I mostly collect Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. That's about 60% of my toy dollars. The rest is divided among smaller lines I dig, like Marvel Legends and until recently, Masters of the Universe. I seem to think of MOTU as more of a chore than joy, so I've decided to back off that one for now.

I received a couple of Buffy figures in the mail today, (Buffy v1 and nice Angel) and I want more. Now, of course, the price on those will skyrocket, until Art Asylum picks up the license and delivers us from evil.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Your Favorite Character in the Saga?
« on: July 9, 2003, 12:03 AM »
My favorite character was Obi-Wan, but as the prequels progress, Lucas seems to be making him two-faced.

So I'm going to go with Luke and R2-D2, especially R2. That little droid can get you out of anything.

Saga '02-'04 / Target clearance
« on: July 8, 2003, 01:46 PM »
It's about time, too.

Action Fleet, Accessory sets, and Deluxe figures for $6.98 each.

Jedi Starfighters for $13.98, if I remember right.

I'm hoping this is to make way for Clone Wars stuff, of which I've seen no hide or hair of.

Jury's still put on the repainted Gunship, Jedi Starfgihter, Anakin's Starfighter, and Mace. Everything else is a go, provided Hasbro and the retailers actually make the product available to me. Especially Clone packs, hint hint, Hasbro.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Screen Scenes Wave IV and V
« on: July 6, 2003, 05:22 PM »
I hate to say this, but I hope to see waves II and III on shelves before I even think about what's down the line, what with the way distribution's been this year.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Imperial 4-pk - how many do you have?
« on: July 6, 2003, 05:21 PM »
Just one. I was disappointed in the quality of two figures in the set. The 'Stormtrooper' and AT-ST Driver are a couple of the worst figures in my collection. The Stormtrooper's head is loose, and the AT-ST Driver has a noticeably askew helmet. I'm glad I got a cool Vader and Astromech out of it, but I don't need more than one of those figures.

That's what I'm thinking too. I want to see a T4 anyway.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Midnight Madness
« on: July 5, 2003, 02:02 PM »
I did the Midnight thing for Episode I. It was fun, and I managed to find the three figures I wanted before any others- Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Darth Maul.

For Episode II, I could have gone to Wal-Mart to pick up stuff, but I waited and made the rounds the next morning. I found Anakin HD, Yoda, and a red Clone Trooper, but I didn't find Count Dooku until a few weeks later. Great times, man. I might hit a Wal-Mart at midnight for Episode III, but I've got some time to think about that.

I saw that poster in the lobby when I saw T3 today. I wanted to walk out with it, but the greaseballs behind the concession stand were looking in that direction. Off to allposters.com I go.

I just wonder one thing-is it possible to wreck any more vehicles than they did in this flick? Criminy.

But still, a great flick and kind of sad at the end. Destiny tends to suck like that. I want to see a T4 if it's all future war, all the time.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Buffy / Angel Figure Lines Cancelled
« on: July 4, 2003, 07:48 PM »
I was thinking about picking up this line. Maybe Art Asylum will pick it up and actually get the figures out to people. I, for one, have never even seen one of these, except for pictures on ebay.
But I kind of doubt it, because the show isn't having any new episodes made and it isn't exactly up to Star Trek's popularity.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: COOL! My car imploded!
« on: July 3, 2003, 10:50 PM »
That happened to my first car, a VW Jetta. I was just standing there, talking my someone, and I heard this loud 'pop' and the glass just busted. It stayed in place for a few seconds and then it all fell inside the car. Nothing hit it, it just blew up. I think aliens were involved. :-\

I may be alone in this, but I can't wait to see the final movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. In fact, I've already got December 17th off of work so I can stand in line and await cinematic bliss. I didn't even do this for 'The Phantom Menace' or 'Attack of the Clones' or the previous two LOTR flicks, for that matter.

Anybody patiently or not-so-patiently awaiting this movie? 8)

I fell asleep during my second viewing of 'The Two Towers.' I was attempting a marathin viewing thing were I would see it twice in a 24-hour period without sleeping. I failed miserably.

Going downtown, watching fireworks, see lousy country bands rape some covered tunes, and ogle the girls. Is this country great, or what?
