than NCSX and arrival time appears to be approximately the same.
I didn't get a series 10 box from my buddy in Japan, so can't compare that way, but for the Fetts, the difference was pretty minimal.
-
Just waiting to hear back from my friend in Japan...

Got my confirmation as well, here's hoping for quick shipping!
-
Great, I can't get into my e-mail account to confirm if I received my notice or not >:( I really hope that they are fulfilling my order with everyone else's.
-
I got my confirmation from NCSX as well. I hope it gets here before I leave for vacation July 5th.

I finally heard back from NCS this morning. My box ships today! If the shipping takes as long as it did with Series 10, I will get it early next week.
-
Mine is on the way, no estimate from UPS yet. My guess I will get to open them when I get back from vacation.
-
I got my shipping notice from NCSX too... est delivery date = Mon (7/6). :)

My guy is supposed to get his Kubricks later this week (pending the holiday). I'm just ordering a set of 6 for now but I should be able to get them late next week I'd guess.

UPS updated the shipping information. Expected delivery is Monday. I'm jealous of you guys on the East Coast that will be getting your boxes Friday.

You think you're jealous? My box is coming from Medicom in Japan and I'll probably still get it after yours. Ouch. It was at the Tokyo airport on Tuesday afternoon, but I can't see it getting here by Friday, so next week it will be and that's only if it doesn't get hung up in customs. ::)

Yep, mine is still in Tokyo. Gonna be next week, maybe.

Just checked again. It's in Canada. In Customs. :'(

Great, it should be released by them by mid next week. Hopefully no duty, so far I'm doing good with that. ;D

Supposedly my box of 12 is going to come tomorrow. I work at 2:30 so it would be nice if it got here before then.

Got my box from NCS today,, sadly no chase figures. So if anyone is interested in trading I have an extra Gree and would happily trade it for the extra common chase fett.

No such luck for me. EMS hasn't updated lately and doesn't seem to until later in the day from what I've seen with my stuff. Quiet weekend for me I think.

SCOOOOORRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEE ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D So far I got the all light blue prototype chase!!!!! Still opening.

ok cool . thats what I ended up with from 1 case from NCS. I'm very happy now. I think that will be the hardest one to get. Agree?
-
I've seen more of that all gray/blue variant than I have of the colored one with the rocket. I think the colored/rocket one may be harder to get, although to me it's the less desirable of the two, since it looks identical to the regular version from the front.

My case of 12 just arrived a short time ago. Sigh! :'(

Congrats bigj!!
My case of 12 just arrived a short time ago. Sigh! :'(
Does that mean you are chaseless?

Ahh yeah. :'(

thanks ;D 1 down, 2 to go
yeah ur probably right. they both have the same ration so I guess either one could be considered . I am glad I got this one instead because , like you said, the other is identical other than the back. If anyone needs a common Fett, let me know.

Just got my case and no chases. :(
My case looked like the following:
Holiday | Holiday | McQ/Johnston |
B&W | B&W | B&W |
Droids | Droids | McQ |
Kenner | Kenner | Kenner |
So, looking back at the earlier ratios, I think I got an extra B&W and short one Kenner version my box was right on for no chases. When I opened the box I was hoping for the B&W chase since there was an extra but no dice. I still wanted a chase! :P
So, I'll have some extras for sale/trade later on. Also, if anyone has the all blue L-slot Rocket Fett for sale LMK, I may be in the market.

Got my case from Case of 12 from NCS. Pulled the L rockett fett! So excited!
-
Well, with our newest member, we now have the following breakdown:
evenflow - no chases
bigj22 - L-Slot chase
efranks - no chases
I Am Sith - ?
Jeff - ?
Dan - ?
Outcast34 - ?
chap - L-Slot chase
Not liking my chances for a rare chase this time around, but I'd be psyched to get two commons...
-
I've seen more of that all gray/blue variant than I have of the colored one with the rocket. I think the colored/rocket one may be harder to get, although to me it's the less desirable of the two, since it looks identical to the regular version from the front.
I agree!
I'd rather the colorless one.
Nice job!

