My Jabba's Palace dio is where my old sculpts are - POTF2 Bib, ReeYees, Yakface, Ishi-Tib, Klaatu, Nikto, etc.   If I upgraded ReeYees there, I'd probably end up having to upgrade all those POTF2 guys on that shelf thanks to collector-OCD.  :P

Hmmm extra pieces of the archway could be kinda nice to have tho.  That set is just really nice.  Hey it’s also fairly simple (hollow).  Yet it’s also super detailed and Hasbro did nice little stuff like making it easy to light the Han from above through sculpted grates and then all the detailing on the wall backsides...  this really is more interesting to me than the barge.

Nah this thing is just more my speed.  Barge is cool but honestly I could live without it.  To me it’s like the BMF.  Nice for sure but to me just eh.  The palace on the other hand is quite the spiffy display.

So, I watched the video review of this set that was posted over at Yakface and for whatever reason it didn't dawn on me until now that the Han/Carbonite is different from the previous release.

I was planning to keep the Han figure carded for my carded Han collection, but seeing that the figure apparently has the photo-real deco and the carbonite block has a magnet needed to work with the set, I guess I'll need to buy two Palace sets to get two Han figures- one to open and one to keep carded.  ::)

Not sure what I'll do with all the extra ReeYees...

Also, for the carded folks, the video confirms Carbonite Han = VC136 and Ree-Yees = VC137.  I have updated the JediDefender TVC Figure Release List with the numbers.

I think I'm going to be getting FOUR of these:

  • One to keep Mint-in-Box
  • One to open and keep the figures Mint-on-Card and put the carded figures with my MOC collection
  • Two to open and open up the figures because I have a minimum of 2x of each Vintage Collection figures opened

So, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the two spare displays.

So, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the two spare displays.

I am on the opposite side of this dilemma. I need the display/playset (I have customers who want me to design inserts for the doorways and flooring panels) but am not interested in the figures.

I figured I would be selling the figures on eBay or my FaceBook page, but if there are enough people looking to unload spare playsets, maybe that would be my best route?

It is all going to depend how plentiful they are at the store, ultimately.

Couldn’t find a listing for $15, but found one for $109.99. Sold 78 so far, crazy!

Up for pre-order on WalMart's website right now. I got a delivery date of 5/18.

Am I a glutton for punishment for trying the WalMart preorder stuff again?

Amazingly I got an in-stock alert from Walmart and managed to pre-order one.  First time in the last 5 exclusives the in-stock alert has actually happened.

I got an in stock email too which blew my mind since it never had sent one ever, for anything I have ever tried using it on.  That was kind of wild to see.

My friends got in on a PO and got me my set so I’m good.  Hooray.

I’m actually preordered up on anything I want now.  Kinda nice.  Once I find that retro Tarkin I’m set for a while.
