Hasbro (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/pl/page.news/id.1138/dn/default.cfm) has now posted "close up looks" at some of the collection 2 figures (looks like 11 of the first 12 to me, no Padme). Although not necessarily anything new, always nice to get some official pics of them too.
;)

Figured I'd start a new thread since the carded Figure thread is turning into one giant jumble of stuff...
The gang over at Action Figure Times (http://www.aftimes.com/aprequel/prequel.shtml) have some great new picutres up of some of the Collection 2 figures that have leaked out early...
- The AT-TE Gunner is FANTASTIC. 2-piece helmet! Removable Armor pieces! It is realy a GREAT figure and I'm sure the Army builders out there will love him.
- Mas Amedda, as speculated in the carded thread, he does indeed have a tongue that attaches to his face (just like the nose boogers on Dannik). ::)
I guess now PotJ Mechanic Jar Jar has someone to tongue-wrestle with... :P
Head on over and check out the great loose pictures of these figures!
Jeff
-
Maybe Mas will stick out his tongue in ROTS. Can't wait for that...I guess. At least it is not EU like Dannik. Anyway there are nice loose pics of Dooku over at Rebelscum. Big Spoilers though on that figure if you don't want to know.
-
The Mas Amedda tongue thing is actually pretty cool - I'm sure he has to do that in the movie - or at least was intended to. It could be cut out from it.
:P
-
So Mas Ameda is the Star Wars Gene Simmons?
I wonder if he markets himself on all kinds of merchandise... Mas Ameda T-Shirts, Mas Ameda Keychains, etc... Eh, guess not since Lucas would sue him.
-
The Jedi are really looking amazing. I think this will be the first time I've gone for 2 of each figure - one carded and one loose - simply because they look so great I'll want to display them in more than one way. 8)
- Mas Amedda, as speculated in the carded thread, he does indeed have a tongue that attaches to his face (just like the nose boogers on Dannik). ::)
Uh, stupid. I actually thought that maybe his tongue slid in and out instead of attaching to his face - first ever X-rated action feature - Deep Throat Action! :-X
Besides this goofy idea, I'm having a hard time seeing anything wrong with these figures. They are obviously trying to go all out with these - even the bases are greatly detailed and look pretty cool.
-
Agen Kolar rocks. His entire robe is removable - even the sleeves. Talk about a perfect looking Jedi.
:P
-
yeah, that robe idea's probably one of the better ones Hasbro has tried, so long as it doesn't look odd in person. It seems cool by all photos seen, so I'm digging it.
A nice answer to the Hasbro inability to make a good cloth Robe.
The irony there is that Hasbro CAN do good cloth robes, they just needed better fabric. If anyone here got the "Total Control" Mace Windu figure, they know there's a fabric out there that hangs JUST right. Hasbro never sought to use that fabric on a sewn, removable robe though. It would've worked perfectly though... If I could find that exact fabric I'd be sewing up my own Jedi Robes constantly for all these figures that need a good cloth robe.
-
Anyway there are nice loose pics of Dooku over at Rebelscum. Big Spoilers though on that figure if you don't want to know.
Although the figure looks really nice, I think that they (RS) kind of pushed something a little further on the "spoiler" feature than it was intended to go, or Hasbro has screwed up the spoiler itself. I'll attempt to explain this by darkening the text, although this hasn't worked in the past...
The left hand post surgical removal, ha ha, doesn't look like it was intended to be removed. Where the right hand has the peg on the hand/wrist and the hole in the arm, on the left arm, the peg is on the arm and the hole is in the wrist. Maybe I'm not up on the latest SW universe skeletal structures and everything, but I always figured that if the Chosen One sliced through my arm with a lightsaber, it would leave a "clean" cut.
The figure does look great though. Needless to say I'm going to be going after the Collection 2 figures first and the Collection 1 non-Clone figures will wait (probably only a few minutes, but they will still wait). ;)
-
Agen Kolar has to be the best Jedi figure they've done so far. I'm definitely getting a few of him for customs - robed Obi and robed Mace, and maybe sleeves for the III-28 Anakin, because he doesn't have them (but does in the film). So excited. And getting at least three of those AT TE gunners, too.
-
I know. I can not wait for that Kolar figure. He'll be one of the first figs I snatch up. Man the wife won't be pleased on April 2nd. Not that she's against my collecting. It's just that she does not like seeing me buy multiple figures all at once. She may relent though if I whine "But...but...but...it's the LAST Star Wars movie." That's sure to win her over!!!
-
Rebelscum put up some loose pics of Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar and some others. Some massive spoilers with Kit and Agen. I was kind of on the fence in regard to Kit Fisto but that put him into the must buy category for me. Agen looks awesome even without the robe.
They are not kidding with the "spoiler" label on the pics.
-
Man, these "spoiler" figures are making it really hard for me to be careful about what I know about the movie. I'll have to be damn sure I don't read the packages when they come out on April 2. :-\
But the way you guys are oogling them, I'm VERY interested, and will be buying them for sure. ;)
-
Minor Spoilers....
Looks like Rebelscum now has a preview up of the C-3PO (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0518c-3po.asp) figure, which apparently has removable limbs as well. Either that, or they're just ripping appendages off of each figures they preview :P. Doesn't look like too bad of a representation of the ole protocol droid. Better than the VOTC version it looks, although that isn't stretching far :).
-
Bail Organa (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0515bailorgana.asp) is in the hizzy over at RS now. Ok, I don't know what that means, but it looks like a pretty nice figure of ol' Bail.
-

