First off, I'm a new member. :P  I wasn't sure which board is best suited for this topic, so I'm posting it here.


Ok, on with the question. What happend between Lucas, and Kenner that made lucas switch toy companies? Or did Kenner get bought out by Hasbro? I know that if Kenner made the ROTS line, they would look so much more accurate.

Any info is much appreciated.

Kenner = Hasbro

Sorry to disappoint you.

Kenner was bought by Hasbro in the 90s, so was Galoob. Originally Hasbro kept the company names/brands going, but eventually phased them out in favor of having one single company brand - Hasbro.

You'd be surprised at the people who worked for Kenner, and some on the Star Wars brand, and who are now still working within the Hasbro organization.

Since they are the same why do you want Kenner and Galoob back?  Technically they never went away.

A simple solution is take a Sharpie to your figures and write Kenner on them.

and Kenner figures are just better.

Wait dafoo...  You said you like articulation but think Kenner's better? :)

I love Vintage collecting...  It means a whole other thing to me really, but I don't look at Vintage figures and think "this is better".  It's fun, but for different reasons.  Hasbro's stuff's "better" to me (mostly) though in sculpt, articulation, features, junk like that...  However, it's comparing apples and oranges, but given what oranges we have to compare to the apples, I'd still say Hasbro's apples are better than Kenner's oranges.

Under the Hasbro umbrella, Action Fleet has been produced...  Quite a bit actually. 

Condensing brand/company names under Hasbro's title is a simplification of things.  This means good things for us ultimately, as it means good things for Hasbro ultimately.  I'm ok with that if it means we don't see the Kenner or Galoob names.  They're just words at this point, but some of their employees are still there at least.

yeah they certainly are hiding those employees well though!

My want of Kenner to return isn't do to anything but I like Kenner written on the cards. lol

now Galoob, since they retired the name they've done SQUAT with.  That's most annoying
