So Chicago just upped and traded Saad.  Didn't see it happening like that but oh well.

I'm still in shock over this.  Going to take me a while to get over this one...  I like to believe that Bowman knows what he's doing considering the teams he's put together over the last several years and the number of Cups they've won.  However, I for one considered Saad as part of the 'Future of the Franchise' players to go along with Towes and Kane, so it's really hard for me to understand this move.  Please someone help me make sense of this.

I've finally come off the high of the last week and the joy of a third Cup in my lifetime.  I have been blessed to be a fan of Chicago teams that have won Championships in every sport that I care about.  Bear, Bulls, White Sox and Blackhawks.  My wife is the only one in the house that is still holding out hope that this year will bring her Cubs a World Series.  I will support her in her misery later this year when that doesn't come to fruition... Again...

Now the focus goes from the joy of seeing them win, to the heartbreak of who will be leaving the team to make Cap space.  I just really hope that they can keep the Saadfather for many more years to come.  He has definitely emerged as one of my favorites on the team.  And I was glad to see TVR make it back from the patella injury.  He started off having a great season and it was too bad he got sidelined for as long as he did.

Unfortunately I have a feeling that Sharp and Oduya are gone (assuming Oduya recovers from elbow surgery and someone takes him) and wouldn't be surprised if Bickell is no longer on the bench come the season opener.  I'd like to see them try to get something done for Vermette but I'm not going to hold my breath.  I think that Richards would likely resign for more than last season but it's just a matter of whether they want to pay him or use the money elsewhere.

Going to be an interesting off season for sure!

What a great Father's Day treat to watch this with my sons this morning.  Very happy that they are getting into some of the things that made TCW so good.  Also loved some of the small nods to the OT and concept art (e.g., Kanan fighting Vader and the original Vader/Skywalker McQuarrie drawing).  I definitely think that Ahsoka knows and lied to the two of them.  Can't wait to see a fight between Vader and Ahsoka!  Also can't wait to see the new Inquisitor...

After the first 5-10 minutes of the first period I thought the Blackhawks were going to be in trouble.  Couldn't believe that crazy goal; nothing Crawford could do about that one.  Extremely happy they were able to steal the first game.  I just hope they don't come out flat again like that.

Up next...

Blackhawks (6)
Lightning (6)

Okay, off by one game each, but excellent prediction.  Can you please predict another Cup for the Hawks (even though I just read you're rooting for the Bolts)?  Thank you, that will be all...

Absolute zombie today.  Can honestly say that I fell asleep during both OT intermissions only to wake up again when the periods started.  Was conscious for the Shaw headbutt and the Kreuger winner.  Also saw Crawford standing on his head a few too many times for my liking, but I'm still trying to figure out if I actually saw what I saw or if it was because I was looking at the TV while laying on my side...

Anyway, it wouldn't be a Blackhawks playoff series if there wasn't an OT, 2OT, 3OT game in there somewhere.  Now time to hold serve at home before 'Goin' Back to Cali'.

Well, that was an unfortunate start to the Western Conference Finals for my guys.  I knew this was going to be a hard fought, physical series.  However, I was hoping that they would look better than they did.

Oh well, on to Game 2.  I'd definitely be happy with a split heading back to Chicago...

I was finally able to go out and see it last night.  Definitely going to need to see it again before I rank it in terms of the other MCU movies.  I think my main 'problem' was that I saw it with my wife who is not a big fan of continuous fighting scenes, so she had pretty much checked out by the time they made it to South Africa...

*Spoilers* in my commentary.

I definitely enjoyed it and continue to laugh at the unexpected humor (e.g., Hawkeye talking about Quicksilver).  But some of the opening fight scenes were too over the top/CGI for my liking (thinking when Cap throws the motorcycle).  I know that we are talking about a Superhero movie though so I take that stuff in stride.

I thought that Spader was the perfect voice for Ultron.  But not having been a die-hard Avengers comic book fanboy, the introduction of the Ultron project by Stark/Banner and then the realization of it in the movie was a bit too fast for my understanding/liking.  It was as if the entire backstory of it had already been introduced in another movie that I had missed and I wasn't in on the information...

I'm going to miss having J.A.R.V.I.S. as the voice/operating system inside the Iron Man suits.  Not sure how I feel about F.R.I.D.A.Y. yet and will have to see how things go in Cap 3 before I finalize that opinion.

So overall, another solid, entertaining and enjoyable Marvel production that I'm sure will rank high on my list once I've had a chance to dissect it over and over again.

Glad she's doing well Rob.  Our Dane got into the kitchen trash once she figured out how to open the cabinet, but never had to worry about her getting into the bathroom trash.  I don't think I've ever heard of that before.

My boys already started their Christmas list for this one.  They were also loving the fact that Disney confirmed they will be releasing an Age of Ulton based playset with Hulkbuster Iron Man and Ultron figures.

Had to put down our Great Dane, Buffy, yesterday after 13 years.  She was the only dog I ever owned and probably will be the last.  I don't think I could go through the last 3-4 months again with another dog.  It's just too hard.  For a big dog, she really did not have any major health issues.  It just ended up being her size that did her in.  The hips and knees just couldn't support her any more.  And considering that most Danes I've known or read about only live 7-9 years, she had a full life for sure.  I will definitely miss her...

Awesome story!  Best of luck, I hope that everything works out and it's in mint condition when you get it.

So, how much youse guys gonna pay this Dubnyk kid in the off-season?  He's UFA, correct?

If they keep winning series with him in net, then I have a feeling it's going to be quite a bit...

The Wild were the team I did NOT want to see this round.  They were on a hot streak at the end of the regular season and then whipped St. Louis.  I want to give my boys the benefit of the doubt, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see the Wild come out on top at the end of this series.

Okay, this is looking so much better than Season 1.  I like the conflict/fighting that was shown.  Hearkens back to Clone Wars to me, which was sorely missed in Season 1.  Really looking forward to having Rex and a few of the other clones back in the mix.  Should be a fun season to watch!
