Damn am I the only W.O.P. here? I'm Italian and French, which simply means I will  wack your family and then spend hours in a Jerry Lewis manic worrying over what I did.

My grandfather was originally from Italy and during the first world war he moved to France to live with some unknown  relatives of ours. After the move he came to America where he and my grandmother married. THat's all i know my grandfather was very tight lipped aobut that.

My grandfather was a Jack of all trades, but spent the last 20 years of his life building the Reading (It's sounds like Reding)Railroad. You will know it from your monopoly board. He worked as a engineer.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Scion vs. Prius
« on: June 29, 2005, 05:31 PM »
I don't own either, but I am a car enthusiasts. Here's what oyu face and things oyu need to think about. The Prius is a hybrid and the Rolls Royce of the hybrid models. It comes at a premium but oyu will benefit from the saving at the gas pump. It is not a speed demon I think it takes almost 11 seconds to get to 60 mph which will probably feel like you are goping to get killed entering any major freeway, but it is a great runabout in the city.

Mechanics of the Prius:

Yes it quite it's built by toyota so it will feel solid too. THe hybrid engine is the major concern for me. You will need to replace the cells in 10 years(that's based on average driving) and right now it isn't cheap to do. It cost somewhere in the neighborhood of about 10,000 dollars(right now, you need to keep that in mind) especially with warranty issues.  The main(gas) engine won't give you much trouble they have corrected the issue you spoke about in your original post.
Next, Hybrids are a mere fad right now just like the SUV fad is ending due to prices so will the hybrid. THere is not enough support in the ocuntry or legislation to support these vehicles at affordable prioces, until we get our energy policies under control this will continue(don't hold your breathe) our idiot.... I mean our president just decided to dig in protected reserves in Alaska.
Hybrid will eventually be replaced by another emerging technology, but GAS is still ruler of the kingdom for the next 50 years.

The Scion
Uggh where could I possible start that is possibly positive.  Do oyu remember when the U.S. automakers were getting pressure form japanese makers and they started producing cars like the chevy Vega or the Chevy Chevette. Well the Scion is the modern day Vega. It's a cheap car made inexpensively and oyu will get what oyu pay for. It has toyota badging(of sorts) but believe me this is one notch up from a Yugo. I beleive the XB is a little faster than the prius but oyu will still feel like oyur aobut to get creamed on the road.

THe Scion is definetly utlitarian and it drives like it. THe XB is definetly geared otward the younger generation why you can put flashing lights everywhere if you want too. Here's a hint if a car offers trciked out gadgets as a selling point it hiding something.....my guess is qquality. THis thing is meant to last about a year longer than a YUGO if oyu can't pay cash for it I would highly recommend you stay away from it.
I love Toyota I own a 05 limited 4 runner I have nothing against the company I just think youneed to take a look at some of the competition.
In my opinion if you are looking at these two vehicles you should also be looking at the Honda Civic.

Yes I agree King Kong had all the making of a incredible remake and a great vehicle for Jack black ....right up until the CGI started. Why do studios higher half ass companies to do cheap ass work. THe CGI in King Kong is a step back 15 yearts in technology. How anyone could possibly think that would pass as accpetable is well beyond my realm of comprhension.

I'm just a poser...
Nah, I'm out about it... I have a couple of SW items at my desk at work, and it's prominent in my apartment...
Wore my ROTS shirt today and Aidan is wearing his Vader/Emperor/Grevious shirt today... we went to the movies- saw Madagascar- hehehehe... but it's really cool- the lightsabers on his shirt glow in the dark... I haven't seen adult t-shirts for SW that glow in the dark :(
I asked him today why he hasn't asked me to go see SW, he told me he wanted to see it, but that SW was weird... yeah, I'm going to have to talk to his dad about this...

Yes you are nothing but a poser and just remember who outted you.

For work I have a a pair of Ferragamos and several pair of Kenneth Cole  boots. Since my wife has been a shoe buyer for Neiman Marcus I have learned the importance of quality footware. She has always worn good shoes whereas  I have insulted foot fashions for years until she sshowed  me the errors of my ways. Although Ferragamos are spendy (upwards of 400 bucks +) I will say the last a very long itme and the comfort is unbelieveable.  I have wide feet so finding something that fits and is comfortable does cost me.

Sneakers

I can only wear New Balance, Saucony or Reebok.  Nike are way to narrow for my feet plus I think most of them are ugly looking or have no material or no comfort factor whatsoever.
Nike has become the Sony of sneakersfrom my point of view Everybody perceives them to be good so they buy them with out much thought.

Chuck taylors as pictured above I have a few pairs of chuucks a few pair of pumas that I wear for flair.