I actually think the commons for these look great as well. Good luck to you guys who haven't gotten / opened your box yet!
-
I went with a set of 6 on these. The chase figures pretty much look similar to the chases I already have with the exception of the blue proto. I think I bought from the same guy you have been buying from BrentS, seems pretty reasonable.
-
Just got home from work and opened up my box right away. Sadly no chases :-\
I will be in the market eventually for both of the rare chases but not at the prices they are at now. I bought the common chase of ebay tonight.
-
That sucks Outkast. Good luck with the chase hunt as I know you're going to be tracking these down based on your previous purchases...

I just checked the UPS site and my box has been stuck in the Hodgkins, IL distribution facility since 5:30 this morning...
-
Thanks I Am Sith. I'm going to need luck. It might be awhile before I complete this set.
-
No chase for me either :'( My box came direct from Medicom, so I'm starting up a conspiracy theory that a certain ebay seller works for them ;)
-
Bummer on the no chases guys, it's a crap shoot on a single case let alone a MC. Really sad the prices have gone up on Kuby's, a MC on these was way too much & having those extra Fett's if you did, oy! I think this is one of the hardest series to complete & the secondary market is making it real tuff on chases now. Sigh! :-\
Congrats to those on chases so far. :)
-
Really sad the prices have gone up on Kuby's, & the secondary market is making it real tuff on chases now. Sigh! :-\
DA Toys has had 5 J-Slot chases sell for $250 a piece already. About the same number of prototype costume Fetts for $55 each. These prices are insane.
-
My set of 6 will ship on Monday. I should have by Wednesday or Thursday I think.

there was an L-slot that sold for 313.00 . ::) wow

That's the only one I see at that price & it's not a complete set. A complete set is 9.

thats still a good deal considering the L- slot sold for 313.00 and the basic 6 for 90.00 and the other chase for 55.00, so I think its still a good deal for you.

Yep, still a good deal. Like mentioned above a basic set is $90 & the prototype/vintage costume color chase is around $55., that gives you the blue chase a cost of $159.
This (http://cgi.ebay.com/Medicom-Star-Wars-Boba-Fett-Kubrick-Full-Set-8pcs-NEW_W0QQitemZ280365082104QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item41470fa5f8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A13%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A2%7C294%3A50) 8 piece set went awhile back for $200.
The blue Fett's average from $209.99 to $237.03 to $313.58 that have been sold. The $299.99, $400. (changed to $320.) & $450. Fett's are sitting.

Prices on Yahoo Japan Auctions are not much better. The most recent J-Slot Chase sold for 37500 Yen, which is over 400 bucks US.
http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d94833620
My thoughts are that most of the J-slot Chase Master Cases were those released at the Parco Event (where I snagged 2 of them), hence the fewer numbers in shipped cases.

$400. Oy! Datoys is making a killing on his for $249.99, 7 sold & another one listed. One hell of an order on MC's me thinks.
-
I refuse to get overly excited by those prices. These have, for the most part, only hit within the last week. So it's the early crazy folk that are dropping huge coin on these (I think the $299 for 8 is a fair deal) chase pieces. DO I think they'll settle out at higher prices, based on ratio, than the usual series'? Absolutely, because it's Fett and because they are vintage nods; that pulls in non-Kubrick collectors as well. But I think the J- and L-slot will settle out around $150 or so and the common around $50. Those prices are higher than the general prices for the 1/96 and 2/48 prices generally level off at.
Don't get me wrong, I darn near pulled the trigger on common last night at $54 before talking myself down. I want all of these but patience must be applied. $400 for a chase Fett? Bite me. ;)
-
i hope no pay this for a variant

My case from NCSX will arive tomorrow at my office. I will know by 12PM CST what I have and I will post what I get after I open it at lunch.

Here's hoping - I am really hoping on getting either a "J" or "L" hook so then I only have to go after 1 more variant. Don't need both "J" or "L" hooks.

