I STILL can't believe no one else has mentioned Zayre's! Am I the only one who remembers or even knows about this store chain?

<ahem>

Several months later my parents discovered Zayre's. That's where I found the AT-AT driver and 2-1B to complete my set of 1981 figures. Between them and GC, I was able to keep up-to-date. Today, that Zayre's is a Value City. I've been there once in the last five years.

I mean, I know I'm long-winded on the topic, but you could give it a little glance.

Muftak/Nakatu: I SWEAR I looked and totally did not see you guys mention Zayre. I'm going blind clearly. At your Zayre's were the toy sections always in the farthest corner of the store, literally hidden away from everything else? There were 3 that as a kid I'd been to and the toy sections would always be way in the back farthest from the entrance. I mean it was so far back, I'd be winded from running to the toy section.

I don't doubt she's a skeezah, as the kids say, but...  Stone Cold and emotional distress just don't mix.  It's a tough pill to swallow. :)

What a shambles the man's life is.  I feel bad for some wrestlers who wind up with hellish lives after their career is over, but Ausin just seems like a jagoff in real life...  Like his character's not a far cry from himself.  Dude asks for it.

Well considering he was wanted for battery of his most recent ex-wife, yeah he most definitely lives his gimmick. He'll be back though, there's always that one last payday in the WWE that gets the "retired" top stars back.

I hope so...  Actually.  As much as I hate beer-swilling hillbillies who do nothing but get drunk and beat people (women or men) up, I really thought he was one of the entertaining people in WWE and when this whole slew left things just are dull.

Hardly worth going to Hooters for PPV anymore.

I wonder when the Rock will realize he's not gonna be popular in Hollywood and goes back to WWE?  I hope that's soon.

Well Wrestlemania is just a few short months away in March and it happens to be in Hollywood this time around, so we should be seeing Rocky's return around February to hype up any feud he will have going for it. And actually Rocky's got like 3 or 4 movies he's currently involved with, the Get Shorty sequel, a movie based on the Spy Hunter video game, and a couple of others. So it looks like he will only be making the token appearances for the forseeable future.

Marriage lasts 90 minutes.

Usually, I'd have something either snarky or stupid to type, but this speaks for itself.

that is so sad, but still he was just a bit drunk, she's the one who started it. you can't believe she had never seen any hints to such behavior from him prior to the wedding.

(Jesse James in no way endorses this behavior if you are single and looking)

Crap! And here all this time, I thought that's what the chicks digged!

Well apparently the girl tried to scam Austin out of millions, while potentially lying about her age and her *career*. Add to that, that Austin is probably off the roids now that he is no longer wrestling and there could be hormonal imbalances.

Also, the scuttlebutt (hehehe old fogey word, Morgbug surely must recognize it :P) is that she attempted to stab Austin in an LA restaurant recently, but instead got Austin's lawyer. She claims that the reversed happen and it was all a setup, but I think there was a report from a witness that said she was the one doing the stabbing.

I still remember the now defunct Montgomery Wards and thier fabulous toy section!!!!

I completely forgot about what was commonly referred to as Monkey Wards. I have two fond and crystal clear memories of getting SW toys at Wards. One was getting an ESB C-3PO (the original version) and just loving the cardback. The SW/ESB C-3PO cardback is still one of my favorites today, kinda ironic that the VOTC version comes with such a crappy figure. The other memory is getting the Darth Vader Carrying Case at the downtown chicago store with my grandma. She picked me up from my house and we took the train downtown. Along for the ride were my Imperial Commander and AT-AT Driver going on a top secret mission for the Empire. Ahh the good old days....

It's all just showing off...  The peacocks are strutting.

The league's doing its thing, the players are doing theirs.  And in the end, both of them are the downfall of the NHL as a lucrative, fair, and entertaining entity.

Just one problem with that JJ, the league is not lucrative nor fair. Most of these teams are losing money due to the high salaries, I believe 75% of all revenue goes into salaries. Don't be surprised if a deal is not reached, that the owners will just say "screw it! we're opening the league up for the 2005-06 without the NHLPA. anyone who wants to play can do so on our terms, otherwise we'll be utilizing AHL and European players"

One of what I thought was my funnier remarks was when someone said one of the "better mods" should come in and do something within a thread, and I said that "Apokolips doesn't have that power anymore".

And I agree with CoranHorn we are setting a bad example for Hasbro..but I can't help it. I've been waiting for this Stormtrooper ever since GI Joe got the "Swivel Arm" back in 1983....so if you think about it, I've only bought 1.5 for every year I've been waiting....hows that for rationalization....

Now only if you could adjust for inflation over that 21 year period, then many of those Stormies would have cost you only $2 :)

I think the Iron Sheik might be dead.  Nikolai Volkoff still makes appearances.  I think.

As far as I know the Iron Shiek is still alive. He last made a WWF appearance at the gimmick battle royal at WrestleMania XVI.

As for what happened to Gillian Anderson, she does a lot of charity work nowadays, haven't seen her in any movies or tv shows, and recently dyed her beautiful red hair blonde :(

As for Steve Austin, he's suing a former girlfriend who was a former Playboy playmate (and possibly a prosititute if the rumors are true) for emotional distress and potential fraud.
