Oh, This is getting really, REALLY good! And just in time for Hallowe'en, too!

This was a great chapter, Chewie. If I ever get to finishing up or even starting my photonovel, I hope it's as half as good as yours. I'm bad at photonovel reviews, but I do know what I like, and I like this chapter!

Modern Classifieds / WTB ONE EE RED CLONE
« on: September 29, 2005, 10:13 PM »
All I need is one Red EE clone. It can be a battle damaged paint scheme or clean paint scheme, it matters not, so long as it's red! Please help and PM me if you have one for sale!

Yeah, whoever made that sure is talented. The suit looks promising, too. I wonder if he'll post pictures of it in light.

Lol. I've actually been customising for a long time, but haven;t really gotten into the complex parts swapping or just plain painting up until recently. Also, I've made a lot of customs that I haven't taken picture of cause they're horrible, but they've been good lesson-learner figures so to speak, making me conscious of what does and what doesn't work.

Oh, and I'll post a WIP Dav'sa Arman in mandalorian armour soon. :D

I WISH I had an E-bay account so I could bid on that Commander Grae! Well, actually, I'd need money for that, and I just spent my allowence on paints :P

Thanks for the comments, guys! To reply to Ryan's comment about the WIP Luke, For some reason I kinda like the neck, even if it does look a little long. I have no idea why, but it kind of gives it that comic-book/animated feel to it while not being too cartoony, so my bespin luke is naturally not the most accurate (Especially the arms, no pockets on the bicep and the cuffs on the cleeves are lose instead of fitten to his wrists), but it does look good to me. That, and I'm too lazy to shave down the neck some.

(Oh, and the arms I used are from SAGA Captain Antilles, so is one of the hands, and the other hand is from the SAGA Lobot)

That's why I don't even bother posting in RS anymore. I forgot who invited me to JD, but I HAVE to thank whoever did.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Question about wash
« on: September 26, 2005, 09:20 PM »
basically what a wash is what you want to do to give a custom a certain weathered look, I consider it the "bizzarro-dry brushing". What you do is dilute your paint (I don't know the ratio though, so someone else will have to take care of that) with water, and dip your brush in, then stroke the brush all around the custom -- when it dries, the water wil have evaporated and the paint will have not settled directly where you painted on, rather it will settle and dry in all of the nooks and crannies of the figure/ship/whatever, and give it that dirtied up look. I've seen some really nice customs that were washes and it really does bring out tyhe detail on the sculpts.

What torso did you use for Luke Bespin?

-DD

Thanks for the comments, guys! And if anyone has a spare VOTC han belt and blaster, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands!

For the Bespin Luke, I used the SAGA Bespin Luke figure.

That is one nice Trando Slaver! The armour is alomst spot-on and it's very reminiscent of Republic commando! I love the Concussion rifle, too!

Thanks Guys! I was thinking of giving him a grey drybrushing, actually. Maybe a tanone since concord dawn is kind of like the old west and naturally, there's sand there.