Well, here's a fun story for Kubie fans...
For anyone not following along, I ordered 2x Series 10 boxes and 2x Fett Series Boxes from NCS for about $600 (one box of each for me and one box of each for Jay). I've called numerous times to figure out when they will ship and all signs pointed to last week. Of course, I went on vacation at a cabin up North with no internet access all week.
Anyway, I'm driving home on Saturday and go to pay for gas, only to find my Citibank card won't work. I immediately thought about my Kubie order, so I called citibank to see what was up. Sure enough, because the order was over $500 for an internet order, Citibank refused payment to NCS AND put a hold on the card. ARGH!
On the bright side, I was able to authorize future payments with NCS. I also resubmitted payment info to NCS on Saturday and got an email on Sunday that it was approved, so hopefully my order shipped out today. I thought for sure this was going to end up with my order being cancelled.

grats on the 2 chases. I certainly dont want to tell anyone on how to sell their Kubs, but you may want to consider selling them a little cheaper. Those 3 listed are all over Ebay and are barely selling for 9.00 each. Just an opinion.

Understandable - I have debated selling lower, but I would like to get what I have into them back. I am willing to haggle.

I got the common Chase.
Congrats on getting a chase Ryan! That's a nice score for ordering just one box. Did you just get one common chase in the box?
Jay - if there are two common chase in either of our boxes, do you want to split same as Series 10?

Of course.

Congrats on the chases guys. Part of me wishes I would have taken a chance on getting a chase just from the thrill of opening. However, in the end, the finances are what they are and I didn't want to take an $80 risk to get a chase. I'm perfectly happy getting my set of 6 for now. I should have them by Wednesday I think.

Those of us with six extra pieces to sell for less than cost think you made the correct choice ;)

There were 2 to my box. Right now I am sitting on the 2nd chase as I would ideally like to just trade it up with somone that got "J" hook that doesn't want it. I am not holding my breath on that, but one can hope!
-
Not liking my chances for a rare chase this time around, but I'd be psyched to get two commons...
Well, I opened my box when I got home and ended up with no chases. Can't complain though since I was lucky enough to get the 4-Arm Grievous from Series 10.
So based on what some people reported today, here's the latest:
evenflow - no chases
bigj22 - L-Slot chase
efranks - no chases
I Am Sith - no chases
Jeff - ?
Dan - ?
Outkast34 - no chases
chap - L-Slot chase
knashdx - common chases
Jayson - ?
JediJman - ?
I think that there is still a box with a rare chase floating around as well as two more boxes with common chases.
Jayson and JediJman, if you guys end up getting two boxes with common chases and have extras, I'll definitely take one off your hands if I haven't gone the ebay route by then...
-
The bummer-age continues. I have a Yakface for trade for a J- or L-slot if anyone is interested. Was really hoping Sith would get it, but it's back up for grabs now.
-
My boxes (yes, plural - boxes ::)) arrived today from NCSX.
Even after I placed my order with NCSX, I kept waffling back and forth on what to do with this series. Last week, my Kubrick gene forced me to play the odds and add a second box to my NCSX order before they shipped. After all, 50% chance at chases is better than 25% chance, right? :P
Anyway, we cracked the two boxes open tonight and...
First box = Prototype Blue L-Slot Rocket Fett! Yay me! 8)
Second box = 2x "Prototype Costume" Fett chase!
Buying two boxes turned out to be a very good move. :D
Now that I'm 8/9th of the way done, I've got no excuse not to try to track down a J-Slot Fett to go with them... ;)
-
Awesome, that's a hell of a pull you got there with your boxes. I'd definitely go after that J-Slot too.
-
Got my shipping notice and tracking from NCS today. Boxes should be here Thursday. ;D
Congrats on the chases Jeff - that is exactly what I would hope for with two boxes of this set. If you or Ryan are interested in selling off or trading your extra common chases, let me know what you want for them!
-
Congratulations Jeff! :)

Wow, congrats on the scores, guys!
My L-slot is shipping from Japan today so I could be complete on this set by the weekend.
I will be sure to post pics of the Kubrick Fett family reunion! :)

