Title: Some replicas that I have created.
Post by: Boba Binks on June 10, 2003, 04:53 PM
As you know I like to build things. So in the past few weeks I really worked on making some replicas. I made the following: Imperial Code Cylinder, Imperial Comlink, and a Millennium Falcon Concussion Missile.

You can see my in progress images on my site under my Collections section - Star Wars.  www.djsyczylo.net

Imperial Code Cylinder - Many different types were used throughout the sags. I based my off of the images in the Visual Dictionary.

Imperial Comlink

Millennium Falcon Concussion Missile - Though you never really see the missile in the movie I based my design out of the sketches in the Technology & Weapons guide. I just wanted a Star Wars replica that I did not think anyone else has yet to attempt to build.

Those look great David!  That Falcon missile sure doesn't seem very Star Warsy to me though, but you're right - it's probably something that no one else out there has (though you probably just inspired someone else to go and create one  ;))  Are the Imperial Code Cylinders those little gadgets on some of the Imp. Officers uniforms?  I think that's what I recognize them from anyways...

Keep up the great work, and post pix when you've got more!   8)

I am currently working on my E1 Jedi Communicator and making a mannequin for my Clone Armor.

Glad you like my stuff.

David, where did you get the Clone armor at?  I've always wanted to either get Stormtrooper, Biker Scout or Clone Trooper armor, but I have no idea even where to start.
Title: Clonetrooper TC-3778 is Finished!!
Post by: Boba Binks on June 20, 2003, 09:57 PM
As many of you know, I build lifesize creations. My latest project was the Clonetrooper which some I bought in kit form. Well, it is now what I would call finished. Lots and lots of work went into this creation. It was hard since there was no "real" armor for me to study when creating.

I will have to say that I am very happy with the way my Clone Armor turned out. It was lots of trial and error when creating it but I think it looks great.

Well anyways, you can view more of my Clone Armor and read what I have to say about it by clicking on the link below.

...but I think it looks great.

I concur!  Awesome work as always David.  I'll have to browse the rest of your site in a little bit, but based on this first shot, you've definitely created another great bit of custom costuming...  Keep it up!  Always looking forward to more of your work...   8)

Checked out the rest at your site.  Very cool!  So this is the first, last, and only time you're going to wear the armor, huh?  That's a bummer.  Looks fun...  But you've at least got to show your own mug off in it David!

David, that Clone Trooper outfit is awesome!  You did a great job putting that together.  Have you thought about possibly giving it a rank by coloring certain parts of the outfit (in red, green, yellow or blue)?  That would be a cool feature if you could do that.  Just an idea.

GREAT JOB!!!   ;D

Very cool outfit indeed!  :)
makes me want one too  ;)
Which helmet did you use, the rubies one or the kelloggs' one? Just curious as I have the kelloggs' cereal helmet. (which I got from our buddy Dale  ;)  )

Yes you get very hot in the armor, just like the Stormtrooper.

I am using the Deluxe Clone Helmet from Rubies. It is just a little larger than the regualr version which I think looks great.

I am glad that you like my armor. It was great fun in trying to do this project, which is a success.

David, that is an incredible costume you created!!  How many more pieces is it than the regular stormtrooper one?

It has four more (x2 elbows and x2 knees) than the Stormtrooper not including the 8 belt boxes and rear canister.

When I was taking the photos in the backyard my neighbor was out there looking at me like I was crazy. I was surprised that she did not call the police on me for having such a large weapon.

Please post and tell me what you think!

That is an incredible piece of work.  I like the idea of the grips by using the bike handles.  I don't think I have ever seen anyone make this before and it's a super idea.  You did an excellent job!!  I can't wait to see you in your Hoth gear behind your cannon  ;).

David, that cannon is absolutely fantastic!  It looks very realistic, and I'm also shocked that your neighbor didn't call the police on you.  LOL!  Great work, and again you cease to amaze me!

Can't wait to see your Snowtrooper costume.
