Here's to hoping it was an error and the Dark Trooper is supposed to be 1x to a case...

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2024 March Madness Poll
« on: March 27, 2024, 11:38 AM »
I ended up voting for Pong Krell in the finals... even though I'd rather have Baylan in my collection.

Just on principle I didn't want to vote for two of the main characters from a new media show that has been out for less than a year, especially since they are both lightsaber wielders. Hasbro and LFL should know that we want these and they should already be in the line anyways. It's not surprising to see the fanbase so divided over this poll, that's really par for the course for Star Wars fandom these days. I do wish more people would look at these as an opportunity to vote in never-before-made characters or figures that Hasbro wouldn't likely consider otherwise, but realistically I want 61 of the 64 figures on that list, and was mostly fine with the starting choices. It's sad that it will take so long to get any of them made with the way the line is today.

I was really hoping Baze Malbus or Luthen would win, those were at the top of my list. But I do like the look of him and enjoyed the episode arc he was in. I'd happily buy him if Hasbro ever made him.

Nice! Hopefully Amazon reduces Leia, too. I was planning on picking up a few to replace older versions in dioramas.

She looks fantastic and I'm really excited for this one. It looks to be by far the best likeness of Carrie Fischer in this scale, on par with the Bespin Lando in terms of accuracy. The swappable hoods are a really nice touch. I'm mixed on the soft-goods vs plastic robe. Plastic looks better overall but I normally prefer soft goods for pose-ability. If this is a softer plastic, like the Imperial officer tunic piece, it might be ok here. If not and Amazon drops it to $9.97 I may just add a few more and add soft goods to one or two.

They didn't even include an extra open hand... I guess I'll take one carded (because I am one of those suckers), but If I ever decide I need more to open for some reason, I'll stick with the clearanced deluxe version.

Yay, a VC271. That gap was annoying my OCD. Too bad it is just a lackluster repack I don't really need more of.

Repaint or not, I do at least like the HK-87 and will get a few more of this paint job. Hasbro obviously sucks at numbering and it all seems pretty random, s I p[probably shouldn't read into this, but I do wonder if the VC330 numbering with regards to other future Acolyte releases. I was hoping they only revealed two of the figures for that but more were to come. But if they intended to group the numbering slots (like they kind of did with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, & Andor releases, they only have two more open slots.

Nice! For $4 I'd definitely want more of the tank driver Dins. The mini-Target closest to my house just got rid of its only TVC peg and may not have a space for 3.75 anymore.

7
I've always thought the snowspeeder pilot cold-weather-gear was a bit funny. I'm pretty sure Hoth is still warmer than space, and a regular flightsuit should be plenty warm enough...

That definitely tracks. Three of the other recent playsets have included a carded army builder (Nevarro, Tantive IV, & Bespin). If for some dumb reason this one ends up not being easily modular, it will be nice to not need extra sets to keep a carded & loose version of the pack-in.

I haven't had much luck with Ross since before Christmas. Maybe I'll have to give it another try this weekend. I'd definitely take some more cheap skiff guards.

Interestingly my list has almost totally changed. I didn't have any non-KOTOR gaming figures on my list last year and leaned heavily on the X-Wing novels. I hadn't played Jedi: Survivor yet either. Now that we finally have a Cal Kestis, it'd be nice to have some friends to put him with. I also like how most of these fit in with the rest of the OT/CW era and wouldn't look out of place on the shelf. Given that it these are new media and fairly popular, I feel likesome of these would have a decent chance of getting made.

Jedi: Survivor/Fallen Order

1 - Greez Dritus (Survivor Appearance)
2 - Cere Junda (Survivor Appearance)
3 - Merrin (Survivor Appearance)
4 - Bode Akuna
5 - Jedi Master Eno Cordova
6 - 5th Brother Inquisitor - (Technically was in a Jedi: Survivor prequel book)
7 - Nightbrother Warrior
8 - Talon Malicos
9 - Jedi Master Jaro Tapal (His clone troopers would make an easy repaint but aren't on my ist because I don't want to waste the spot on a repainted clone)
10 - Second Sister
11 - Turgle
12 - Rayvis
13 - Dagan Gera
14 - Jo the Cannibal (Haxion Brood Bounty Droid)
15 - Bedlam Raider Veteran
16 - BX-Series Commando Droid

KOTOR

17 - Darth Malak
18 - Carth Onasi
19 - Canderous Ordo
20 - T3-M4

The deluxe Tusken Warrior has hit clearance at Target.  Today at a local store I found them with clearance tags marked at $13.99 each.  There's likely to be further markdowns.

Not a surprise with how long they sat there. I may grab a few if they get closer to $10 for a few more massifs.

It's fun to finally get to cross off some figures from a wishlist. I almost forgot what that felt like. It still was hard not to end up mostly with the main characters on this list, there's just so much we don't have yet... really looking at Bad Batch here.

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?
« on: February 16, 2024, 02:08 PM »
Steve Evans updated his website with some nifty TVC photo-checklists.  Looks like the Ghost pack-in figures will get the special HASxxx numbering, while Sabine/Chopper will get standard VC#s.

VC332 Sabine Wren
VC333 Chopper (C1-10P)

It's dumb to be annoyed by this... but I am. Chopper & Sabine should not have been mainline numbered. They should have either matched the rest of the crew with Haslab numbering or should have been left unnumbered. It is silly to have the number inconsistent across the full Mural set.

Some images of the pack, just so we have them here:

$70?! Considering all of their other multipacks have gone to clearance, I'm just going to start with 1 and maybe even cancel it. Nice looking droids though.
