YEA!!! Finally, things are really starting to warm up here! It feels good! ;)

If your profile states your real location, then it's actually finally beginning to cool down to normal, after the mid-80s heat of the past few weeks. ;)

I was visiting there a about a week ago, and it was a little too warm. :P

Actually it only started warming up about a month ago.  And that is not even that warm.  Now it is starting to feel really good, with the warm sun heating things up, and the wind blowing, it is all spring!

But I know we are going to have one hell of a summer.

Plus, our winter was pretty ugly!  So I am glad to see things return to normal! ;D

Yeah, summers in Mo-town are always brutal. Gotta have A/C. I used to actually enjoy those hot summers, but now I can't stand it if it's above 80!  :P

Yes, they are very brutal.  Did you use to live here or something?
Title: Re: Spring is Here!
Post by: stormie on March 23, 2004, 02:37 PM
Sure did. From 1978 to 1993. 15 long, hot summers! I thought you would've seen that sly reference I put in the "12 things about you..." thread, referring to my time living in Lucas' hometown. You did know he is from Modesto, right? He even went to Downey HS.  ;)

Sure its spring time based on a calender, but weather wise its still freezing out.  Its supposedly supposed (is that proper grammar?) to warm up later this week.  I hope so, this cold weather is really irritating and I want to get outside and do spring like activities (softball, can't wait)

The weather here is starting to get better. Tomorrow a high of 7°C & by Friday, 8°C. The snow is melting at a good rate which is fine by me.

A high of 10°C today. That should help bake this cold out of me & get rid of the snow faster.

We're not getting the roller-coaster ride you guys are.  We've been above zero, but not by much.  Up to 6 C today.  Still cold enough at night though.  Brrr.

One month until the golf courses open is my guess.  :D

Meh...  Still in the 50's in Pittsburgh at the best.  Soon I'll be droppin' the top though.  I've never looked forward to decent weather as much as this year.

75-ish would suit me perfectly...  Is there a place on Earth that's constantly in t he low to mid 70's year-round?  :)

Today in Oklahoma, the sun is shining!  And the wind is blowing!  And there are clouds in the sky!  And it is warmer during the day, when the sun is out!  And it is colder at night, for some reason!

It's all very, very strange!

Any rotating clouds in the area???

I don't know, but sometimes I'll go out on the playground after having some pudding and chocolate milk, and I'll look up at the sky, and see a cloud, and then I'll start spinning around and around, and keep staring at the cloud, and then after a while, it will seem like I'm not spinning around, but the cloud is!

Is that what you mean?!?!?!?!

In future please stick to a topic when it's started IE if you post about say a new "Death Star Luke" figure then stick to it and it may stay around much longer. But when you change the thread into say "Death Star Luke figure and EU KOTOR figures" and theres already a thread on it (and you clearly know their is one) then the thread isn't serving it's original purpose and becomes off topic. Also search for any already opened threads that are discussing the subject you wish to post about because 80% time their is already something posted on a subject somewhere in here.

We really didn't just do that did we? ;D

If you have input, email me. I will read it and comment as I can. I may not respond individually as my goal is not to make any one person happy, it's to manage the forum in the direction I feel best serves the community.

I never, ever, listen to people that want the good old days back. The good old days were when this was a small community. It is no longer small and compared to the unhappy members, we have many happy ones.

If the forum isn't for you, there are several other forums out there and they are all run by excellent webmasters. You'll be happier, I'll be happier and the community will be happier.

We really didn't just do that did we? ;D

Yeah, I think so.   :o

Speaking of which:

Though you may not be willing to accept the facts, there's a reason the
Rebelscum community is by far the largest in Star Wars collecting and it's
not because the staff of the forums is inept. We manage it the way the
community wants it managed and the first thing I throw out is a comment by
somebody that tells me it was better when it was CSW. You guys should all
get together and discuss it. There's only a few hundred of you anyway.
Probably less. See, that's the thing, you guys all forget that when it was
Mike's, it was small and did not include thousands of people that are now
involved. Guess what, check the post counts. Check the membership at both
forums. They are small. For me, I don't want a small club of buddies to talk
with. I want every kid and adult to have a chance to have fun with Star
Wars. That happens better with a large community than it ever will with a
small clique.

If you don't care for our community, I strongly suggest you avoid it. Do not
come here attempting to tell me how to run it. Come back when you have
something to show off and then we'll talk.

I'm god so live with it.... all you guys have to resort to making "post" comments as thats all you've got. So I post more often then you guys (and in more then the 2 or 3 sections go too) just get over it.

Mike,

I would appreciate it if you'd respect my authority as a staff member here, and
refrain from "innocently" baiting me with threads like this.

Not once have I ever insulted you, brought any kind of physical or mental
anguish upon you, or called you out.

Your thread is unnecessary, spiteful, and pretty immature. It seems as if a lot
of people, you included, have a hard time distinguishing between obessesion and
appreciation.

I worked extremely hard to piece together a "Fango Jett" memorabilia collection,
the likes of which the world has never seen, to show my appreciation for both
the actor and character.

I don't see why you and people like "Bobby_" like to make fun of myself and my
collection and start defamatory threads such as this, being totally unprovoked.

In any case, I'm moving to have the thread moved because it's all to spite me,
and for no reason, since you seem to hold the fact that I am a big fan of a Star
Wars character against me.

In closing, I'd appreciate it if you'd refrain from threads like this in the
future because I have rarely found anything you have to say indirectly about me
or my collection satrical in the least.

Thanks,

"Casey G."

I drove with the top down Friday (was downright hot Friday) and yesterday though, yesterday was a tad nippy to be doing so.

We're dipping at least down to the 50's this week though, and maybe back into the 40's, so warm weather isn't here to stay I guess.  :(