Incidentally, I am working on becoming a verified Medicom reseller through our new toy store in St. Petersburg, Florida.
So, if everything goes as planned I will let you all know. I'm having to let much of my mighty collection go this week to help fund the venture, so those looking for some crazy scores
know where to look.
-
Jeff that is an awesome score and just goes to show how buying a single case or 2 can still reap rewards ;)
I'm having to let much of my mighty collection go this week to help fund the venture, so those looking for some crazy scores know where to look.
If it's you who has just listed a load of loose kubs I'd just like to say you made me cry :( I want loads of them but won't get them due to other pesky buyers :( :P
-
Awesome score Jeff. That definitely makes up for your chaseless boxes in S10. Glad NCSX worked out for you Jeff.
Want to trade a proto costume fett for a S10 clone trooper ;D ?
-
Jeff - nice score on the "L" hook. Are you buying a lottery ticket?
I decided that I am going to keep one of my extra Vintage Fett's and bring it to work. That leaves me with 3 extras to do something with.
1x Vintavge
1x Droids
1x Holiday

Wow Jeff, Congrats!
My duaghter's and I will be doing the kubrick shuffle tonight. I'll let you know what we find in my lone box...

My friend just sent me a pic...no secret in the box.
So I'll be getting a basic set of six sometime next week.
I'm still happy, love these bricks.
I'll get that proto someday...

Got my set plus the common chase in this week. I think they look really good. I've also got the all gray chase coming in a few weeks, but wanted to post a pic of the first 7 in their shiny cases. =)
-
they look great. Do you happen to have any cases left or know where to find them at?
-
No, unfortunately, they appear to be sold out everywhere still. I think Medicom manufactures these in waves, though. Last time I needed some, they were also not available, then later, stores started getting them again, so I bought big at the time, though I'm running out again. Feast or famine, it seems. But I have hope they'll become available again in the future. I sure hope so, since I keep buying kubs. :)
-
bummer, thanks for the info though

I just found some info you might find useful. Email coming your way.

cool, might have to track that one down. Thanks!

Hello to you all. I will introduce myself formally another day but I need to ask a question . I have the carded set of these & have just recently received 8 of the 9 'boxed' versions (ebay). Whilst photographing them I was comparing 'loose' with 'carded' because they are exactly the same ...right?
Wrong! My 'loose' version of 'Johnson & McQuarrie' has a 'patch pocket' on each of his front thighs whilst the carded has just one on his left thigh. The picture on the box & the card shows only one pocket. This figure is still sealed in its kubrick cellophane & my question is..........."Is mine the only one, have I gone nuts or am I missing some info ? " ::) If I could suss out how to post the picture I 'll do so later if there is any interest. Thanks bhm.
-
Maybe double check what you're looking at.
The Johnston/McQuarrie (http://blog-imgs-41.fc2.com/i/n/s/instinctoy/boba-colle-kub-22.jpg) Fett shouldn't have pockets at all.
The McQuarrie Fett (http://blog-imgs-41.fc2.com/i/n/s/instinctoy/boba-colle-kub-27.jpg) should have 1 pocket on the left thigh.
And the Prototype "B&W" Fett (http://blog-imgs-41.fc2.com/i/n/s/instinctoy/boba-colle-kub-07.jpg) has 2 pockets.
EDIT: You might be on to something. Looking at Dale's Carded Set (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=19241.msg432770#msg432770), it looks like the Johnston/McQuarrie, uses the legs from the McQuarrie version, making the carded Johnston/McQuarrie a unique version. I wonder if there are other deco difference with the others for indentification purposes? ???
-
OK, WTF... over! I didn't even notice that!
That pic of the McQuarrie/Johnston has no leg pockets as shown on Instinctoy (http://instinctoy.blog73.fc2.com/blog-entry-666.html#more) & even in a baggie!
As Jayson mentioned, my carded set does have the 1 pocket on the McQuarrie/Johnston as well as my loose one.
Sir Real's has the same 1 pocket as my loose & carded one.
Can everyone that has the McQuarrie/Johnston Fett check the pocket/s on the legs & let us know what you have? Does anyone have one without the pockets or any other variation?
Late edit: As posted by StealthTank awhile back, he got a McQuarrie packed in with a vintage blaster that I think was a factory error in the packing. So remembering that, I think that the pocket variation on the legs maybe a factory assembly error. Pick a part & away it goes.
Still scratching my head on why one of my McQuarries has the vintage gun?!?

