Jeez, how did I miss this thread today?  Hey, do we have any Houston area JDer's out there?  I'm jonesing for that Clemens/Bagwell Fan Fest set!

The NFL 8 figures definitely look nice.  But once again, there isn't a single defensive player.  I've known the lineup for a while, but it still irks me that McFarlane won't give guys who play D their props.  Defensive players have been some of the best selling of the NFL line.

Yeah, but you know the company line Nick: Retailers tell us that defensive players won't sell in their opinion, so they want the 'money' players - QB, RB, WR.  Pretty shallow view of the fans, IMO.

I know it way too well.  And the reality?  Ray Lewis is one of the most sought after players in all of Sports Picks, the same as Urlacher.

Rest of NFL9 pics are up at spawn.com, this is the only one that matters.  I guessed right, they reversed the jersey colors.  Bastages.  Let's see if Moss (NFL10) comes in white.

Sweet!  That looks awesome, I've left Purple Pepper in his Package so this Purple Pepper is getting cracked open!  Moss is in Series 10 right?

Yup, Moss is series 10, late October/November I think.

I got rid of my loose Moss, so I need both of those.  No way I'm chasing the early Moss chase piece, so I'll be happy with the series 10 stuff.

Both of my Culpeppers are currently in the package, so it will be a nice fit.  Bennett is still sealed too.

Waiting on Onterrio Smith.   ::)

You'll keep waiting until he's the starter.  I'd guess Kevin Williams would be the next Viking and that's only if he has another huge year

Is Ogden the first Offensive lineman?

I think so, but honestly I don't follow the football SPs very much.  I can't think of another in the line at the moment.  Pretty much mostly WR, QB, RB - glory positions.

I know, I'll never see the Smith figure.  I don't forsee another Viking for a very long time.  Bennett was good fortune as it is.  There's always hope for a Tarkenton in the Legends lineup, but I doubt he'd make that.  McFarlane does come up with some weird-ass ideas though.

Is Ogden the first Offensive lineman?

YES.  At first I thought the silhouette they showed of the OL was Larry Allen.  I was a little surprised to see that it was Ogden, but not so much now.

Most of the NFL SP's have been either QB's or RB's.  Wide Receivers come next, and after them it's Defensive players and there are a couple of Tight Ends.  Also, we get our first kicker ever this year in the form of Adam Vinatierri.

On an unrelated note, can you guys keep an eye out for me for an MLB retro figure?  It's confirmed that MLB10 has a retro Yankees Pettite.  Can anyone lend a brother a hand and try to snag me one of these?

I can try Nick.  For obvious reasons, Yankees SP sit around here, but being a variant, Pettite might be tough.

Have you seen series 9 yet?  In particular, Nomar. I would like to get one, but Boston players don't make it to the shelves up here.  Let me know.

2 of my friends went to South Dakota State University where Vinatieri kicked in college, I will surely have to get them both one of these and repaint it in SDSU Jackrabbit colors :P  What series is he in?

Hmm, don't remember the Vinatieri series.  Guess if I look, that would make it easier ::)

Oh look, here he is in 10

Series 9

Series 8

MikeyD,
just the regular Nomar?  I think we still have some around here, possibly going on sale soon, down to $10 Cdn, or about $7.50 US.  No variants for that.

Nick,
will look, sometimes I luck out with baseball.

Need to find someone that actually wants a gray Arod. ::)

Brent, would that be the first one with him batting or the second one just released in series 9 with him throwing to first?  Doesn't matter either way, I need both.

Series 9 still on the pegs here.  I don't think anyplace has the earlier release, but I'll look for it as I check stores.  I'll pick up the series 9 when they clearance, hopefully soon.  By the looks of things there were 3 per case up here of Nomar.

Cool, thanks.  Keep me updated.

Nick, I'll still keep my eyes open for the retro Pettite.