I'm wondering if the removable limbs are actually intentional or if it's just simply the way it was made. The Saga Endor Rebel Soldier and Captain Antilles figures have some fairly easy to remove wrist and elbow joints, respectively, but I don't think it's that intentional; I think Hasbro's just too cheap to use good plastic in this day and age.
With my earlier Dooku peg-wrist comment, I wonder if the photographers at RS aren't just pulling everything apart for the sake of pulling it apart. Maybe I'm wrong, and there is some reason for it, but either way, this could be the most violent wave of action features ever released in a SW line if all the appendage impairment is true and not a manufacturing thing.
-
Those figures look really good. I'm glad that they put the "slit" on the side of Kit's skirt so that he can raise his legs.
Also, I do think that Rebescum guys are just pulling everything apart randomly.
I really don't think that 3PO ends up in pieces in ROTS.
-
Hmmmm, that is interesting. I just assumed the figures were meant to do those features. Maybe this is Hasbro way of getting around not putting those features on the figures. They can say "Wha? No, that's not what it was INTENDED to do (wink-wink-nudge-nudge)." No irate parents and no upset collectors. Well, there will always be upset collectors. But you know what I mean.
-
A number of new preview features up over at Rebelscum, including Bail Organa (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0515bailorgana.asp), Mon Mothma (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0524monmothma.asp), Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0514palpatine.asp), Shaak Ti (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0521shaakti.asp), and the Royal Guard (Blue) (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0523royalguardB.asp). Kind of neat how detailed the sculpt is on the Guard, underneath the robe portion. Great for customizers I'm guessing. All of these figures look pretty spiffy to me.
-
Yeah, Agen Kolar rules.
-
Some more previews...Battle Droid (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0517battledroid.asp), Preggers Padme (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0519padme.asp), and one of my favorite "background" Jedi, Plo Koon (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0516plokoon.asp).
Also, GH has Mas (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=4030&zoneid=2), Luminara (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=4028&zoneid=2), and the very cool AT-TE Tank Gunner (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=4029&zoneid=2).
-
What is it? Only a month now? Ugh... ;)
-
Too true, a month away now, and I don't have nearly enough money saved up ;).

I guess I'm thinking they are ripping off appendeges because they come off not because they are actual spoilers.
Those new Blue/Red guards are orgasmic
-
Heh, yeah got a laugh out of the "spoilers" there. You can do that to the POTJ Imperial Officer, but it doesn't make it a play feature. ;)
Agen looks great though, especially after I had assumed the figure was going to be a statue compared to the other Jedi. What a shock to see all the articulation and soft goods under that innovative robe. Love it!
-
These figures just keep looking better and better.
:P

Yeah...that seemed so retarded to me. SPOILER! Oh look. You pulled his arms apart at the articulation. Wonderful. Where's the spoiler? Oh boy.
I <3 Blue Guard.