Well, Jay couldn't make it Friday and I lost my will power after a few brews, so I opened up my S10 and Fetts last night. I'll hold off on reporting what I pulled until our meeting on Wednesday. I'm much more impressed with both sets after seeing them in person, especially the fetts (though why we have three different white versions I have no idea).

OK...super Geek question...
if you were going to put the Boba Kubes in chronological order what would they be?
Did the Kenner figure come after the Holiday special? etc

That's a pretty tough question, since they're all from such different source material. I guess I go would withthis:
1.) McQ Fett concept silly mask
2.) McQ Fett concept T-visor
These were the first two versions of the character's development.
3.) Holiday Special (aired 1978)
4.) Black and White prototype armor (screen tested for ESB)
5.) Vintage Toy (based on the color scheme decided upon for the movies, which sould have followed the prototype)
6.) Droids version
Droids technically takes place before ANH I believe, so you could argue for this one to move up the list based on chronology of events. That said, the show wasn't created until the mid 80's, so that design for Fett was really the last of them.
For the chases, I guess I would put the J and L slot versions right before the Vintage Toy version and the more common chase right after him.

I appreciate the reply!
This sounds about right to me.

if you were going to put the Boba Kubes in chronological order what would they be?
3.) Holiday Special (aired 1978)
4.) Black and White prototype armor (screen tested for ESB)
I'd switch the list a bit... According to info from SW.com:
1. McQuarrie concept - original concept for Fett
2. McQ/Johnston Concept Fett - refined concept drawing to add the final helmet and armor
3. Black & White Prototype Fett (from a screen test shot on June 28, 1978 (http://www.starwars.com/episode-v/bts/article/f20061019/index.html?page=2)).
4. "Color Prototype" Fett Chase (Fett first appeared at a California parade on September 24, 1978 (http://www.starwars.com/episode-v/bts/article/f20061019/index.html) and made mall appearances the rest of that Fall '78)
5. "Holiday Special" Fett (aired on November 17, 1978)
6. "L-Slot" Rocket Fett (1979)
7. "J-Slot Rocket Fett (1979)
8. "Vintage Toy" Rocket Fett (1979)
9. "Droids" Boba Fett (1985)
-
I just didn't want to put all the B/W ones side by side, so I alternate them with the color ones.
-
And what do we do with the different droid's versions- Did one come sooner than the other? What about two red gauntlets? And how long will it be before we get a 1/2 circle fett from Medicom? ;)
I just lined mine up in the order I opened them, then added the loose droids fett that had been carded, and the 2 red gauntlet fett on either end.
Just an FYI, I used a clear display case from a model car and it holds my 9 Fetts perfectly. I love how they look together, and it highlights them from the rest of the bricks.
-
The question about order brings up, again, the fact that 3 white Fett figures in this series was maybe one too many. I can see doing the two McQuarrie versions because the helmets are so radically different, but the B&W figure seems like a wasted opportunity to me.
They could have done the kit-bashed Fett (http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=48893) which, while similar to the Kenner figure, is still just enough different that it would have stood out better than the B&W figure. The final concept kit-bash (http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=48894) does have a rather different paint scheme on the helmet and gauntlets from the Kenner figure.
Still, over all, I'm happy with this set for the most part. Still wish I could have scored tht L-Slot chase, though.

Those are good suggestions, but I like the White Prototype Fett better than these. The three whiteys do seem excessive - ideally we could have had one McQuarrie Fett and they could have just included two heads since the rest of the body is the same. Oh well, pretty nice series regardless.

