The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: The Future of the Clone Wars Toy Line?
« on: February 10, 2013, 03:44 PM »
I'd much rather see them out out a new CW character in the Black Series and do it right the first time, instead of delivering a sub-par version of a character that will never offered as a figure ever again.

Ditto on this. Imagine the legion of collectors pissed when Hasbro makes a realistic TCW 2-pack of Cyborg Maul and Pre Vizsla - but with only 5 POA. >:( And then it'd be even worse if we got: "Hasbro feels confident that the versions of Maul and Pre Vizsla are up-to-date. Going forward, there will be no more TCW versions of either character."

I could totally see that happening.

I really love the packaging!!!! I would even consider keeping some of these packaged, and I'm an opener!! The black look with the orange panels on the side is very simple, yet very slick. Right amount of balance for me.

I too want TVC to come back, but I can wait just a *little* longer if Black Series impresses. I really hated the new BAD packaging, so, although it sucks we're not getting the BAD program, I'm really happy they tossed the packaging and hopefully buried it somewhere very, very deep.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - 2013 Wave 1

I'm definitely more excited with the new revamped 3.75" line. The first wave, although not great, is definitely better than the boring first wave for BAD, which really saddened me.

I love love love the new packaging. ;D

If that lady (forgot her name) purposely set up her husband and blew him up, then why did she go to the Temple afterwards and ask the Jedi for him? Makes no sense. I'm tired by some of these senseless plot details, to me they're very childish and lower the quality of Star Wars' seriousness.

While I was mostly disappointed by this episode (which sucks too considering it's part of the finale; hell, last year's finale we got witch zombies, Asajj vs. Grievous, Maul returning), I understand it's probably the vehicle into the next episodes and is meant to set them up. Still, I don't grant it as an excuse to get lazy and allow some of these episodes to be lackluster.

Ugh, too much confusion about this line.

All animated TCW stuff aside, can anyone give a definite answer as to whether Hasbro will continue with realistic TCW figures? A lot of information regarding this has been jumbled around, from what I can gather is that Hasbro is staying films-only with the Black Series figures.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 1
« on: February 10, 2013, 04:16 AM »
Luke looks great, R2 looks great, but there's something about the Maul figure that bothers me. And that's the one I wanted the most, too!!!! >:( Maybe it's the headsculpt. Doesn't look much like Ray Park. I kinda wanted alternate hands with these figures, too, but I gotta remember these aren't Sideshow Collectible figures. Getting all those extra accessories would make these cost more.

R2, though... R2 looks awesome.

Pretty please, with the Darth Vader soon.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Rumor: No more 3D Prequel Releases?
« on: February 6, 2013, 03:01 AM »
I didn't care that TPM was in 3D, I saw it solely for the fact that I could once again watch a Star Wars movie on the big screen. To me, that was very nostalgic - especially the Darth Maul vs. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan duel.

While I can't necessarily say that I'm slayed by the fact that the 3D re-releases are postponed, I am very sad that I can't see ROTS on the big screen again. That's the one I wanted to see the most on the big screen again!! The Mustafar duel in 3D... that would've been amazing.

Satine's death was very, very impressively done. Although I've known for awhile that she was going to die, my jaw still dropped when I saw the scene. It was so emotionally gripping. One thing I really respect that Filoni did was that he said, in an interview, that he purposely had Obi-Wan not burst out in tears/emotion/etc. because 1. as a Jedi, he has to keep it together, and 2. he wanted to save that emotional outburst for when it finally comes after beating Anakin on Mustafar. I think it makes a lotta sense and I appreciate that he put that thought into what fits for Obi-Wan's character.

The duel was very impressive. From the onset, we always knew Maul and Savage were basically f*****. I thought this was very apparent when Savage knocked over Sidious, who just smiled like, "Yeah, so?" and took them down with him. You knew HE was in control. There was a sense of impending doom that entire duel.

And yeah, Maul begging for mercy may have been out of character. Even my little brother said, "I'm surprised he's crying!", which is really funny for a nine-year-old to pick up. But I'll just accept it as Maul knowing he's had his ass whupped to the ultimate level, and he's probably even more screwed going forward in Sidious' plan.

TV-9D9 / Re: The Clone Wars - Season Six?

It's moving to Disney XD. Well, we don't know exactly for sure yet. But Disney announced from the start of the buy-out that they had intentions to move it over to Disney XD. And Season 6 is very, very far into production already - I can't imagine why they would throw away all the work they've already done.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: Toy Fair 2013
« on: January 29, 2013, 02:55 PM »
I bet that the new Black Series will be the featured items at Toy Fair. Kind of a shame that the 3 3/4" figures are kind of in limbo right now, but the Black Series figures sure seem cool. And maybe Hasbro will also preview the 3 3/4" Black Series figures as well.

If it means J.J. taking just a *little* longer to create a quality Star Wars film, by all means, that's cool with me! Like many have said, this can go either really right or really wrong. I always did think 2015 was really soon for the film considering the deal was announced in 2012.

No Vader in the first wave? That's gotta be a first for Hasbro

Haven't you heard, guys? As of TCW, Maul is the new Vader. ;)

I'm actually really excited about this line. A little pricey, but that's expected. I have no doubts that this line will be a success. I just hope they have no intention of canceling the 3 3/4" figure line, though.

According to Wookiepedia, this season is only going to be 20 episodes long, as opposed to the normal 22 episodes.

After this Maul/Mandalore arc, which has one episode left, is the Ahsoka 4-episode arc, which I guess will be the finale for this season. It seems anyways that this last arc is also very climatic as well as being hugely important for Ahsoka; Filoni had always mentioned that by saying something important would happen to her this season.

I always thought that there was something off about the second trailer for this season - it had a lot of material that we haven't seen yet, and with all of the arcs being mostly 4-parters, I always wondered how they would fit all of these episodes into this season. For example, it looks like the Clovis arc has been eliminated (which, in the trailer, showed Anakin beating him up in front of Padme) and also whatever episode(s) would have Embo trying to assassinate Padme (like in the snow chase scene from the trailer).

Too bad Filoni didn't do away with the whole terrible D-Squad arc and free up four episode slots for the eliminated episodes. I wonder if they'll be in Season 6.

SW.com has officially confirmed Abrams as the director

I saw that, too!! It's official!! I'm very excited and I think many of us are breathing a sigh of relief.
