Saga '02-'04 / ESB 25th Anniversary Sets?
« on: December 6, 2002, 07:59 PM »
I just received Issue #122, Dec. 2002 of Lee's Toy Review and they talk about retailers discounting the ANH 25th Anniversary sets (Luke & Leia, Han & Chewy & Vader and Ben). At the end of it they say, "grab them now before the 25th Anniversary EMPIRE figures begin shipping!".

Hello? I have not heard or read a thing about a series like the ANH 25th being released for each film. If "Empire" is next, what are the sets? It's not the trash compactor sets is it? That is definitely not "Empire". I even scrolled through Galactic Hunters 'pirated' list of 2003 releases and nothing...

Anyone have any clue about this? While I would like to have broken this story and posted it on our site, I figure the forum elite are just as good as front page, and we may be able to help each other to get this to be an exclusive article here. Am I missing something, or is this news to anyone else? Please help and at least let me know if anyone knows anything about these...

Collections / Re:Some of my stuff

I'm going to cry!!!

Beautiful! I sob at the idea that I once possessed a collection of the old school like your own, but decided to have a Koreshian finale to my Star Wars toy playing days. Pyro phases suck!!! Oh well, I have yours to admire.

Thanks for the memories! Awesome!

The Original Trilogy / the death of Obi-Wan...
« on: December 5, 2002, 01:11 AM »
What jedi magic does Obi-Wan summon to vaporize his physical being? Even Vader looks a bit perplexed when he lifts up Obi-Wan's robe. I have never really thought about the actual phenomenon of this and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me...

Feedback / Darth Cycy's feedback
« on: December 1, 2002, 12:38 AM »
Just completed a trade with Darth Cycy. We started it on jedichris.net and it will end here. I had not traded for 6 months due to a misfortunate experience with a 'BAD TRADER' prior to this one with Darth Cycy. He understood my paranoia and was very empathetic to my situation. He made the entire trade a great experience that has vaulted me back into wanting to get back on the trading block again. He has restored my faith in my fellow trader and opened the door again to the wonderful universe of trading.

His items arrived as he said they would (momc) and his packaging was expertly done. So much so that a crushed box corner had no effect on the contents of the package.

His packaged arrived in a timely manner and he has been polite, accomodating and we communicated throughout the trade.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend trading with Darth Cycy and hope others have the opportunity to experience what I have in my trade with him. Pure Satisfaction!

Fan Art / Re:Lots and lots of Art...
« on: November 26, 2002, 11:02 AM »
Being a classically trained artist (mostly sculpt now) and an art teacher, I want to say that you have a unique and interesting approach to creating art. The mix of pencil and computer generated color is a pretty cool combination. Creativity is an amazing thing and I respect you for sharing your artwork and being able to draw what you enjoy. Most do not have the ability, or the motivation (me), so keep it up and keep letting us know where to see you newest stuff!

Star Wars Universe / Re:Shadows and EU
« on: November 22, 2002, 11:46 PM »
I just think that Mara Jade, Darktrooper, Leia Organa Solo, Spacetrooper and Grand Admiral Thrawn from EU are really nice figures. I also like Chewbacca as Snoova (I know it's a bit hokie, but it's Chewbacca). The 2-packs from SOTE are great! I just like the stuff and want more. I agree to disagree at this point.

As far as I know, all these ideas are approved by Lucas himself. I would imagine that he would not let something be printed about his universe without giving it a thumbs up. George has the power to kill any idea and so, he probably has had some input in most of the EU stuff out there. I am only familiar with comic stuff and not as so with the novels, but I intend to look into them when the movies stop and I hope at some point, someone picks up the ball and takes some of these things into smaller format film media (HBO, network tele or even the big screen. I am not a 'true' fan of EU, but I am not against the idea, nor am I against the characters of these EU stories being made into figures.

Power of the Jedi / Re:POTJ Aurra Sing-AHHHHHHHHHHH!
« on: November 21, 2002, 03:54 PM »
Sometimes, if you find the right one, Walmart has POTJ figures on clearance and the one in my neck of the woods does have a bunch of Aurra Sing figures. I also know a collectibles dealer who has one collecting dust on a peg in his shop. I could score it for you, but I would want to trade, not take your money. Let me know.

Star Wars Universe / Re:Shadows and EU

I thought of a couple I would like to see...

1. A figure of a Bothan Spy. They deserve a figure especially because of the species class they will have for them  when SW Galaxies gets rolling. We know what they look like, and they are definitely cool enough to get a figure.

2. Wooacca (sic). I have never liked any of the art I've seen for his character, but we need more wookiees and a wookiee jedi would be a darn good addition!

3. A Krayt Dragon Beast Figure. The only thing we have to go on is a skeleton in ANH, unless I forgot that they added one in the newer release. These are so cool and beasts you do not want to mess with.

4. Any new bounty hunters would be great. Would also like to see Jango Fett's posse from the Open Seasons comic.

that's it for now.