I honestly think the random chopping in the RS photos is being done as a way of covering up the fact that they're lagging behind every other site out there in terms of showing the toys. Kind of a "They showed it to you first, but did they show you this?" approach to the whole thing. Then again, I'm a paranoid conspiracy theorist, so what do I know? ;D
That Royal Guard does look really nice though. I'm not into the comics or anything, so "Kir Kanos" means nothing to me, but I'm just glad that there is ample articulation and actual limbs under the body instead of the "salt shaker" approach Hasbro/Kenner used for figures during the POTF2 days. Not to go into any big spoiler territory or anything, but has the origin of the ERGs been explained anywhere since they appeared in AOTC? I know the whole "elite" of the Stormtroopers thing that went around years ago, but I was curious as to their origins now that we have the background that was previously missing regarding the Empire's pecking order.
And speaking of, I'd like to see Mon Mothma from ROTJ resculpted with the same detail the ROTS figure has gotten. With General Madine, Bail Organa, Jan Dodonna, and Captain Antilles getting such great sculpts and attention, and her ROTS incarnation getting that same effort, I'd like to see her "Bothan Requiem" appearance get the same treatment.
And that Dooku....wow, that's a nice figure. To me, as a villain, he was always much more interesting than Maul was. Kind of like Henry Rollins said about Chuck D and (pre-Hollywood) Flavor Flav. Chuck/Dooku is the straight man, dropping politics and knowledge, and Flav/Maul is the guy that just blows **** up. :)

They did put a question mark after the spoilers because there are strong rumors indicating certain figures do get butchered up that way. Especially on Kit Fisto. So, it could be a spoiler to some. But now that they have pulled the limbs and heads off of every balljointed neck figure it's kind of pointless.
-
I want to apply Jesse's Total Control Mace robe complaint to the new Royal Guard. They've done this awesome figure, with great articulation, and used a soft goods robe -- but again, it is this heavy, poorly hanging felt material that just blows the realism of the figure for me. If they had used that nice, thin, well hanging material from the TC Mace, the figure would be perfect.

Hasbro has an update today of Collection 2 Wave 2 Action Figures (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/pl/page.news/id.1147/dn/default.cfm), Ki-Adi-Mundi, Saesee Tiin, Luminara Unduli and Aayla Secura.
-
Maybe Mas will stick out his tongue in ROTS.
I'd rather see Padme or Leia do it.
-
Been a while since I've seen you post in this section Dressel. Hail Dressel. :)
:P
-
Hasbro has another update today continuing with Collection 2, Wave 3 (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/pl/page.news/id.1149/dn/default.cfm). Vader’s Medical Droid, AT-TE Tank Gunner, Polis Massan and Mas Amedda are on deck for your viewing pleasure.
-
Rebelscum has put up their preview of the Red Senate Guard, you can check out several pics right HERE (http://www.rebelscum.com/rots0523royalguardR.asp).
-
They forgot to put SPOILER? on this picture :P
(http://www.rebelscum.com/ROTS/rots0523royalguardRbodyfr.jpg)
-
It's a kickass version of the Red Guard! Although it does need the force pike :(
-
I'm geeked that they went so far as to put a holster on this guy with a bikerscout sidearm. Nice work on Hasbro's part. Articulation looks good too, and I'm pleased with the robe.
Looks like it's time to cast some forcepikes. Now the question then is if you go with the vintage pike or modern ones... I dunno which I like more, but probably modern just for accuracy sake. Vintage maybe for some diveristy?
-
Actually, that suit under the cloak is EU, from the Crimson Empire comic.
Cool fig, I'll pic up a few. Best Royal Guard yet.
-
ToyNewsI.com now has a few loose shots up of the Clone Commander (http://www.toynewsi.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=6409) figure. Nothing we haven't seen before, but just some new, different, looks at the figure. This is one of the figures I'm looking forward to most, looks like a good one.
-
Those are nice pics of that figure... so much better than the ARC that it's not even funny.
:P
-
Got a couple more figures today – these from Amazon.com.
I cracked open Ki-Adi Mundi, and man oh man, am I happy. It seems to apply everything that was learned from vOTC. A fully articulated figure, with a soft goods cloak and detachable belt ala ANH Luke. The only downside is his arms don't come together close enough to grip the saber in both hands. Odd.
They finally used a good material for the outer cloak. It's nice and flexible, and seems to hang realistically. It's a major improvement and is exactly what they need to be doing for all of their Jedi figures, especially a nice, final Anakin.
-
Just opened Agen Kolar and immediately took off his robe and put it on Coll 1 Mace. It works alright and will suit until they finally pull their heads out of their a-holes and give us a decent Mace Windu. He's 2nd behind Padme for getting the Royal Shaft from Hasbro in the Prequels
Loving the Collection 2 Jedi though, they are some really great figures :)
-
Collection 2 Mace Windu with the Agen Kolar Robe reused?
I'd be all for that Scott. :) A new Mace with a perhaps superior sculpt (hide those shoulders dammit), but I'd buy him all over for that. I'd buy 2 of him for that actually.
-
Spiffy pics of Three-Eyed Goat Boy, Governor Foul Stench, and the Fishie Dude. (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=4287&zoneid=2)
All three look awesome.
<Edit: Thank you to whoever merged this. I thought there was a C2 thread already, but somehow I couldn't find it. :)>