Two way to do it:
First I'd go with Jeff's list then throw in all the previous Kubricks last(being that they would be the "Kubrick" mold of Fett 'even the Droids Carded is based on that mold'):
1. McQuarrie concept - original concept for Fett
2. McQ/Johnston Concept Fett - refined concept drawing to add the final helmet and armor
3. Black & White Prototype Fett (from a screen test shot on June 28, 1978).
4. "Color Prototype" Fett Chase (Fett first appeared at a California parade on September 24, 1978 and made mall appearances the rest of that Fall '78)

7. "J-Slot Rocket Fett (1979)
8. "Vintage Toy" Rocket Fett (1979)
9. "Droids" Boba Fett (1985)
10. Jango (just for kicks)
11. Series one ESB
12. Series one ROTJ
13. Series one Vintage colors
14. Droids Carded (open him!)
OR Second:
1. McQuarrie concept - original concept for Fett
2. McQ/Johnston Concept Fett - refined concept drawing to add the final helmet and armor
3. Black & White Prototype Fett (from a screen test shot on June 28, 1978).

6. "L-Slot" Rocket Fett (1979)
7. "J-Slot Rocket Fett (1979)
8. "Vintage Toy" Rocket Fett (1979)
9. Series one Vintage colors
10. Series one ESB
11. Series one ROTJ
12. "Droids" Boba Fett (1985)
13. Droids Carded (open him!)
14. Jango for Kicks
Now I want ALL the chases.

Just looking at the J-slot chase Fett and I'm not sure that a different slot on the back is worth $150+ to me. That's what my post was in the scam thread, I mistook a real J slot for the regular. While that's embarassing, I pretty much convinced myself on that basis alone I don't need the J-slot. So probably only going after the proto and the L-slot. If these ever settle down in price to more normal pricing I'd go for the J.
-
Yeah, the J-Slot really isn't all that different so I'm willing to be a bit more patient. I've got the L-Slot and the Color Prototype chases, that will tide me over until I can rebuild the war chest and try to chase a few other things down...
-
So, does anyone have all 14 Boba Fett figures yet? I don't have the J-slot but my all-gray chase is coming in about a week and I'll snap a pic of the 13 then.
-
All this patch/no patch stuff sounds like errors to me...
Of course that is absolutely what I have ......no more than a factory error of the McQ/Johnston Boba Fett ::) You'll hopefully excuse my question asked in the previous post but I was pretty confused there for a minute. The McQ/J Boba Fett seems to be a rarity (singly & loose) on ebay & it is pretty ironic that I now have to search for a normal 'normal' when I've secured all the chases :-[

-
Me counts 25 unless I missed some.
Yikes. Forgot about the others... Looks like I'm down about 13 Fetts...
-
If you're not obsessed about keeping them prisoner, then the numbers are considerably less. I have a hard time parting with additional hundreds of $$$ for a figure I already own. I just wish I'd known the eventual carded Fett from the bounty hunter set was one of the original chase versions; could have saved some moolah there too.
That's just a really frightening number to get 'all' of them :o
-
Yeah, with 8 of them being repeats, the unique number of Fetts drops down to 17. That's still a lot of Fetts though...
-
Yeah, I wasn't counting 400%s, carded repeats, or Jangos.
My count:
- series 1: 3
- Fett series: 9
- carded droids: 1
- young Boba from the 2-pack: 1 I thought I'd fool some folks with sneaking that one into the count unnamed, but apparently not. :)
= 14
Are there other unique 100% Boba Fett figures not in the above list? I thought all the carded ones except for the Droids version, were repeats/repacks. No?
-
Are there other unique 100% Boba Fett figures not in the above list? I thought all the carded ones except for the Droids version, were repeats/repacks. No?
You're right, without repeats and 400% figures, there are 14 unique figures.
-
I just had a momentary panic episode as I was thinking about the carded Droids Fett and now a regular release of the Droids Fett. Rushed downstairs to see if I had left the carded version on the card - nope :o Figured I'd screwed myself but it turns out there are lots of differences in the two versions, so all was good. Whew.
-
I am Sith and I have a raging argument over the carded Kubricks. I have not yet succumbed to opening the two carded figures that I have. However, since I don't have any plans to collect/display the carded figures I really think its only a matter time. No chasing carded figures saves me a lot of $$ right now.
-
Which two are those?
For me, I had a ton of carded figures I was saving/not opening, including the Batman movie series, All the SW stuff, Kinnikuman, and several odd ones like a Japanese soccer player and singer. I had all my others in cases, and every time I looked at my case display, I missed seeing the others, since they were some of my favorites. I didn't want to maintain two different types of displays and so I opened all my carded figures. The first one was a bit difficult but once I cased them all, I was happy I did it.
Having said that, I do still retain one figure on card: the Indiana Jones that came with the watch from last year. I just like the card that much.
-

If I may... Luke and the Blue Stars Snowtrooper...

