There is some chatter over at Kubrick Nation of a possible carded R2-D2 figure with chrome dome. Not happy about yet another re-release from Medicom, but happy to get a possible nod to the vintage R2 with the shiny head. What would really be cool is if the head spins and makes the 'clicking' noise...

Yeah I spotted that too and have the same feeling towards Medicoms current strategy with re-releases. Sadly I doubt the head will click and if I get one I won't find out! ;D I'll leave that to the carded barbarians... :P

Supposed to be at the Summer WonderFest (July 24th?). I haven't seen any sort of official confirmation from Medicom yet, but it very well could be scheduled to be included in the update this month...

Tokyo Hunter has this up for pre-order at 4,500 yen shipped to North America.
Yeah I decided to get this but I always go SAL shipping with Tokyo Hunter. I've never had any trouble and the figures always arrive in good condition and quicker than you'd expect. The total cost would be 3580 yen with SAL shipping to North America.

borrrring. This line seems too new to be running out of good ideas. They hit some home runs with blue snowtrooper, amanaman, blue snaggletooth, and several others. But the re-release mode seems premature. I sure hope there is an update on DX3 this month. I'm itching to add a garindan to the tatooine scene, but very tempted to dump my box order and just get a 6 off the bay.

Technically this isn't a re-release. He has a Chrome Dome! and is far better than anything they've painted blue then re-released.

I think its interesting enough to get for for $30-40. Beyond that, I just really don't need yet another character that I already have multiples of even if he does have a shiny new dome.

Just got notice from Big Bad that mine shipped today. ;D
I'm not overly excited about $47 shipped for another R2, but that was much cheaper than anything I found on Ebay. This will help offset some of my Deluxe Series 3 Non-Chase blues...

R2 Arrived over lunch today. Much as I don't feel like I don't need another R2, I really like the shiny dome. I'm a little bummed about a big bend in the card, but I think I would have opened this one up anyway.

Despite my earlier griping, I decided to get this from BBTS too. At $40, it looks like a steal compared to DX chases. Now I have to decide if I want to track down the shiny C-3PO as well :-\ .
The horizontal hash marks on his body are painted silver, where they were left white on the 2-pack version. The early bird version has them painted gray rather than silver (along with the other areas).

I watch for them every once in a while, but they are rare to find on the bay. I am going to open mine up. If anyone sees JL cases I need a few more for.my dlx now...
