Smash... don't get too worried yet about not getting that BAD because you might be able to trade for pieces later.  Maybe Hasbro will continue with the droid trading place at later Celebrations if you are attending (or someone you know).

My collecting habits have changed, but that's mostly due to figures being hard to find and the price increases (yes, living in Manhattan doesn't help).  Plus, I have two little kids and a wife who doesn't approve of the hobby (which can get to be a tiring battle).  Lately I have been buying cases or figures on line... paying a little extra for the figure but saving on all the transit costs to hope to find something.  Because of this, I've been passing on prequel figures, EU and CW because the OT is my passion.  But, yes, the new Legacy figures Hasbro has shown us lack excitement, as Mike said.  Do I need a screen specific Vader?  Not really.  Do I need another Biggs or a Yavin Luke (I know he comes with the right blaster, but I can't justify another $10 just for the blaster...)?

I agree with Mike that they have some excellent sculpts out there of existing characters and they just need to rotate those in.  A few main characters, an army builder or two and a few new ones.

Speaking of the excellent sculpts is there a definitive list of which is the best sculpt and Hasbro doesn't need to make improvements on them?

But it's for the kids.  They love light-up figures and limited articulation.  ::)

People complain about the prices, but it comes out to $8.50 a figure, which is better than what we've (or at least I've) been paying for figures lately.

I believe it was a one day only sale on TRU.com.

I'm almost expecting to see repacks of the Saga figures from 2002. You know, the really ****** ones in action poses with no articulation? And action features galore?

You know... why not?  Hasbro said that they want to focus on kids more.  I'm actually surprised that Hasbro doesn't keep Vintage around for the collectors and make Legacy (or BAD) for the kids with those salt shaker sculpts.

That was my impression of Derryl when I met him at TF.  Very helpful and courteous.

I think Yakface was an affirmative by Hasbro reps during Celebration (via yakface.com), though I believe they were going to wait and put him on a Vintage card.  So it sounds like we'll have to wait a couple years for him.

I agree that scaling back the quantity will be nice, but that doesn't mean I want boring, less articulated, rehashes.

+1

If Hasbro scales back, great, but let's make excellent choice in figure selections.  I don't think too many people were clamoring for Yavin Celebration Luke again (or a Bespin dinner Vader... although I see the need to put in Vader once a year, so giving people something different is good).

I wonder if Lobot would come with removable head phones / implant?

That's quite a list considering that they haven't been released on debut cards.  Wow!  Of course, would people be satisfied with card that said Tessek or Sim Aloo instead of Squidhead or Imperial Dignitary.  It's probably unlikely that they'll release Skiff Guard Lando again so soon.  I do wish we would have gotten that image of him from the original card, but that had nothing to do with the Sandstorm scene.

I kind of mixed emotions about BAD right now, but I'm just trying to think positive that there will be other figure in the other waves in which I'll be able to trade for FA-4 and other movie ones... or there will be a droid part swap at a future Celebration.

Hammerhead?  Well, the Hammerhead I want most is the vintage cantina 3-pack with Greedo and Walrusman.

Perfect excuse to have us shell out 25 more bucks for one figure.

Actually, my thinking was the vintage Star Wars Creature Set with vintage looking Hammerhead, Walrusman and Greedo.  Scott posted a picture of it, I believe.  Anyway, that'd be three new sculpts.  ;)

Good point, McMetal.  I don't get many of the CW figures personally (I like the Bounty Hunters, but since they tend not to make many...)  but if that line's helping to support Vintage, a line that supposedly sucks for selling, then that's odd.  But, I think if Vintage (er, maybe I should say the "Adult line") went, there would be a lot people quitting the job (er, collecting).