By convincing, of course he means badgering.... ;)
Which two are those?
If I may... Luke and the Blue Stars Snowtrooper...
Yep, I got the Carded Luke at a reasonable market price via eBay back when my collecting habits hit overdrive. The Blue Stars Snowtrooper was acquired via a neighbor who has a brother living in Japan (sort of like Dark Helmet's brothers-fathers-sisters-uncles-newphews's former roommate type thing). So in either case, I haven't really spent a lot of these carded figures so I'm not stressed out over the opening of them. I just haven't gotten around to it (just in case!). I do have one "loose" figure in the Black Hole Stormtrooper that I got off ebay as well.
Anyway, sorry for derailing the question at hand on the Boba Fett Collection... please resume all BF discussions now ;)
-
Yikes!
Not counting Jango there are 13 100% Fetts.
(there are 3 Jangos:Series 9, 2 Pack and Box set version)
The only Unique Carded Fett is the Droids version that is different than the new Series one.
The carded Bape Fett is the same as the Vintage Secret from Series 1.
The carded Bounty Hunter version is the ROTJ Secret from Series 1.
Pretty sure all the 400% are just the 3 versions of the 100% ones from Series 1.
Didn't count Young Boba, would not mind getting that one though.
Anyone know what those run?
Sorry if I just repeated everything someone else may have posted.

I got the common chases -- NCSX so out of 4 different series boxes from NCSX- ive hit chase paydirt 3 of those times (Jar Jar, Shaak Ti and now Proto Fetts) (not that HLJ was worse since I was 2 for 3 (Veers and Senate Guard) in those boxes.
But I have yet to hit the lottery when I play that ;)

I opened mine this weekend - just couldn't wait for the meeting. So I had a few brews, headed to the bat-cave (my basement) and popped open the Fett box first. I opened a Kenner Fett box first and inside was a sweet little L-Slot Fett. I didn't even open any more for about an hour I was so pschyed. Jay and I decided to split if either got the common chase, so his win with the common yesterday, was a big win for me too. No chases with my series 10, but we had three chase boxes out of four, so can't complain about that. Both of us also ordered Gree ahead of time, so S10 and the Fetts worked out pretty nicely. ;D
I'm not sure if others ordered more than one box, but that looks like 10 chase boxes out of 16 or so from NCS. WOW. I will definitely order from them again and thanks to whomever found that site in the first place!

if you were going to put the Boba Kubes in chronological order what would they be?

Grabbed the blue L-slot off ebay for $169. I didn't wait until my prediction of $150 hit, but for $19 difference, I'll take it and then wait patiently to see if the J-slot drops down to that mark. I do want to finish off the chase, but the J-slot I can wait a long time for given the relatively minor difference. That L-slot was just too nice to pass on.

I do want to finish off the chase, but the J-slot I can wait a long time for given the relatively minor difference.
Done.
So by waiting 'a long time' you meant 17 days... Seems long enough in my book! Congrats!

LOL! Well, that's like 4 months in dog years.

In my defense, here's what I wrote some time ago above.
$169 for the L-slot proto.
$159 for the J-slot
$45 (?) for the 2/48 chase.
So I overpaid just a little compared to what I wrote above but the chase have been posted to Ebay less of late, so I thought I'd finish it out. I actually lost the auction on the J-Slot but was given a second chance offer so I took it.
I am actually now thinking that these will drop to normal chase prices, so around $125-150 for the 1:96 and $25-35 for the 2:48 chase. But it is nice being done.