I just did this for Kit Fisto....YES!!! Looks awesome. Agen Kolar robes for everyone! Sae Sae, Kit, Mace for the Chancellor's office scene.
:D

AT-TE Gunner in stock at BBTS. (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/toystan.asp?Queryid=sith071)
How nice of them to sell it to us for $14.99. It's like a wannabe Brian's Toys. ::)
-
Also in stock (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007WB082/yakfacesrealm01/104-0868344-3389515) at Amazon this morning, at least as of 8 AM Central time. $6.99 a pop, good luck to anyone who is still needing this one.
-
Hopefully some of these figs will eventually start hanging around. I have found the same Clone Commanders sitting at my WM since Wednesday.
I ordered a few AT-TE since I have seen only one to date ???
As far as that BBTS price, its too bad. They use to have decent prices.
Im beginning to see alot of online stores that used to be good go downhill, have outrageous prices or put certain figs on ebay.
Namely: Kebco, Yestertoys, Big Bad Toy Store, KC Collectibles, etc.
-
The front page of YodasNews.com (http://www.yodasnews.com) has a pic of the new paint variation on the Wookiee Warrior.
-
I received a couple AT-TE gunners from Amazon today, and honestly, I'm not that impressed with this figure. After the SA clones we've been getting recently, this one seems kind of stuck in one position (arm-wise). Plus, the forearm on one of mine doesn't want to stay on. I guess its a cool figure, but it would have been better on a SA clone body.
-
Ah, Jeff pointed out these are Col. 2 (which I didn't stop to think about), but anyway here's the confirmation of the Tarkin wave shipping to Wal-Mart.
GH reader finds in AZ (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=4493&zoneid=2)

Sorry to dredge up an older thread, but I didn't want to clutter the forum with a new one for one simple question. :)
Anyway, I was wondering if everyone else's AT-TE Gunner figure was missing the black "bodysuit" paint applications near the shoulder joints on the torso? I hadn't really paid close attention to this until yesterday when I was playing with admiring the figure, and now that I've seen it, it kind of bugs me. It's obvious where the armor stops and the bodysuit stops, but instead of being black, it's still that same shade of white. :-\
As I only have the one AT-TE Gunner myself (and since I have just noticed this, making it kind of difficult to check all zero of the ones hanging around on pegs), I didn't know if it was me getting stuck with a poorly painted sample (and that I should be on the lookout for a "good" one) or if it was the standard thing with the figure.
-

I just checked the few that I have and they are all like that. ;)
