The Vintage Collection / 1516
« on: June 23, 2012, 10:00 AM »
1516.

That's a good estimate of how many modern non-animated figures have been released from POTF2 through the Legacy collection.

As I'm apt to do every couple of years, I go through and re-organize my collection. This time, I took a check list and counted how many unique figures have been made since the line relaunched in 1995, ending with Legacy. I'm sure there will be a lot of debate over what counts and I wouldn't be surprised if I missed a few, but I don't think that number his very far off. I counted every figure with modified parts, an example being the POTF2 deluxe Stormtrooper, as well as kit bashes like the "I am your father" Luke that is the Saga Bespin luke with OTC Jedi Luke head. Re-paints were a judgement call, such as the OTC POTF2 repaints which I counted, and minor Jango repaints which I did not. Figures that added cloaks and capes such as the Jedi in the Jedi vs Palpatine set I did not count. The Vaders were just maddening.

Anyway, there's at least some attempt to make a tally. It's interesting that the entire run of the POTF2 line had just over 200 figures while both the 30th AV and Legacy line had nearly 300 figures each.

The Vintage Collection / Target Vintage Collection TIE Fighter
« on: October 8, 2010, 10:12 PM »
Alright, not the most exciting re-release, but I picked mine up today and was wondering who was going to take the cockpit from this and put it with the large wing versions? I was planning on keeping mine sealed and wasn't going to spring for any others unless the color match was reasonable. I'm just concerned since the designer said that he took another crack at getting the color right.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Commission for Green Sunbar paint?
« on: August 6, 2010, 08:41 PM »
To all paint masters, I'm not having very much success in finding or mixing a paint to match the green of the Sunbar uniform from the Comic pack and wanted to commission someone to mix half an ounce for me. Is this possible? If someone has the skill and the time, I'll gladly reimburse you for materials and time. Please PM me or discuss here. Thanks.

FYI, if you don't know my deal, I'm using this color to indicate the medical corps in my revised battalion. I have about 20 field medics, which you guys will dig, 4 nurses, 4 surgeons with a head nurse and Chief medical officer. Not to mention a bunch of imperial themed medical droids. The Sunbar Green has a great saturated quality that gives it a real feel.

The Vintage Collection / Theft and loss thread
« on: July 8, 2010, 03:19 AM »
Unfortunately, this happens sometimes. We're eager to talk about our recent acquisitions, but it might be actually therapeutic to talk about the rare occasion of loss, which I just experienced.

I had a contractor, whom I've used before, come over to do some work, and being summer, he had his 11 year old son with him helping. His son was geeked out with all the SW toys. You all know the pride I take in my imperial collection. Well, I had it out and organized in trays as I re-organize it, fill in some holes and customize some officers. Long story short, his son left with 6 figures when they wrapped out for the day:

Evo trooper from the FU 5-pack, only one I had
Jump trooper from the FU 5-pack, only one I had
Shadow trooper from the FU 3-pack
Ultra dirty Sandtrooper from the Evo pack
Female Stormtrooper
Random votc/tac style Stormtrooper

There is no question, the contractor's son took the figures. I bought the loss to the contractor's main office's attention, but the contractor actually took offense to the accusation and the official stance is that since I did not witness the theft, there's no proof of theft. Needless to say, I've fired the contractor. However, if you look at the list, these pieces aren't going to be cheep to replace. It's just a bummer to be so close to finishing a project off only to have it set back.

The Legacy Collection / Whatcha doin' till Vintage?
« on: March 25, 2010, 10:52 AM »
If you're caught up with everything that's been released, all we have left are the TRU Exclusives; EU BAD wave and TFU BP's (unless I'm forgetting something.) And they should be out no later than next month. That means we have May, June and July with no new non-animated product. What's everyone doing in the down time?

I don't do the animated figures, so I'm going to enjoy the break for sure, but I'm sure I'll pick up some odd and end imperial pieces if I find good deals.

Power of the Force 2 / Opinion on Miscut cards
« on: October 18, 2009, 11:20 AM »

I've had this forever and don't know what to make of it. It's unique for sure, but I'm not sure how unique. Some think things like this are worthless, others scour the Earth for just this type of item. What has your experience been? Worthless? Or a must have part of a collection?

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Clone Wars Republic Fighter Tank
« on: June 30, 2009, 11:16 AM »
Surprised there hasn't been a thread on this yet (unless I overlooked it.) Figures since it one of the few Clone Wars items I've picked up.

Anyway, I picked this up and popped it out of it's box - love the toy. Very simple, but very cool. I'm familiar from it from the Clone Wars game from a few years back and have always loved the design. I'm also digging the IJ type display that comes with the Mid-Sized vehicles now.

Collections / Anton's Imperial Army (highlights)
« on: June 28, 2009, 10:44 PM »
This is an exact duplicate of my posting at 'Scum -

Done! It's been a long time coming, but I finally got to sit down and photograph my Imperial army/fleet. Focus was a royal pain and I failed miserably on just about all the wide shots, my apologies.

Below you'll find some highlights. For the full 221 photo album, please visit Anton's Imperial Army Album hosted over on Rebelsum. (If the link doesn't take you to the album, please let me know how to fix it. Also, I was unable to get the slideshow working, I'd appreciate a heads up if you've been able to do so .) I tried to make the album as fluid as possible.

I've been wanting an army like this since I started collecting back in '78, so please enjoy:

What you're looking at is over 700 troops.

Not included in the set up is another TIE fighter, another Interceptor, 10 speeder bikes and 4 At-At's. I simply didn't have the room.

For the curious, on the table is a full, minimum, battalion of 576 troops plus senior officers, support droids and a command staff totaling 664 pieces on the table alone. Below the table is just over 100 extra troopers. The Battalion is broken down as follows:

1st Company, all platoons (4) - infantry (stormtroopers)
-- 9 troopers to a Squad (including Sergeant),
-- 4 Squads to a Platoon (not including the Lieutenant),
-- 4 Platoons to a Company (not including the Captain)

2nd Company - environment infantry
--1st Platoon - Scouts
--2nd Platoon - Special ops
----1st Squad - Snipers
----2nd Squad - Night ops
----3rd Squad - Grenaders
----4th Squad - Shadow ops
--3rd Platoon - Desert ops
--4th Platoon - Cold weather ops

3rd Company - Support staffs
--1st Platoon - infantry support
--2nd Platoon - intelligence
--3rd Platoon - tech support
--4th Platoon - heavy weapons ops

4th Company - Air and Ground support
--1st Platoon - Space and Atmosphere
--2nd Platoon - EVA ops
--3rd Platoon - Scout Mechs
--4th Platton - Heavy Mechs

Command company (one platoon only)
--Senior Officers
--Aids (not shown)
--Executive Guard (8 of 9 shown)
--Royal Guard (8 of 9 shown)
--Honor Guard (6 of 9 shown)

Droid support
--10 Astromechs
--4 Protocol
--7 Mouse
--8 Torture
--5 Probe

Air, Space and Ground fleet
--7 TIEs
--7 Interceptors
--3 Bombers
--1 TIE advanced
--2 Shuttles
--6 At-At's
--6 St-St's
--22 Speederbikes
--3 Troop transports (vintage)
--3 MTV-7's (vintage)
--1 INT (vintage)
--3 Dewbacks

That's it for here. Seriously, go to the gallery and check everything else out.

And thanks for looking.