Congrats on finishing the set Brent, nice prices. :)

Was just checking Ningyoushi and noticed that they have the L-Slot and the Proto-Fett for sale:
L-Slot Chase (http://www.ningyoushi.com/Star_Wars_Boba_Fett_Collection_Kubrick_PROTOTYPE_p/mk152-bw51.htm)
Proto-Costume Chase (http://www.ningyoushi.com/Star_Wars_Boba_Fett_Collection_Kubrick_B_W_CHASE_p/mk155-d1.htm)
Anyone still looking for these might want to check these out.

Thanks for that! I picked up the basic set and those two chases (and the Watchmen kubricks on sale). I really wanted the L-Slot over the J-slot, so unless I can find a really great J-slot deal, I think I'm set!

I noticed tonight on BBTS that they no longer have boxes of 12 and Master Cases listed. They now have a 'Box of 6' for $100 and a 'Master Case of 24' for $375...

Wow, that's cheap! Is it a temporary sale or just a marked down price?

It's a marked down price, but realisticly they've taken their previous inventory (boxes of 12 and Master cases of 48), cut them in half (boxes of six and Master Cases of 24) and adjusted the price to half of what they were charging in the past. So I think that they are trying a new tactic to move what they have in such a way that it appears as though you're getting a deal...

Best Price I've see for the L-slot Fett chase figure:
$102 shipped L-Slot Fett (http://cgi.ebay.com/Medicom-Star-Wars-Boba-Fett-Kubrick-TOP-SECRET-Rockett_W0QQitemZ140380651264QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item20af56bf00)

Assuming it's not bid up. That is a great starting price though.

Sorry I jumped the gun. When I originally looked at the auction page I thought it was a BIN. Didn't mean to get anyone's hopes up.
-
I remember this ebay seller sold an exact one a few months back. I was the only bidder then last few seconds I was out bidded. Looked at the history of the other buyer and no record/interest in kubrick figures. After a few hours I was offered a second chance offer to buy the figure. I reported this to eaby of shill bidding and have kept a close eye on this seller

Did you buy the second chance offer? Will be interesting to see if that happens again...

Hi Guys
First post Ive wrote on the boards
been collecting these great things now since they came out, use to be on Kubrick World as Worldwalker, seems like a long time ago
great to see they still have a good following, great boards as well, have always followed them.
Anywaty question. Got the last of the Fetts today, and on opening it up (it was the J slot) the head fell off.
on closer inspection, its made like the normal Kubricks, not like the Star Wars Kubs, Heads come off, Arms come off, Legs as well
now you can mix and match all the fetts into what ever colour you want, what do you think, loads of variations

Hmn...I'll have to look closer at that this weekend. I've never looked that closely at which ones have interchangeable parts. I know making my custom CW Kenobi took a lot of boiling and popping. :P Welcome to the boards!

Its only the Fetts
Dont think it s anything else

Well, the addiction continues. Picked up the J-Slot (J-Slop?) Fett off Ebay tonight for $77 shipped. 8)

Seriously, did you hit the lottery?! I think the last time I added it up, you were at about $1000 over the last month!

Yeah, I need to reign in the spending a bit. :-[ I'm at $910 for the month...with another week to go. Yikes! I had a little extra saved up from lack of Hasbro purchases the last 6 months, but have definitely gone over the budget. Luckily I still have some money coming in from a few sales...

My "J-Slop" Fett :D is on the way from HK. It doesn't include the gun - anyone who has one able to tell me if this is any different from the regular vintage Kenner Fett's gun? Thanks!

Thanks - that's what I was counting on. ;)

bid on the second j-slop he had up... someone out bid me last second. I immediately received a second chance offer ::), I passed. Hate sellers that use shill bidders.
-
anyone have all the chase Fetts pictured? was wondering if the color changes where even noticeable?
I have both series 1 chases and will at some point pick up the J and L slot chases but was on the fence about the DX 1 Fett.
-
I'm still missing the series 1 chase fetts as well as the L-Slop, the color prototype and the DX1. Out of those I'd most like to get a hold of the DX1 Fett--I like the ROTJ-style tan costume, plus that's the only DX chase I'm missing.
