Man things sure changed for me between January of last year and the end of December. For 2010 I had set a goal of  spending $1500 or less for the year... I ended up making $289. I doubt I'll be able to duplicate that this year but I think I can probably keep my number under $1000 for 2011. And with the way the Vintage figures have been distributed I don't think that'll be a problem at all for me. :)

January - $15

    -Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for Xbox360 $15

February - $18

-Star Wars Vintage Collection Endor Rebel Troopers x2 $18

March - $0

April - $21

    -BaR2-D2 & DSE Luke $21

May - $27

-5 TIE Pilots from one of the Vintage Endor Pilot Packs x 2 $27

June - $21

-General Lando & Weequay Skiff Master $21

July - $21

    -Vintage Collection Sandtroopers x5 $21

August - $0

September - $0

October - $122

    -Gears of War 3 $40
    -TVC Rebel Fleet Trooper $10
-Target Search for Luke BP & Luke's Landspeeder $52
    -Revenge Wicket and BaR2-D2 $20

November - $183

    -Assassin's Creed: Revelations for Xbox360 $64
-Halo: CE Anniversary for Xbox360 $43
-TVC Revenge Leia and TIE Pilot $20
    -Jabba's Throne Set $26
-TVC Black Endor Rebel Troopers x 2 $20
    -TVC AT-AT Commander $10

December - $49

    -TVC Rebel Fleet Trooper $20
-TVC Ponda Baba, Bastila Shan, Echo Base Trooper $29

  2011 TOTAL - $478

I never really did keep that good of a record of last year, but I'm pretty comfortable saying I easily made back more than I spent.  I sold about $2K worth of stuff over the past 12 months and possibly even more.  I bought relatively few items and probably kept it below $1500 on toys I'd guess.

So far this year I"m off to a rousing start though:

Gentle Giant Animated Palpatine $58 including shipping
Gentle Giant Animated Slave Leia $81 including shipping

I sold a pile of stuff this year, coming out net $400 in my pocket.  That is the first time that has ever happened.  Hopefully I can continue the trend for 2011 and eliminate a lot of my extras.

I ended up spending more than expected in January, $342.  Though the majority was from purchases made in December finally getting past the Christmas mail glut and through to me in Canuckia.

This thread made me laugh. I must have spent like $50 on stuff this year it's been such slim pickings in brick and mortar.

Yeah it's been about the same for me too. I stop several times a week at the local Targets and can't find a thing. I have had a $50 giftcard since my birthday in January that I've only managed to use up halfway... It is just so hard to find anything these days at retail.

I've considering ordering cases online but with the OT and PT mixed waves doesn't work for me. I only collect OT nowadays and would have to try and sell nearly half of every case I'd buy. And with money being what it is for me lately, I just can't afford to do that.

I caught myself up last night and I'm spending about the same amount as usual... the drought in Hasbro figures has led to me just buying older DVDs and video games so it all evens out. :-\

Just about two months left in the year and I'm not quite even a quarter of the way to my goal. A few more video games next month will jump it up a bit but I'll likely finish almost halfway under my goal. :)

I caught myself up the other night and I'm a few hundred away from reaching $2000... I'd like to avoid going over that so we'll see.

With 2011 all over, I finished just over halfway under my target of $1000 with $479. Not too bad, though I'm over $1000 by about $200 if I count the new flatscreen TV I had to buy this year after my old one died.

I would have gone over for sure if distribution was better at retail. I wanted small armies of the new Rebel troopers but I only ever bought what I saw at retail, which wasn't a whole lot.

Finished up with around $2300, well above my goal of what I believe was $2000. I found pretty much every Hasbro figure I wanted (and bought multiples of some  ::))and also snagged a whole lot of DVDs and Blu-Rays on clearance, which adds up.

I think I will keep track this year. I'll give Star Wars a budget of $300 (mostly for finding vintage parts and weapons) and video games a budget of $250.

So far I'm in the to the star wars budget by $15 for a c9 vintage kenobi and $8 for an Atari 2600 cart of Stargate.

I didn't plan a budget overall, but still wanted to see what the year would come to.  I spent way less on modern stuff but started to dabble in vintage Kenner figures, so that put me at $4445.  There's always lots of stuff to find for my Vader focus, so that definitely contributed to my total as well.
